I love Dave so much. He's such definaly my top favorite of all the comics. I grew up listening to Dave in the 90s. I'm 31 an listen to Dave's comedy when I work at night. Makes it so much more enjoyable an I feel like I have been shaped by him over the years. He's not afraid to say what he feels no matter how lude I love that he makes the audience uncomfortable at times. Only wish there was more of him on UA-cam
Wow, I never realized it, but they have extremely similar acts, in terms of style. No wonder I love em both so much. I'd love a roast off between the two!
@@dwayneduhaney6576 Ari (not gonna bother to look to spell his last name) is awful. Hes tiresome and not clever. His delivery is rushed because he thinks what he's saying is WAY better than it is and hes too excited to get it out at a decent pace. Overall, hes extremely annoying. The only reason I know that turd is JRE.
Insomniac & Skanks for the Memories were both defining moments in my younger days. Truly a legend & I'm happy to see he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.
His rapid fire, stream of consciousness style is like nobody else. The amount of material needed to fill 30 minutes to an hour is crazy. Every couple seconds it's a punchline. Absolute legend.
The John Denver tape costing 99 cents vs a new tape costing 2.50 is such a brilliant joke. I dont think comedians of today come close to this quality. And comedy watchers of today cant digest these jokes. F*cking love this guy.
this is the first ive seen of Attell... normally when Joe Rogan and friends say "this guys the best or this guy is one of the greats" they are usually just blowing smoke up each others asses BUT this was the best 27 mins of stand up I think ive ever seen, this is 25 years old nd still relevant and still funny
The first time I heard it was on mushrooms in a basement playing Wayne Gretzky's hockey on N64 with a few other dude's and we were all struggling to breathe from laughing so hard. Any subsequent listening has never failed to make me crack up. Its so good
He is discovered. YOU just havent heard of him yet......well, until now. He was super popular (20 yrs ago) with shows and stand up specials-a-plenty. Dave is HILARIOUS!!!
Giuseppe Fiorentino I remember Dave from many years ago when I used to watch Comedy Central we don't get it on the cable TV that we got now so here I am on UA-cam
Jesus, Dave needs another special. I've watched this at least 3 or 4 times now and near the end, I'm just laughing my ass off...... The dude's one liners just keeping going one after the other. I've never seen anything like it.....
In the comedy world, he's pretty much the most overal respected/praised comedian working today, besides probably Dave Chappelle or Norm MacDonald. The mainstream, though, is a different story. He doesn't exactly resonate with the typical casual comedy consumer, so major outlets tend to ignore him.
+Wenqi Zhu Yes, i agree. When he says "NOW!", or "well" right after a punchline, and then you are like, "wait! What did he say??" Then you rewind, and you get the joke. It's a very good delivery!
Even back in 96 Dave was hilarious. It's cool to see how he's tweaked some of his deliveries over the years though. He's even better in his more recent stuff.
He's famous for tweaking sets meticulously. Like he'll compare/contrast changing a single word from the early to late show, then go back and compare the tapes to see which got more laughs. He makes it seem effortless, but he is a hard worker. The density of the material shows how much work he puts in. I mean, most set-ups are just that. Dave's set-ups are already a joke. One of my favorites: "Sometimes you need a cigarette. Like after you have sex with a beautiful woman or a confused young man..."
I love how he tells jokes. If you put together a list of comedians and reported on how long it takes, on average, for each of them to get from the set-up to the punchline, this guy is easily in the top five. He just fires bullets. Even some of his set-ups are punchlines from the previous joke.
An anthony geselnik clip about caligula led me to this Dave Attell special with a mention of caligula in the first few minutes. I don't even understand how many people in the universe had to die for those meaningless stars to align.
the first dave attel special i saw was road work and i thought it was hilarious; this is very different from his risque style from roadwork, but i still think attell is awesome and is up with my favorite comedians like Burr, CK, Carlin, etc.
Dave attell IS CAPITAL H ILARIOUS.. HIs comedic style is a throwback to the comedians of the past.. Greats like Mr. Rodney Dangerfield may he Rest in Peace.. ONE LINERS..
Dave Attell: the best comic in the United States (the world?). I've watched hundreds of them and Dave is the King. How many other comics say he's the best? Lots. Check it out. He's the cream of the crop.
Eric R 5 months ago you made your point clear👍🏿 I just scrolled a big chunk of the comments and your 2 posts are the only ones who contains hate. Maybe try removing the stick from your ass would help you in future when you click ‘comment’ ✌️
That coma at the end made me think you were gonna go into an in depth talk about how legend he was. I was merely disappointed by the hault of a typo tho 😕
Watching Road Work right before made this one kinda painful to watch tbh lol. Which is a testament to how well he’s perfected his craft and how smart it was to do a special filmed in small venues.
I forgot how revolutionary he was cause I been watching him since the 90's. His lateral thinking impacted a whole generation. And he looked so Lebanese back then.✊🏼
Dave Attell is one of the funniest comedians out there and one of the only ones that can make me laugh, but not in this special. This was tough to experience. It was like it was his first day doing comedy. He's really honed his technique since this era.

Dave Attell has probably some of the highest laughs per minute of any comedian.
Wow, I never realized it, but they have extremely similar acts, in terms of style. No wonder I love em both so much. I'd love a roast off between the two!
hes a master at his craft

I died! I laughed out loud all the way through.
He's not bullshitting for Norm Macdonald either though...
I dunno. This kinda sucks
One of the greatest comedians that ever walked the earth! Absolutely brilliant!
He is So underrated. I just discovered Dave Atell today!
You have a lot of content to check, I’m jealous bruh
His stand up “Skanks for the memories” is one of the best stand ups of all time
im checking it out and i had to stop cryin for a bit to thank you for this comment, im dying here
One of the best comedies of all time
Jaded Old Joe thanks for correcting my own opinion 😂
The first time I heard it was on mushrooms in a basement playing Wayne Gretzky's hockey on N64 with a few other dude's and we were all struggling to breathe from laughing so hard. Any subsequent listening has never failed to make me crack up. Its so good
@Jaded Old Joe What, in your opinion, would be one of the funniest of all time Sir? Would you mind to name a couple please?
One of the greatest 30 minute sets ever. Period.
This guy is funny af and is awesome in person i met him few times Dude was very humble and friendly
Attell is the best. He's not for everyone but when you get him it's great!
Undiscovered treasure , really enjoyed this guy. Jokes and delivery spot on.
He is discovered.
YOU just havent heard of him yet......well, until now.

Dam.....30 year old Dave Attell. Behold one of the top 5 best comedians of all time. Joke writing, stand up performance and pure talent.
dave attell is legend.
Giuseppe Fiorentino I remember Dave from many years ago when I used to watch Comedy Central we don't get it on the cable TV that we got now so here I am on UA-cam
Dave is factually the funniest person who ever lived
Yeah, if you've never seen a funny person
Awesome seeing Dave young. He was just as good then too. Edgy standup like this is great to listen to after a hard day at work or something
12:15 "A John Denver TAPE cost 99c, a blank tape costs $2.50!" Oh man I freaking miss cassette tapes and that whole vibe growing up in the 90s
Frigging Attell funniest guys gets me through the day. Thank You.

Dude where is this guy? I watched his show in the 90s? Couldn't wait for his stand up. One of the best in the business ever. Need more atell!!
Truly my fav comedian of all time. A real legend that too few are familiar with. Between him and Stanhope, a new standard set.
Just had that thought
I miss Insomniac lol
+DomitronProductions Dude me too. That show was fucking hilarious.
Get some sleeeeeep!
DomitronProductions that show was about what really?
DomitronProductions love that show
I saw that show when I was like 8 I still thought it was pretty great
One of his best performances! So glad this one was posted
"I didn't plan on it that's just how she passed out"
I used to stay up late when I could barely drive watching Insomniac.Dave is hilarious.
That sounds highly irresponsible and dumb but I respect it.
How is this guy not more famous?! He should be right up there with C.K., Gaffigan, Burr, and all the other great comedians of our time.
He is famous. He's regarded as the best off color comic and he is very well known
He rose up in the 90s and early 2000s. Right now, I hate to say, is almost 20 years past that.
In the comedy world, he's pretty much the most overal respected/praised comedian working today, besides probably Dave Chappelle or Norm MacDonald. The mainstream, though, is a different story. He doesn't exactly resonate with the typical casual comedy consumer, so major outlets tend to ignore him.
because the world's not fair. but im sure he makes plenty of money doing what he loves so there's that. also very respected by most of his peers.
Different era. He is way more famous than those guys they are just the "new-er" school of comics. In ten years attell will still be a household name
Like his speaking tone, make everything funny lol
+Wenqi Zhu Yes, i agree. When he says "NOW!", or "well" right after a punchline, and then you are like, "wait! What did he say??" Then you rewind, and you get the joke. It's a very good delivery!

😍Hi
Ur cute
That's golden
This is my FIRST Dave discovery & I REALLY REALLY like this guy ! ! !
He's my new FAVORITE COMEDIAN. George Carlin was my all time favorite. I love this guy!
The Taurean Carlin and the Capricorn Atell. Both down to Earth dudes.
Love this guy! Saw him in person and I laughed so hard!
I've heard him just improvising on stage. A very quick mind. One of the best stand ups alive.
Ever
Dave Attell is the greatest comedian of all time!
Dave .... why aren’t you doing more shows .... you’re freaken hilarious bro
22 yrs ago. His act has gotten better so don't judge him based only on this. If your a prude don't bother, not for you
and this act was really good too imo. never seen him have a bad set honestly
This guy is always been one of the funniest people I’ve ever seen
SO unfiltered ! I love it !!
I steal Dave's jokes all the time, and use them in normal conversation. 18:44 is probably the one I use the most.
ShortFingeredShreder Oh man, same for me!
I still use his speaking cadence to point out things ridiculous to me. I been hip to him 20 ish years now
ShortFingeredShreder gotta admit, I do too
They tend to come up more in drunk conversations.
Jaeger.
LOVE telling people the first time i did it was with the circus theme in the background. never fails to get a laugh.
