@@slamdunk6739 As a longtime player it's always an unspoken rule to not mention the Second Dream. As years of past it's been harder and harder to not spoil it for newbies, even the devs have kinda embraced it. But still, going in blind and experiencing the Second Dream is one of those top tier gaming moments if you have zero context. Though the game now has enough surprised outside of that that still make the story worth it.
the main diference between warframe anddestiny is. warframe isnt afraid to fail. they dont look at an update and think "will this bring in engagement". they look at something and say, "hey wouldnt it be cool if we had capital ships and expanded space battles, allowing you to steal enemy ships, kinda like a black flag in space? " does it work all the time? no, if anything, they miss just as much as they hit. but you can feel how much they are more interested into offering cool stuff, above what is garanteed return on investment. there's the infamous bungie tedtalk about lets not overdeliver, lets treat it like a train station. meanwhile here's de they go the completely opposite way, "hey, lets add skate boards, and bikes, and flight packs and capital ships, and a rogue like, and not 1 but 3 completely diferent customizable zones. lets add weapons that are so broken, players will ask themselves why would i even bother play anything else, and then, see them optmize them to become even more broken... so lets now raise the bar on all other weapons to at least give them a fighting chance to be used. and every now and then you will see videos about how "this is the new op thing to get", only for someone in the comments to say, dude, that thing has been a powerhouse since forever, how did you not know about it yet? warframe is not worried about the bottom line. the only bottom they are worried about, is the ones they add to the frames to make them more curvy. because warframe will give some GYAT energy to frames, regardless if they are male or female. warframe is not a game afraid of having its cake and eating it too. and yes, im using cake in "that" way.
I feel like when they fail, they also try to improve that idea and often succeed in improving it into something good. Other companies tend to scrap stuff if it wasn't received well from the beginning or they brute force it in its bad shape.
@@nihzit8185 they will also revisit stuff to try and fix it, from time to time. i think only pvp, the raids and lunaro that they given up, but who knows, maybe next year they will anounce something that will make those things shine out of nowhere.
@@marcosdhelenoI think they could completely revamp both the Conclave/Lunaro if they simply did a “Grinneer vs Corpus” kind of thing, people where talking about it when the New War trailers first came to be when we got the chance to play as Kahl and Veso, just simply pit us against each other as the factions, at least it would be more interesting than what we have now
They should just say it at beginning of the game ... because when you start it at first it is a confusing mess. I am a returning player and I am lost ...
Speaking of out of touch CEOs, the CEO of the devs literally posts weekly dev shorts where they show off what they've been working on in the game and personally answer players questions. There is also a monthly devstream where the department heads talk about major game updates and events. And weekly the devs will stream themselves playing the game and personally engage in community content like builds, strats, dojos, fanart, etc.
Fun fact: The frost specter on the mars junction was so overpowered and difficult that he had to be changed to the Loki specter, I still remember getting bullied by him ☺️ Edit: Grendel can eat the specters
@@KaiserReb You're probably right, maybe Lotus Eaters and the Unannounced 2023 Update will do something since we will see some QoL Updates and other things
@@KaiserReb That game was cooked(i assume you are using the negative implication of that term, cus some people use it as a positive term as well) when it launched, its just a worse version of destiny and warframe smashed together. Gameplay is super boring, no melee, super heavy grind, super generic story, no tradeable currency to circumvent the huge grinds for the Prime Descendants. This is all from launch so if they reduced the grind, it may be a more tolerable but still vastly inferior version of Warframe.
@@Koranthus Even if they reduce the grind the new player experience will be horrible. There is little to no reason to revisit open world missions. Every single encounter on the worldmap you do as part of the story is meant for a group of 2+ players. There is no solo mode as far as i could tell. New players will be doing it solo in a dead world. Pair that with the difficulty scaling vs player power and new players will be dying on basic open world activities unless they build craft from the start. I was only a week late for release and I already experienced the dead world partially. I played warframe I know the mod system. If I was completely new I would probably just rage quit because there is no way you will not handicap yourself without prior knowledge of how it works. Not every mission has stuff you will always need as a drop and some of them are so bad you never want to do them again. I would rather ignore friends than go back and to the orb collecting bs missions again. And i did that crap solo it is horrible. People will quit more and faster than they do in warframe unless they solve this somehow.
I love Warframes resource system. Warframe is the only live service game that managed to keep old resources and keep ALL resources viable for the rest of the game. Even the most trash resource will end up being useful Any piece of loot you get can be used
even the resources that no longer have recipes (nav coordinates, orokin ciphers) can be feed to the Helminth like who comes up with that genius idea. (also who comes up with the whole "pink zit-popping infested dentist chair" in the first place)
The big difference of Warframe's "you can buy everything with real money" is that the premium currency (plat) is easily obtained in-game. There are multiple different ways to grind your Warframes. I spend most of my time in Warframe grinding rare mods and arcanes to sell to other players who don't want to grind for those things, so I don't ever have to worry about grinding out Prime parts from relics. I just buy the parts from other players using the plat I made as soon as the update launches.
Can you build "wealth" in this game and trade for the premium currency? I always liked doing that in Fallout 76. Stockpile common stuff like ammo and trade it for great/rare stuff.
@@shadyrebob5999yes a good amount of the playerbase has never even spent money on platinum and still been able to fully experience the game with only minor drawbacks
@@shadyrebob5999 you can 100% do that like in f76. The last time I bought a platinum pack was almost a year ago. Since then I've made all my platinum through trade with other players
Warframe, due to it's complexity I imagine, doesn't appear to attract the toxic, jock element that Destiny does. The community also seems to be a lot more friendly and patient. Both bonuses right from the start. After 7000 hours of Destiny, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into Warframe.
@@Hawk-Eye-bs2hr If Bungie had decided from the conception of D2 to separate the PVE and PVP sandboxes, that would be a nonfactor. It says a lot that Warframe, a game so poorly balanced for PVP that they literally gave up on it, has a defined separation between PVE and PVP sandboxes...while Destiny 2, a game that tried to establish itself in eSports, only started to separate the sandboxes years after the game was at all relevant in the eSports community. So much missed potential in Destiny 2 that it's actually depressing to think about.
@@giancarloortiz9236 honestly every game should completely separate the 2, it only hurts the PvE experience when you have to balance your class fantasy against another for PvP reasons. Its the reason WoW could never add pure support classes into the game and why after Cataclysm a lot of classes felt the same because its hard to balance this really cool ability that's a great team support in a raid against another class that doesn't have it because they do something else. I imagine Warframe would have failed if they tried to keep their game balanced in PvP because most of the fun on Warframe is how stupidly broken you can amplify warframes and weapons to do things that make sense to random NPC enemies but would lead to absolute dominance in PvP.
Ive only experienced a few bad apples who thinks that low mr players are bad and can't have an opinion cause might makes right, everyone else in my squad defended us and made the toxic guy leave. 100 hours and only 1 toxic person is crazy good
Generally speaking, the warframe community tries very hard to NOT spoil the existence of the operator as it makes the second dream much less impactful. Also Raids were removed because they were very buggy and DE was tired of trying to iron them out, so they just removed them. There was two raid missions, the second one was very buggy.
also barely anyone played those raids and honestly i personally didn't find them that great. lot of babysitting and telling people on what button to stand.
@@FrancisYorkMorganFBI oh I remember that alottt I used to run with a group who had them down to a science. Sadly even the rewards back then were lackluster, it was more a sorta fun thing to do.
The clan system in Warframe is like 50 years ahead of D2. You can create some incredibly epic scenes in your dojo and DE feature them all the time, at the same time in D2 clans dont even get a new seasonal flag.
@@godzelda123 And then there's my clans dojo...with a statue of Loki with a massive set of balls and a huge dong pissing out white colored water as the centerpiece of one of the rooms. I'm not complaining. It's a work of art.

Meanwhile, God of War Ragnarok on PC is a colossal 190gb. For a single player game you'll finish in 10-15 hours. And Black Ops 6 is an absolutely gargantuan 300gb. Game devs, not everyone lives right near the city with easy access to fiber internet and even if we did, storage devices don't grow on trees. I'm just waiting for the day companies start selling games on external SSDs because file sizes have gotten completely out of control.
There should be a rather large spoiler warning right at the beginning of the video. The playerbase prefers keeping the major story moments secret. Duviri Paradox really isnt a good alternate start as it causes immediate confusion and damages some large reveals. Most of the games bosses are ancient relics and are being updated.
This i was wondering like wait he spoiled a good part of the game talking about the Op but l guess you'll get those that'll say games been out for years so it's ok.
Duviri being accessible so early always bugged me, it also highlighted a problem I’ve had for years revolving newer warframes I miss when it was a huge mystery for new people what a Warframe was and what was inside it, was it a person wearing a suit? Are we machines? Then a new person could take one look at Xaku, Dagoth or Citrine and go “Okay there clearly arent people in there.” it kinda saddens me new people miss out on that intrigue we used to have way back when.
@@SaltSpirits the players made the developers waste money and developers on a separate game and put out subpar expansions that have been critically panned across the board? Go watch any "what went wrong" videos for the game even before final shape and everyone will tell you the game would basically release a good expansion and then do a bunch of subpar or badly implemented shit and a bad expansion and then barely salvage another good expansion when MTX numbers were looking poor.

Funnily enough Warframe is more similar to Monster Hunter than Destiny. You can progress story missions with little to 0 "Grinding". Instead of having a decent Light Level before going into a new mission. And after finishing the story added till the latest patch (exp. Fatalis for MHI and 1999 for Warframe) you have the same things to do: - Help new players - Find perfect farmable drip - Farm only the things you desire (They will be all thanks to the sense of completionism) - Indulge into the supplementary Lore and Art like the Serious Handler or Wisp ASSets.
@@jakoblopez5691 true. But Warframe is a Live service that grows thanks to micro transactions, monster hunters are always games done and finished. All the events missions World and Rise have (plus the collaboration with other games like The Witcher 3, Devil may cry are free). Mh dlcs exist only to not release a new game like they used too in order to keep History, Map and Gameplay now separated by game (A little like Warframe is gonna do with the new born Soulsframe). And they are already preparing Monster Hunter Wilds, wich seem to have taken all the critics from Rise (that was a Switch exclusive) and returned to a more "realistic" and "heavy" gameplay like World.
@@evanf1997 Wilds will be a good time to get into Monster Hunter. Otherwise as one streamer I follow has said, "so I decided to go full time content creation during the largest drought the franchise has ever seen."
First descendant is fun but it is no Warframe killer. Basically if you like first descendant, play around with it for a bit as it functions as a Warframe light. And follow it up with a similar game that has way more depth, mechanics and fun gameplay loops. Also their tagline is "Ninjas play free" and for good reason. Platinum is the premium currency but is tradeable with other players, so if you don't wanna invest real money but are OK with investing time than you can make money in game by trading.
Community is a big part of warframe, and what I've found keeps the long time players going. Joining a community of players, or squading up with friends, is the true joy of the game, and why so many vets love finding videos of new players, tho we can be... overwhelming, that's very true
Saw you mining on Deimos that one stream only to encounter the same problem when I eventually got there. Sharing pain is one way to truly understand another person lol.

@aiaoi5048 yet Warframe has been able to keep the game size around 30-40ish gbs. Which, i would love to know how they do it cuz it seems like magic to me
i appreciate that some people thought because TFD ripped off the mod system and the "crafting a descendant" system from warframe that it was somehow going to steal the crowd that has spent a few hundred hours completeling customizing and building like 60 warframes. Like it was nice to try, but stealing 2 systems from a good game doesn't magically make it a good game, they still basically transplanted everything else from Destiny including a subpar story(i finshed the launch version of D1, you can say it got better later but considering that was basically all the game had besides 3 strikes and a raid, not a good look)
You mean the watered down, gooner slop version of Warframe with predatory Nexon behind it won't kill anything? Yeaaahhhh, of course it won't. Two years from now, it'll be a memory everyone laughs at.
As someone who enjoys both tfd and warframe, it's really not that bad, very over hated, it has a lot of potential neon just has to not f it up, which they so far seem to be doing a great job of so far
One fun bit of community connection: Reb Ford is the voice of the Lotus, and was a DE intern at the time. Now she's the creative director after years of being community manager. So now our Space Mom is also our Warframe Mom.

Calling warframe the Destiny Killer is the same vein as calling Halo 1 the fortnite killer. Where the only similar thing is you shoot someone. and the fact that the other game is older. Technically wya older since Warframes roots go as far back as Dark sector.

Forcer, Mactics, Evanf? Is this the apocalypse for destiny or the golden age for warframe? Did you all collectively agree to come to start warframe in the same week?
Since the second layoffs and the announcement of the new content structure of destiny 2 a lot of people are seeing it (me included although I quit after lightfall) as the final nail in the coffin, and while warframe is not a replacement at all for destiny it is a very good game so I’m happy with the new eyes on it
9:34 The DLCs are all cosmetic, none of them add storyline or depth. Another thing to note: most of these DLCs are also temporary as they are simply compliments and/or a way to skip grind on the "upgraded" variants of frames that the base version of has already been out in game (Say Sevagoth Prime access pack is in the store, Sevagoth himself has been available for some time now and is obtainable without purchase).
As someone who played almost as much Warframe (around 3-4k hours) that I did with with destiny (4-5k) Don't worry about starting. The game is MASSIVE, the lore is incredible and had one of the best reveal in the gaming industry. So much that nobody snitched or spoiled it. it just need a try. So wake up Tenno, the Sol system is waiting for you.
Look up Warframe's Creative Director (Rebecca Ford) and you'll see why the game still has a soul, the top brass or the creative plays and loves the game
it took me 120+ hours to finish the tutorial. an additional 560+ to reach the endgame. another 50+ something hours to understand the endgame. it was all worth it too
What would you consider to be endgame? Personally I think entering endgame is unlocking steel path and beginning the arbitration, archon hunts and eidolon farming while progressing SP, while “true” endgame activities are netracels and the other activity that uses netracel attempts and personal goal of going level cap.
@@strauss_ as of right now i guess it would be steel path, EDA and maybe even netracells. since they give the latest big rewards(archon shards and arcanes). eidolons used to be the endgame on release til we all figured out how to solo them. especially now with necramechs your build doesn't even matter all to much. i even remember DE pushing sorties as endgame back in the day once rivens released. but power creep eventually made those super easy as well.
took me around 2200 hours to unlock SP earlier this year, and even still, today at around 2500 hours, i havent done a single Eidolon hunt, started early 2013, so have seen the improvements through the years
At multiple points he complains about too much content. Classic destiny Stockholm syndrome. Warframe is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s literally impossible to speedrun it because there’s over 10 years of fleshed out content that hasn’t been vaulted. This guy has got to let go of his destiny mindset.
Meanwhile, there's me who still doesn't have a Tigris Prime after hours upon hours upon hours of soul sucking grind. Now it's vaulted, so I can never complete it and all the parts and blueprints I do have are basically worthless.
@@qu1253 You can still get vaulted items by trading with other players. Vaulted weapons and frames also come back regularly through resurgence so you can grind them out that way if trading isn't your thing.
@@qu1253 A quite simple solution is to farm relics. Sell the rewards for plat and then using that plat to buy tigris prime on warframe market. Wisp prime set cost me like 40 plat. Just checked Tigris Prime SET is going for 45-50 Plat rn.
Evan... Please make more Warframe content. I'd love to see some videos on both in game lore and community lore. It might not be as in depth as some of the veteran Warframe content creators could do, but you have a great knack for reaching an audience and you are currently positioned to bring in and teach so many new players as you experience Warframe yourself. I'd love to see your perspective shift from a new Tenno to a subject matter expert like you are with Destiny.
As a destiny player who moved over after shadowkeep, Warframe is one of those games that is enjoyable depending on the person, it won’t have the cool and challenging gunfights like destiny but it has a lot of systems and aspects that are great with a lot of depth. The only real downside is the grind and confusion on what to do but honestly with how favorable and fair the monetization is and how nice the devs are along with the passion they put into the game, the future of Warframe looks really bright and I’m happy I moved over to it.
I also just got to the part with the buying everything part, you can buy almost everything but honestly it’s not worthwhile to do it unless it’s a frame where the grind is unbearable (ash). You can start trading early on and build a small wealth of plat pretty easily and midway through when you get to the high level content you can start making plat very easily through grinding for arcanes or gathering semi-rare mods
Just got to the mention of raids too, those were removed primarily due to them being extremely buggy spaghetti fests that were built for when Warframe didn’t have the systems we have now and was much simpler, the devs have said they’ll add them back eventually but it’s been a while so there’s hope
Learning how to build a frame is a whole world, actually also depends in your gameplay and how you like to play, hope you keep your journey en warframe
As both a warframe and D2 player. They are both not the same or even slightly similar when it comes to reward feedback. It baffles me everytime someone makes the comparison. Maybe because they are both space grind games?
Honestly iv no idea how anyone can draw comparisons from both games, played destiny since d1 release and picked up Warframe about 4-5 weeks ago and they couldn’t be any more different.
One of the single best things about Warframe is the fact that you don’t have to spend ANY money at all to get the premium currency, it’s an entirely opt-in system. I may not agree with some of the leadership’s politics but it’s undeniable they made a brilliant game with them actually listening to the community that support them.
Welcome Evan....to the party of your lifetime. P.S Evan when you were critiquing warframe's monetization you either forgot to mention or didnt notice UNLIKE *cough* destiny when you to buy anything that ISN'T a skin it actively tells you how to earn the item rather then buying it under blueprint conveniently under buy for platinum. No game especially destiny and its Nexon copycat(ive played both to hell so i know this for a fact) dont do that. Yeah TFD has a dictionary that shows you how and where to get things but Warframe has it to "the codex" the fact warframe went the extra mile and put another "you dont have to buy this you can earn it" warning in the cash shop shows how much MORE DE cares about its players over their wallets....if only destiny had done the same...a dream...a second dream you could say xD
I love that you did this playthrough without getting Streamer Treatment and having everything handed to you. I've been playing Warframe since Loki was a starter frame, and I've played Destiny since D1 Beta, so seeing someone go through their own journey is truly wonderful.
Surprisingly a lot of people can't do that boss when it's REALLY easy. I got the hand ornaments for the ship day one of that boss coming out. We even carried a few friends to get theirs lol.
I think one thing warframe does SO MUCH better than destiny is community engagement. I don't think I have ever seen a system similar to the Tennogen system in warframe. The sheer fact that the community can make skins and ALL the money goes straight to the creator's pocket is absolutely insane and genuinely a fantastic idea. It rewards creators and people who want to make in game cosmetics and give them some money on the side.
When you mention the first descendant and say Warframe has similar systems, you missed the cost differences, which are significant. But also, in Warframe you can earn premium currency by trading with other players. This is unique in games as a whole as far as I know.
Primary takeaway about Warframe monetization- You don’t need to buy plat you can use in game trade and sell rare loot to players for plat… once first descendant does this I’ll consider going back to it
Trade > get some black platinum from jerk > get banned by DE forever cuz they don’t care that you couldn’t know that THIS plat from RANDOM PLAYER is BLACK plat DE: trade at your own risk we don’t care we ban you anyway
The first descendant killing warframe is beyond hilarious they're quite different and as you basically said yourself the vets are part of the cult 😂❤ warframe honestly will most likely be alive for a very VERY long time. They dont care that much about money the only "money related controversy" we've had was with steel essence and kuva but DE basically accepted that they can't control the in-game market and stopped trying. They care about their players and their game not their wallets, there's not many games/teams you can say that about either. Warframe will always have a soft spot in my heart and i will alwys play it. I was an AVID Destiny and Destiny 2 player I played both since release. I stopped playing Destiny 2 about a year ago because I was tired of the BS, constant ignorance, no PVP updates, the stupid ass seasons, and the $60 expansions once a year. I felt lost for 6-8 months bouncing back and four from game to game and then remembered Warframe a couple months ago right before all the destiny players came over. I fell in love all over again and was so excited for all the new content mods and warframes, I've now been consistently playing for a couple months at least 20+ hours a week, AND IM STILL USING WEAPONS FROM 5 YEARS AGO, I'm an absolute blast man, my alliance the other day told me i should switch off the ignis wraith and not waste my plat on a riven for it, but that doesnt matter for me. I have an extremely neice playstyle and my favorite warframe is probably the least played one Gyre, but in the past couple months I've been able to build her, my ignis wraith, and epitaph up to where I can literally delete entire rooms of enemies by walking into them and toasting a single eximus for like 2 seconds. This game is absolutely amazing and golden. Long live the tenno, long live the warframe!!!!
The phrase "Ninjas play free" quite litterally encompasses all that is warframe. Aside from Tennogen, you can get EVERY (available) item just by playing the game. You can trade for Platinum and use that to "Boost" yourself or purchase frames that might be a bit grindy to farm (Kullervo & Dagath for example). Every 2 weeks the Void trader (Baro Ki'teer) comes to a relay (community hub) where he sells some limited mods/ weapons & cosmetics... and a quest for one of the warframes. You don't ever have to spend a single cent, but you will feel inclined to do so, not out of necessity, but out of respect.. given that you've made it past ~100 hours playing (If you've been around this long, you've gotten more playtime on a free game, than anything Ubisoft has sold to date). And let's not even talk about login Discounts... you can get up to 75% off on a Platinum purchase, which brings a $200 pack down to $50... it's still a lot, but you're getting 4x your money's worth (compared to destiny 2... yeah, WF wins on that one).... also, no yearly expansion purchases... suck it Bungie. Yes warframe is a bit grindy, but it's simple once you go to the IN GAME LFG chat, if you just "ask" for advice, 9/10 times you will get flooded with helpful comments & folks willing to grind with you. There may also be a troll or 2, which makes for really absurd & funny moments. The best part imo, is that your session is local (if you are the host/ playing solo), otherwise, the game targets the member with the best/ most stable connection to act as the host. There is almost no lag (but when there is, it can be a pain, if you for example join a guy playing on his fridge with a 1Mbps connection)... but the thing is... that crappy connection, does not prevent you from enjoying the game solo... unlike Destiny or TFD. I've spent quite a few grand on Warframe, and just like PoE, they're purchases I feel are 100% worth it, and no regrets. I might not play every single day now, but it's the one game on my pc that's been on it for the 11 Years I've been playing. And the absolute best part.... you can play all of the main quest missions to this day, unlike the Red War in D2... heck, you can even replay/ restart those missions if you wanna experience it again. I love Warframe, I love DERebecca, DESteve and DEMegan... I love PrimeTime on Fridays (for me at least)... I've seen them succeed, and I've seen them thank Mr. Nick Gurr live... The game feels more like a family, than a hassle to play. If you ever feel overwhelmed, all you need to do, is ask someone. "What is love?"
I'm a Trinity main who had experienced the days of Raids, and hearing you mention that brings a tear to my eye. The closest I have as a memory for those are the JV and LoR shoulder sigils decorated in my frame. I want to let the people know that I was once part in a fun mode and it's a story to tell, like an old war veteran. Also, kudos to the Warframe Raid School Bus for getting myself on foot back in the day.
Ive played both games for about the same time, and ive been playing a whole lot more warframe than ive been playing destiny. To my Destiny refugees, we welcome you. We all life together 💪
There have been so many people checking out Warframe for the first time recently, and I am so here for it. I have about 2k hours in d2, and about triple that in Warframe. I have taken year long breaks, but I always seem to come back, and Everytime I do, there is a crazy amount of new content to do.
4:40 Dont worry mate, most of us dislike the people who try to railroad new players into the "intended way" too. If I were to say what the "intended way is", its to grab a buddy or three (preferably atleast one who knows the game) and playing the way you like (we all pray for new player experience improvements) Anyways, asidee from the potential spoilers (Which you already apologized for), I think your video is spot on - Warframe has its weaknesses and strengths, but you can clearly tell it was the labor of love and years every step of fthe way
The "intended" way changes depending on what you're doing. I'd say do the starchart by yourself because that's when you get to really get a feel for your stuff. When it comes to Syndicates and such, the "intended" way makes no sense because you're just wasting your time. Necramechs are the biggest offenders. Have you ever tried to do Isolation Vaults solo at New War level? It's stupid.
That's what I mean. Because of the huge power imbalance, you're kind of *forced* to do them public, which usually also results in you getting hard carried
honestly now is like the perfect time to get into warframe or even to return if you haven’t played in a while. especially with what has happened with destiny. there a new large update coming this winter which honestly looks amazing so getting started now i think is the best time.
Warframe is honestly my favorite looter shooter. The story, characters, the community, all of it combined makes for a fantasic experience. I randomly picked up warframe at the beginning of the pandemic and still go back to it off and on.
I have been playing this game since almost the beginning, back when there was like 5 or 6 mission types. I'm so old in this game that I have the insignia and equipment of the oldest ones lol. Grandmaster founder here, and I still play to this day. When you said you can't imagine how it feels to see the game evolve other the years? Well I can tell you it feels amazing. This game is like the finest of wines, getting better with age. Helping new players is one of the best things old timers like I can do. It really feels amazing to take someone under your wing, and guide them. Prop them up when they fall, hold their 6 when they are surrounded! I can't wait to see what 1999 has in store for us. Dream. Not of what you are, but of what you want to be.
I picked up Warframe after the disappointment that was lightfall, and I'm so happy to see the recent influx of former D2 players hopping on to try out the game. Hope y'all are enjoying this *actual* Free to play title lol
tried it years ago... the first 20 hours when u play ALONE are biggest shit i have ever seen... still dont have a clue what i am doing there no clues no hints no red line u can hop on and just play... mod and upgrade system is too complex especially when u are a beginner... wepaons? what weapons when u choose wrong u have to play a shitty bow for a long time... and u have 2 option per weapon slot at the start of ur journey.... for the first 20 hours it is a real pain for a destiny 2 veteran with more than 13k hours... i was open minded but i had the feeling that the game doesn't want me to tell how to play this in a cerain way... the only 2 things that was fun at the beginning are the movement adn the fact thate nemies at the stzart a re so low u can one hit kill them with ur catana ... but when u reach a certain point in the story on other planets u have to work the bow that u choose wrong .... in the end a nice game... performance was good... but a big lack of guiding new players.... back to destiny for me...
@@KHorN32KHarN3 When I first played warframe I was like 15. It was much harder, more grindier and all than now. Not to mention the lack of wiki or content, there wasn't even a codex with every weapon in game. So, maybe it's just not for you? If you don't try by yourself to play the actual game, it wont beg you to do so.. That's the thing with Warframe.
I've been an on and off warframe player since the closed beta and still have my shirt from back then. I've definitely bounced off some updates due to how I felt at the time DE mishandled it but even with that being the case Warframe had always been a comfort game for me I can come back to, play for awhile until something else comes along to take my attention then I take a break from it. I've been spending more time as of late getting all my weapon mods and frames unlocked I want prior to 1999's launch. Found your video through recommendation and I'm excited to see your first descendant video. Cheers. ❤
ive seen so many "destiny player tries warframe for the first time" video the last few weeks, wtf happened over there lol? At any rate, welcome to Warframe, its a great game.
Two rounds of layoffs, the higher ups constantly saying it’s our fault for not buying the content to prevent it, lots of promises and ass-backwards changes, an overall lack of empathy and a community filled with toxicity. And not to mention the CEO Pete spent over 2 million bucks on cars.
I remember people were having problems with Missions like Exterminations because the map would spawn the exact amount of enemies you need to kill, to complete the mission. The issue with that, was that players would have to scour the entire map to find the last guy, and he'll either be running into a wall, or stuck IN a wall. To remedy this, the devs made it so that enemies constantly spawn in.
YOOOO Welcome to Warframe, Evan! I don't get over to twitch often so I didn't know you started playing, but this brings me great joy! Warframe has a lot to love and a lot to be ambivalent about, but the devs are absolutely committed to being fair and communicating with the community and making games they (and we) love to play. Hope you get to check out the dev streams some time!
Warframe is basically a mega croissant of game ideas - put with an entire kitchen of chefs who are good friends, adding in their favorite things but also trying not to mess up the food, with the end result being this non-traditional massive croissant that has like 10 flavours in 1.
As cool as it is to see you play warframe and make content on it, this video needs to be revised. Especially the beginning because you, even with good intentions, are showing off MASSIVE story spoilers that the community has gone to great lengths to keep safe for newer players. Imagine if the plot twists in the witch queen story were spoiled for warframe players going to destiny 2 and and not getting that wtf moment us warframe players have had with the second dream, the sacrifice and new war. PLEASE Evan, redo the video and remove the spoilers
@@muddysudz6550that's not the point. There's always going to be new players and the acceptance of spoilers varies from person to person and community to community. As for Warframe, telling someone you can play in a mech isn't a bad thing, but spoiling the first major story beat that really hooks new players into the game is incredibly distasteful and looked down upon by us Warframe vets and the casual player base. Seeing the second dream without being spoiled for me was a wow moment and I would give anything to have that again and I want others to experience it like that, spoilers just suck and a little understanding doesn't hurt.
Nice review, you gave it a real strong shake and you could appreciate the game for what it is but still not be in love with some of its aspects. You saying that it’s like a bunch of games crammed in together is very true and that’s why you can love some bits and not others.
@@wegaxd I should've been more descriptive. I'm talking about content that like the campaign. Stuff that wouldn't confuse new players if it went away like in Destiny 2.

@@wegaxd primes aren't sunset period the ability to farm their relics is removed but the can still be earned if u have their relics or if u trade with other players unlike in destiny where u lose access to both earn and use it
Adding onto the community aspect, I think its super cool that the devs do dev shorts (15 mins every week where they talk about the game and answer questions), weekly primetime where they stream for 2 hours and play with the community, a full on dev stream every couple months, they do twitch drops, and then they do weekend twitch drops for certain streamers to help promote community. Listen to the devs and it doesn’t feel fake or that they are this big CEO who wants your money. They are real people who love what they do. I spend money just to support the devs. They are amazing.
I liked the video, the only thing I don't agree with is the part about the generic cutscenes, showing the end of a cutscene is not a good way to prove that point (specifically the end when you are about to control the character), loved the video thou! Sometimes I think that Destiny is like Star Wars and Warframe is almost like Warhammer 40k.
I want to apologize for showing potential spoilers of the game, I figured it would be fine since most of the audience for this video are either new players who wouldn't make anything of them or vets who know all about them, but it's still a mistake and I'm sorry everyone, hope the video was at least solid 😎

@@slamdunk6739 As a longtime player it's always an unspoken rule to not mention the Second Dream. As years of past it's been harder and harder to not spoil it for newbies, even the devs have kinda embraced it. Though the game now has enough surprised outside of that that still make the story worth it.

Meanwhile in destiny: MuSt havE 1337 clEars on salvation edge and 69 kd or boot.
the main diference between warframe anddestiny is. warframe isnt afraid to fail. they dont look at an update and think "will this bring in engagement". they look at something and say, "hey wouldnt it be cool if we had capital ships and expanded space battles, allowing you to steal enemy ships, kinda like a black flag in space? "
does it work all the time? no, if anything, they miss just as much as they hit. but you can feel how much they are more interested into offering cool stuff, above what is garanteed return on investment.
there's the infamous bungie tedtalk about lets not overdeliver, lets treat it like a train station.
meanwhile here's de they go the completely opposite way, "hey, lets add skate boards, and bikes, and flight packs and capital ships, and a rogue like, and not 1 but 3 completely diferent customizable zones. lets add weapons that are so broken, players will ask themselves why would i even bother play anything else, and then, see them optmize them to become even more broken... so lets now raise the bar on all other weapons to at least give them a fighting chance to be used. and every now and then you will see videos about how "this is the new op thing to get", only for someone in the comments to say, dude, that thing has been a powerhouse since forever, how did you not know about it yet?
warframe is not worried about the bottom line. the only bottom they are worried about, is the ones they add to the frames to make them more curvy. because warframe will give some GYAT energy to frames, regardless if they are male or female. warframe is not a game afraid of having its cake and eating it too. and yes, im using cake in "that" way.

It’s not a “destiny killer” it’s a similar but very different type of game. The same players might enjoy both games, but if you want to play a certain type of game, Warframe and Destiny don’t perfectly overlap.
Calling warframe the Destiny Killer is the same vein as calling Halo 1 the fortnite killer. Where the only similar thing is you shoot someone. and the fact that the other game is older. Technically wya older since Warframes roots go as far back as Dark sector.

I helped a newer player get gauss prime, but it cost me around a few months of progress. But it was worth it.
I know one of my favorite videos relating to warframe is one along the lines of “Every 15 seconds the game changes, but it’s still Warframe” genuinely so interesting to see how different this game is. Fire game

way too many story spoilers for a video aimed at new warframe players.. saying to play through and enjoy the second dream as your reward and then proceeding to spoil the major plot twist of it 5 minutes later is not fair to new players who want to experience warframe's story for themselves
it's worse than that. there's footage that spoils it not even 10 seconds into the video.
Was just thinking the same thing
It's a multiple year old quest grow up.
@@fotis3v480 Fuck off. It's the games biggest turning point story-wise. It's a moment that needs to be experienced blind. In fact it is so impactful that some of the biggest videos on youtube about this game are just new players playing the second dream, or a series of videos from one channel where they get more and more infatuated with the game until they hit the second dream and they realise they haven't even scraped the surface yet. Warframe players enjoy watching people experience the game for the first time, for good reason.

There is no DLC. I think he just meant "updates" but is too Destiny-brained to understand there is a huge difference.
aye, welcome to Warframe, we all lift together.
my god where was the spoiler warning
As someone who played almost as much Warframe (around 3-4k hours) that I did with with destiny (4-5k) Don't worry about starting. The game is MASSIVE, the lore is incredible and had one of the best reveal in the gaming industry. So much that nobody snitched or spoiled it. it just need a try. So wake up Tenno, the Sol system is waiting for you.
Watching through the video, I can't wait for you to try the Steel path hehe
Look up Warframe's Creative Director (Rebecca Ford) and you'll see why the game still has a soul, the top brass or the creative plays and loves the game
it took me 120+ hours to finish the tutorial. an additional 560+ to reach the endgame. another 50+ something hours to understand the endgame. it was all worth it too
Same ive put in over 350+ hours to get to endgame and steel path but i had my cousin carry me through spy missions since i hate them lmao
There is no endgame
What would you consider to be endgame? Personally I think entering endgame is unlocking steel path and beginning the arbitration, archon hunts and eidolon farming while progressing SP, while “true” endgame activities are netracels and the other activity that uses netracel attempts and personal goal of going level cap.
@@strauss_ as of right now i guess it would be steel path, EDA and maybe even netracells. since they give the latest big rewards(archon shards and arcanes).
eidolons used to be the endgame on release til we all figured out how to solo them. especially now with necramechs your build doesn't even matter all to much.
i even remember DE pushing sorties as endgame back in the day once rivens released. but power creep eventually made those super easy as well.
took me around 2200 hours to unlock SP earlier this year, and even still, today at around 2500 hours, i havent done a single Eidolon hunt, started early 2013, so have seen the improvements through the years
4:10 Is this a Destiny 2 content vaulting apologist stance? I feel like I should stop the video there.
'Sent me a million drones', welcome to warframe! I have also seen people get million monkies and or eggs. Also yes the stug is a meme.
Your description of the factions was very reductive...and correct. Also WMMT Music!
Warframe, a game that actually rewards grinding and makes effort feel good and worthwhile
Damn straight. Destiny has not felt rewarding or respecting of my time for a long time now
Meanwhile, there's me who still doesn't have a Tigris Prime after hours upon hours upon hours of soul sucking grind.
@@qu1253 it'll come back hold strong Tenno
Atleast with Warframe you can play the whole story, not just the latest expansions.
This guy says they need to work on boss fights, but he never mentions Eidolons, Profit Taker Orb or Exploiter Orb, Ropalolyst, OroWyrms, etc.
He thought the junction fights were boss fights, lol.
Yeah TFD has a dictionary that shows you how and where to get things but Warframe has it to "the codex" the fact warframe went the extra mile and put another "you dont have to buy this you can earn it" warning in the cash shop shows how much MORE DE cares about its players over their wallets....if only destiny had done the same...a dream...a second dream you could say xD
you have insulted the elder gods, there is only one appeasement that shall suffice.

I'm a simple 600hour warframe player. I grind Relics to sell em for plat and go Fishing afterwards. I love this game
I love that you did this playthrough without getting Streamer Treatment and having everything handed to you. I've been playing Warframe since Loki was a starter frame, and I've played Destiny since D1 Beta, so seeing someone go through their own journey is truly wonderful.
Oh can’t wait for you to try the 60 eyes hidden boss, have people that know what they’re doing take you through it
Surprisingly a lot of people can't do that boss when it's REALLY easy. I got the hand ornaments for the ship day one of that boss coming out. We even carried a few friends to get theirs lol.
I'm ~2000 hours in and haven't found out how to get that sumdali until now. Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today.
Bro the first 15 seconds are straight up spoilers....
Primary takeaway about Warframe monetization- You don’t need to buy plat you can use in game trade and sell rare loot to players for plat… once first descendant does this I’ll consider going back to it
It's like picking up random coins from other countries so you exchange them in the guild for ones you can use
Trade > get some black platinum from jerk > get banned by DE forever cuz they don’t care that you couldn’t know that THIS plat from RANDOM PLAYER is BLACK plat
DE: trade at your own risk we don’t care we ban you anyway
The Hive and The Infested are definitely both inspired by the same source material, The Flood.

Dont worry mate, most of us dislike the people who try to railroad new players into the "intended way" too.
If I were to say what the "intended way is", its to grab a buddy or three (preferably atleast one who knows the game) and playing the way you like (we all pray for new player experience improvements)
Anyways, asidee from the potential spoilers (Which you already apologized for), I think your video is spot on - Warframe has its weaknesses and strengths, but you can clearly tell it was the labor of love and years every step of fthe way
The "intended" way changes depending on what you're doing. I'd say do the starchart by yourself because that's when you get to really get a feel for your stuff. When it comes to Syndicates and such, the "intended" way makes no sense because you're just wasting your time. Necramechs are the biggest offenders.
As cool as it is to see you play warframe and make content on it, this video needs to be revised. Oh no he spoiled the story of a game that's over 10 years old
@@muddysudz6550that's not the point.
