- Week 5 of Season Of The Wish. The Guardian finds that one of Riven’s eggs has been corrupted. As we journey through the ascendant plane and Riven’s lair to cleanse it, we learn the real meaning of Savathun’s wish and how we’ll enter the portal. A huge twist that savathun had planned. Osiris stops mara from attacking riven and the two speak about reclaiming the last egg and making the wish. Let's recap this week's story.

To be fair, Osiris isn't nearly as strong as he used to be. Both losing his Light and Savathun's possession of him definitely weakened him a big deal. He's just now starting to get back into combat shape again with using Strand it looks like.
Mara threatening Riven with the ole “the Guardian will turn you into a gun” thing is so meta and i fucking love it. This and the [joke] dialogue from Crow about the head of a Vex Gatelord just make this my favorite seasonal story from this year. Great writing and call backs.
Big thing in my opinion is that even though the writing is great at times, the seasonal model of delivering only bits of story a week kind of weakens the story as well.

It shows how much self control she really has. To stop and listen even during such a scene.
Yes but she also knew he was right and she was giving into anger. Also had she attacked Osiris we are standing right there and are far, far more dangerous then Osiris. She doesn’t want to risk a direct conflict with someone who collects corpses or gods in their loot pile

Kinda I guess. It kinda seems like the traveler shot out it's door and the witness was able to use that fact it needed to open the door slightly to shoot out to force it's way in

The fact that Osiris used Strand was just....unbelievable..
One dont need the light to weild the darkness powers~ Though I thought his control was like SUPER limited without the light. Seems even lightless can use stasis or strand with training
Well Stasis and Strand are psychic/conceptual manifestations of Darkness. Powers that aren’t tied to the light which are based on the light. Darkness is merely psychic and anyone with paracasual knowledge or understanding can grasp or manipulate these dark powers
So we need someone who has experience with the lay lines to be sent with the wish to open the way. I definitely see Mara or even crow to make the sacrifice. They both know how they operate Petra does as well but I don’t see her sacrificing herself.
Odds are it'll be Crow or Mara.
Even ignoring their knowledge of the lay lines it has been established that they share a connection that pull each towards one a other. Even beyond dimensions. If our original path proves to not be as stable as we hope, then that connection between brother and sister could act as a backup form of navigation.
If I had to place money I'd say Crow would be the one to go. Most because we know Cayde will be there, and Crow "wished" for a chance to apologize.
It’ll be Crow because Crow and Mara have a strong connection. Crow will go in and Mara will use their strong bond to find him and create a safe passage for All Guardians. How I came to this conclusion? It’s pretty easy if you pay attention to the story

Osiris and Maras’ relationship is unexpectedly respectful from both parties and getting little lore tidbits in the last dialog was really cool.
Not gonna lie I don’t understand why the traveler just doesn’t let us in to help it. Unless it can’t because of what Osiris is explaining. Also Mara sov armor when? The galaxy pattern on her armor is always cool to see wish we had the same armor.

@@seymourbutts5941 I know but why need a shader when the armor already has it. By default. Then you can add a shader for diff galaxy colors.
We kind of do have a version of her armor, for the Hunter class though.
honestly I don't think Bungie has the actual reason planned out or Osiris's technobabble would be less opaque. They have some vague notions of how consciousness can influence the Veil to do stuff, and Osiris's stated reason as to why we can't just use it to get in is because thoughts shift too easily, moment to moment, and that would change the destination to whatever errant thought you were having at the time. The trouble with that is that even some unnamed Techeun should have a disciplined enough mind to render that a non-issue. Hopefully that's just not the whole picture.
im really enjoying how much Riven has warmed up to us and opening up more and more.

@@dudehello2903 Her poster usually gives off the vibe of being better than everyone else because she seems to know best, but maybe that's just a mask she wears, I believe there could be some form of reference to her hiding who she really is though.

This is her last clutch of eggs, we destroyed the others. And it being taken is akin to a baby in the womb getting a disease before it's even born.

Ngl these pre-Final Shape seasons (Witch and Wish) have been awesome narratively, and the gameplay has been pretty solid too. I don’t wanna hold my breath for The Final Shape buuuuuuuuuut
I think the "Into the Light" dlc is gonna be us actually getting into the Traveler, and open the portal for everyone leading into Final Shape

It's like the guardian now is just the centre of a plan that has been slowly unfolding since the beginning of d1 even if they didn't want it. I guess that means our guardian (obviously) has to be the one to enter ourselves before we can let in the vanguard

Our bargain was to get all of the eggs, not to guarantee that all would be in perfect shape. Their bargains are unfair, why shouldn’t ours be too.
From what I know Riven can choose to not grant the wish if if she so choose, she did at the beginning of the season. We needed to make sure the Witness doesn't get it's own wish dragon regardless.
I forget osiris might not have the light anymore but the darkness he does have strand and stasis he still has power just no revive

What I don't understand... Why do get to see a whole army infront of the Traveler and in the Traveler in the TFS Trailer? Does this mean flying through the veil is giving our "essence" or "footprint" to the veil so others can fly through?

9:30 Mara really went and made a reference to Parasite HAHAHAHA a cage for a worm that's most likely starving right now, forgotten in our vaults. Anyways, I think Riven may actually twist the wish in the end too. To make a path for the "Guardian". Not the players themselves, but for every entity who owns the designation of a Guardian.
Hmmm so I guess we send in Ikora based on the final shape cutscene and somehow we get in?…. Something is off with the logic. Also happy to finally see Osiris wielding strand. Definitely is a plot point that pays off as light fall was so long ago 😅 also wonder if he is able to master it, if maybe we might see a series of dark guardians or guardians who lost their ghosts that will then come to understand both stasis and strand without falling to evil.

Unrelated to the video. Is there any lore on star cats? Are they the same as star horse or different? I think star horse is one of the nine (not sure) so could the star cats be one of the nine that's just split all over the place
The star horse is the paracausality made manifest it's more like the void of everything that seeps through all realities the horse is beyond the nine

It’s said that all of these lines of dialogue are through a damn radio transmission. Bungie couldn’t even take the time to animate a cutscene for such important details? The level of storytelling has definitely dropped since leaving Microsoft and firing all of the original founders and pioneers.

I stopped playing destiny a while ago because i got tired of having to pay $100 every year to get all the story for that year. Was afraid I might be missing out. Glad to know the only thing I've missed is more recycled "enemies become allies" storyline. Destiny has less consistent writing than the fast and furious franchise.

Dude this story blows 😢 I’ve played destiny since the alpha and I’m here until 5e end but it’s so obvious how they just don’t care anymore.
This is making me hate both mara and petra, they deserve getting the dreaming city cursed for wiping out the ahamkara, and I don't feel sorry for the guardians either for wiping out the ahamkara, they think there heroes but there a nothing but murderers.😡
Ahamkara are not good things Mara can literally wipe out ahamkara alone she is way too powerful at this point 💀💀

This is a very disappointing season, not going to lie.
I agree. Last year was so much more hyped leading into Lightfall. Bungie won’t even be able to touch the finale of Season of the Seraph. This seasons buildup feels extremely hollow and lackluster.
People who play destiny are never satisfied and whine about it but still play it when the next season comes around@@xachisonfire1
