I have this problem a lot. All I know is that something about "scissors" must have been really important for me to put it on a to-do list, so obvious that no further context seemed necessary.

It's a numbers game. I keep writing down weird quotes, just for my own entertainment. My quota of remembering the context may suck steadily, but the more I do it, the higher the absolute number of the ones I retain becomes :)
