We have 15 Bert specials , but not enough of this man. Best comedian of all time
Definitely 😂
i couldn't of said it better
@@maniswolftomanthat’s a fact. Patrice O’Neal was one of the funniest comedians and every other comic respected him. He barely did any shows or movies.
Comedian gatekeepers should be studied.
@@WalterSobchak91 To be fair though.. that was mostly Patrice's fault. Lol He constantly got hooked up with opportunities, but he didn't play nice with Hollywood types at all.
For his legacy I simply want more recorded stand up from Dave Attel. It’s the greatest loss to society that more of Dave’s material isn’t available for the future generations of comedy fans. One of the greatest comedians of all time.
His recorded work, aside from the old cds, is way too tame compared to his live shows. You gotta see him in a club to get the "real" Dave.
I wish he would make more comedy albums. Why does he only have one?
"Skanks For The Memories" is tame? Raunchy. Saw him in Bethlehem,PA about 7 yrs ago and Bumping Mics w/ Jeff Ross more recently. More subdued as he got older but still funny.@@I_AM_BAYTOR
Oh yeah his live work is killer. Favorite comedian for sure, but dude...
Captain Miserable
Skanks for the Memories
& Road Work
... are all phenomenal.
Most overrated standup ever.
Saw him live last week and he was just as fantastic as he was 10+ years ago. I think Netflix should really consider resurrecting Insomniac.
I think he is sober now. Which is great.. but i do miss insomniac
I used to watch that show in my pre-adulting age. And that show really showed me at age 14-16 what the rest of the weird world had to offer. This was before social media. Lol I miss those days. Early to mid 2000s were great!
hes sober now so its not going 2 happen
This guy was really good. He still is but he was also
@@alfredocamba1995 Take it easy Mitch
"Andre Agassi with a drinking problem"...one of his funniest and most accurate jokes ever. 🤣 🤣🤣
"If only it was a joke!"
33 years ago. Can we PLEASE get a new special from this guy? He's every comic's favorite comic!!
Good news: he’s got a new special coming out in a few weeks.
@@henrysmith9725 dude, lol that's awesome!!
Rewatching this to prep for hot cross buns!
24 years ago. You're off by a decade.
Now on Netflix Hot Cross Buns!
I have been quoting this special for over 20 years. Probably my favorite stand up special of all time.
This is one of the all time great sets, just rapid fire delivery for a near half hour, amazing stuff
Yes! I remember seeing it on CC back in the early 2000s and I've watched it so many times since then. I can nearly quote the whole thing.
If Dave Attell isn't your favorite comedian, I will almost guarantee he is your favorite comedians favorite comedian. Respect for the legend.
Stanhope, Attell and Patrice
Norm Macdonald was the only stand-up comedian that ever held my interest for their entire career. Now that he's gone I've been watching some other comics and nobody makes me laugh like he did.
Norm was also my favorite @@grizzlywhisker
No one will ever top Norm Macdonald
That part!
24 years later he still KILLS! LEGEND.
Back in comedy centrals golden days. You know, when the majority of the content was actually stand up related.
I miss those days, they introduced me to so many great comedians
it’s not called stand up Central
I remember alot of Scrubs and MadTv re-runs during that era lol
It’s like MTV and The History channel, barely about their supposed topic now
@@seniormassI hope you stub your toe.
This was the show that introduced me to the hilarity of Attell. His small club stand-up shows are fantastic.
"I don't got the schoolin' for that." Classic line.
Saw this man live 7 years ago, he called my half of the audience the "wine and cheese section" cuz they weren't laughing enough. Not my fault, I was laughing my heart out.
Dave Attell is to stand-up comedy what Iron Maiden is to metal. Massive cult following, respected by all peers...but never quite mainstream. Nothing wrong with that. Respect
Stanhope and Hicks too.
Run to the hills. Stranger in a strange land. The number of the beast.
@@Mr.Vape420 yep those are some IM songs
The man had his own weekly show 😂
@@codyquinn4954 not exactly a household name tho
This is still one of the best legendary standup comedy routines ever!
Went to the Comedy Cellar in NYC as a bucket list item. Dave Attell just happened to headline and slay it. 100% fresh material, still as funny today as he was in this special.
Wow! Honestly you got lucky. When I was there I kept getting reverse heckled by some unfunny amateurs
How long ago?
@@MoejiiOsmanTV Summer 2022
That's awesome, good to heat he's still killing it. I always liked him since the first time I watched Insomniac so many years ago
Saw him there last night. Pure coincidence that he was performing. Did the 1130pm show Sunday and no other dates all weekend. Saw him 6 months ago and this was so mostly new material.
David Attell is simply insane...his humor is just out there... he's one of a kind... enjoy... the peterman...
Youre just Peter..no peterman.. just peter..

One of the most underrated specials of all time. Top 10 in the last 30 years.
I watched this so many times in the early 2000s, love Attell
Dave is one of the all time greatest comedians!!
And he is HIGHLY praised in the comedy community. He certainly has a level of respect from his peers as an original comedy genius
He's always all gas never a dull moment yeah his career is holding up very well he is a comic genius
I think Dave kyboshed it due to dangerous shitfacedness
His thick caulk is also delicious.
Skanks for the memories!
Classic Dave Attell! There are so many bits in here that popinto my head all the time even 25+ years later! I love that spooky tooth peg leg bit. So funny!!!
Damn shame when he's telling the blackout joke I'm reminded of Amy Schumer
Dave Attell is top 5 best comics alive.

"If I need directions, I'm not asking a man with one tooth! I'm asking a man with one leg. Cause he definitely knows the easiest way to get there am I right?"
Insanely brilliant.
CC needs to bring back this series. So many comedians came from this series.
Legendary piece, i love the part when he talks about the guy with one tooth 😂
For those that don't know the original airdate is: July 17, 1999.

I was 11 and watched it "live", I miss the old days of comedy
One of the best stand-up sets of all time.
This is classic! Dave is so good! I’ve watched this a million times, still hilarious! Legendary.
Dude ive watched this guys show since i was a kid insomniac was the best
Kick the sandman in the sack, stay up late, insomniac lol

This whole set is perfect
When I saw this I was 16 years old,I literally peed myself laughing.
I just saw Dave at Helium in Portland. He is even funnier now. Hilarious to see live.
That’s actually awesome to know. I have to see him.
He's the best comedian I've ever seen live. I've seen burr, gaffigan, brian Reagan, Ron white, Dave Chappelle, and many others. No one makes me die laughing like Dave Attell, it's not even close. Next time Dave is in town, see him, and thank me later.
Dave’s my favorite comedian of all time. Used to watch him as a kid when he did his show. He is the comic’s comic, fora reason. The GOAT!
"I just pretend it's two straight guys that got there really early"....fucking genius. This is my all time favorite set of his so far. He always kills it.
One of the greatest stand ups of all time.
Says every comedian and fan ever.
really underrated.....a true comedic genius
My favorite joke of his, that I've remembered all these years, is at 16:52. Loved his show INSOMNIAC. He has great timing.
Nice complete set!!.. I cried laughing all throughout this clip (crying laughing frfr)!! 😂😂 9.5/10

I remember staying up smoking cigs in our kitchen watching insomniac at 10-11 years old. And the man show aired around the same time I think. And then the girls gone wild adverts followed that XD.
That's kind of funny because the Man Show 2.0 was co-hosted by Doug Stanhope who said the Girls Gone Wid guy is "pure evil" 👍
@@skateboston420 and the flight logs were also made public and Kimmel is on them. Not sure about the GGW guy though.
@@joeydigrado382 Not sure what you're talking about, if you're talking about the Epstein flights? Idk about that, I do know that the right will say Bill Clinton was on those flights and the left will say Donald Trump was on those flights but the truth is, being on those flights isn't necessarily damning, it could be seen as suspicious. Afaik people like Chris Tucker and Courtney Love were on those flights as well, I don't believe them to be pedophiles, well Courtney may have had Kurt Cobain murdered so she's just suspicious anyway and has always seemed kind of fake. Trump and Clinton? Very possible they're philes, I would be really surprised if Jimmy Kimmel and Chris Tucker are. Bill Gates is definitely highly suspicious. Kevin Spacey might be suspect. Definitely not good to be on that list though, but then again Idk the source of the supposed flight logs. Is there a solid source for that? Afaik the FBI has his little black book and afaik they've never released a comprehensive list of the flight logs. There's a lot of bad info out there that comes from sources that can't be easily verified or simply can't be verified. It should be said that a pedophile only applies to an attraction to prepubescent children, before puberty. Someone attracted to preteens between 10-13 would be a hebephile and someone attracted to teenages between 14-17 would be an ahebophile. That pedophile word gets thrown around too often. I would think most adults are somewhat attracted to teenagers, that's just human nature. So afaik Epstein and the Lolita Express didn't involve any young girl under 10 y o. Still creepy a f though 🤔.
@@skateboston420 that's what that island was for, blackmail and child sex trafficking that's what was said in the court hearings and it was said to happen all the time from the people who were actually there. Trump is factually not on the flight logs to the island, but one flight from NY to NJ. They are a pedo cult that's why they are pushing porn in elementary schools. That's why epstine got killed to cover for everyone. Kappy was murdered 6 or so years ago for saying many names on the list b4 anyone really knew. That's why he got killed. That's why everything was hidden from us. They are a fked group of sick powerful people. They are all complicit and they all know what they've done. The logs are now in US public records for all to look at.

A lot of comedians spend a good amount of timing setting up the punchline. Dave Attell is like a rapid fire joke machine.
If standup comedy had advanced statistics like sports, Attell would be the unquestionable all-time Jokes Per Minute leader.
Steven Wright would easily take that title tho.
He and Dangerfield would be the two guys at the top of the list and there wouldn't be anyone else even close
