I've been riding dirt bikes my whole life and I'm not about to give up in them completely, but for the camping that I do with my wife and family, using my parents' older Polaris Ranger is just so convenient. They got a 1000 a couple years ago and just keep the old 800 for bumming around the farm, but I plan on buying the 800 from them, even if it has weird Polaris problems. I love biking a lot, but I also love having my wife with me as we travel down trails or head to the fishing hole. And it's way better for when we eventually have kids. As for the Pioneer 520, even if it's pretty basic, I appreciate that Honda is offering some sort of side by side for under $20K CAD. If I were to buy the brand new equivalent of my parents' Ranger 1000, it would be only a few thousand dollars less than I paid for my pickup truck, which is just mind boggling to me
63 and rode bikes all my life. This spring wrecked pretty hard, and, I got thinking like this (getting old is interesting😮), well actually my Wife did. Old my dirt bike and now “Trying” this side-by-side idea (2018 Honda 500). Obviously quite a change but, so far ok. No guarantees, I might be back buying a bike one of these days😎.
I've had a 2020 Pioneer500 and it has been a bulletproof SxS at under 10k. Put a couple grand into making it more capable and you can go anywhere. I love my P5. I have a tally mark sticker on the side of it showing how many other vehicles I have pulled out of the woods with it so far. Up to 11.
SxS are starting to pick up where half-ton pickup trucks left off in the 1980's, but cost a lot more. Kawasaki now makes a SxS with 4-cylinder heating and air-conditioned cab, electric windows, full surround glass, with stereo and other amenities. It's getting seriously ridiculous the stuff the public buys. It cost nearly as much as my used 2018 VW GTI.
@@DifferentSpokesTV I just wish more of the young generation from ages early teen to about 30 years of age would get into the motorsports, dirtbikes, quads, all of it...instead of spending all their money on Xbox, iPhone, gaming computers, and Teslas.
Gonna get one someday. Only thing I don’t like is no power steering and limited slip on the front end. Wish it had posi all around. Nice little machine for the wife n I to tour around on and hunt partridge. What part of Canada are you from? Looks like my neck of the woods in your video.
Very limited as Side by Sides go, The Argo XF500 is better value for the money. Bit larger for more interior comfort, a better 4x4 system, much better storage options (that come standard) and a few thousand dollar cheaper, I got one and love it. I just added a winch, front and rear windshield and a roof and still under 15K Canadian. plus its a lot quicker than the Honda
This SXS is less than the almost identical Foreman Rubicon ATV it borrows most of its mechanical bits from. How is that even possible. Everything else in this price range is Chinese junk.
They are capable. Just not as capable as a standard quad. The SxS are limited in how wide they can be, or be illegal for many trails due to their width.
Yes, the Canadian price is not as good as the US one given the exchange rate. It's weird because Honda motorcycles seem to be a better deal in Canada than the States.

Yeah, you definitely need something bigger for more than two people, but having a family gives you an appreciation for side by sides.
I would absolutely go for a side by side. So many beautiful places to see. Great video. :)
Totally agree!

Fun video, Congratulations on your daughter's birth!!!
Thank you! Much appreciated.

Yep, if I'm shopping for a SxS it's going to be a Honda or a Yamaha for the reliability and peace of mind.
We have a 2015 P5 it's done thinking you will not believe. No matter what you ride it's a lot of fun!
Love the video. Beautiful scenery, and the side by side definitely looks fun. 😊
It is! We'll have to get one!

That's crazy. If I buy one I want bare bones essentials. Get me there safe and haul my gear. That's it.

Amazing review. Thank you!
3:45 Looks like your cat has already taken a liking to it! Seems like a solid choice for small ranch or farm use.
It's by far her favourite vehicle that I've tested. She loves tailgate parties.

I would definitely go for a s x s. It would be great for me and my wife.
So, how's the family doing-all healthy, I hope. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
We are very well and enjoying the fall colours. Likewise and have a great fall.

Except it's rebranded Chinese junk, and honda is a honda that you can always get parts for and will last 20 years.
Do we see a road review? I want to know how fast it is. If fast enough it might be a good vehicle to replace my car. Thx.
Ha, ha! 60kph or 37mph. Save some money for all the tickets you'll pay though.
@@DifferentSpokesTV is it really limited to 37? I have driven a 2020 p500 and it cut off at 40mph stock.
The answer is yep.
$10k is "budget" these days, jeez o man....
High end models cost over 30k.

I could afford a Brute Force 750, a Grizzly 700, a King Quad 750. I couldn't afford, nor do I want, a fat, heavy, wide, limited SxS.
Yeah, side by sides are basically small cars so the prices are up there. The off road capability is impressive though, even for cheap ones like this.

Couldn't justify $15,000 CAD for this. But interesting review, none the less.

Stupid beavers screw up everything. You need to go back and tear down that dam!
Driving holding the stick is goofy
Nice machine though.
