Those dresses are probably that much more accurate because of the rush you were in to make them (the peasant costume, at least; the higher class one would've been made by someone else, of course)! 😂

Hey Micarah, for future reference, the poofy inner sleeve isn't actually attached to the dress. It's just a folded piece of fabric you tuck inside the bigger sleeve, sometimes tied to a bit of ribbon at the elbow or pinned. Made them easier to clean and replace , but also means you don't have to put yourself through the hell of trying to stitch them. Sincerely A Tudor re-enactor
I too have the Moss green velvet material...for some special costume "one day". One can simply not pass such a find when its discovered. It dwells in the proverbial tickle truck with All kinds of swatches, rolls of ribbon. I still have not used the Damn green velvet. It may come in handy...Another day!

My local Ren faire is equal parts vikings, pirates, fairies, wizards, mermaids, and mythical creatures along with anything that may have been worn in any area of the world from about 900-1650. 🤷🏼♀️ Every year they try to narrow the definition of what is acceptable and every year people complain and wear their pirate fairy costumes anyway.

This literally happened last week, we were going to the Ren Faire and my husband and I decided that we (as well as our 1 year old) should dress up and I did most of it in two days, out of bed sheets and random material I had laying around. This literally happened last week, we were going to the Ren Faire and my husband and I decided that we (as well as our 1 year old) should dress up and I did most of it in two days, out of bed sheets and random material I had laying around. The whole time I was thinking, I should get on Instagram and ask Micarah to make a video on renaissance costumes.

Okay, I was inordinately excited when she started decorating, I’m almost ashamed of myself. And I went to the Ren Fair in May (with a significantly less impressive costume), so this video brought back some fun memories for me…including my disappointment the first time I went to the Ren Fair that it wasn’t more historically accurate 😅

I really want Micarah to recommend outfits for me/ dress me and style me. Atm I am 21/ 22 in December and I want to be more fun, girly and trendy with my wardrobe. Bit alas, I am a student and low on money, plus size where its hard to find things like good jeans for me, and fast fashion will just end up ripping. Would really love to see what Micarah would recommend for outfit ideas. She would be such a fun stylist.
