As someone with social anxiety, can confirm going in costume helps me. I went to Comic Con alone once, and the days I went in my cosplay were much less stressful than the day I went in my street clothes, despite the fact that people kept stopping me to ask for a picture :)
This absolutely fascinates me. I've never had a real creative drive toward costumes, it's just not my thing really (though I love to see other people be creative and enjoy things, which I suppose is obvious since I'm here lol), so I've often wondered what people get out of it apart from just creative play, since there are many ways to get creative play ... And this thread is starting to help me get my head around it, I think. Personally I've only developed social anxiety the last few years after some acute experiences of isolation, but I've found using a bit of makeup in phases now and then helps me overcome it, especially on days when I feel most averse to being seen but have to go to the store or something. For me it feels like a disguise to step into, even if I don't really feel inside like I'm put-together and ready to face the world. I'm finally right now connecting the dots between that feeling and the idea of stepping into a "role"/portraying a character that's different from one's sense of inner self. I wonder if maybe part of the reason costumes help alleviate social anxiety for some people is because a costume just automatically unambiguously says to others "this is who I am/who to see me as" when the wearer gets perceived, and thus lets the wearer just rest inside a substitute identity for a while instead of having to stay constantly consciously aware of their own. Like ... when you think about it, the term "self-conscious" literally simply means being conscious of the self. I can see why it'd be nice to take a break from that. And now I kind of understand my lack of costume drive better, too, because I've always been the opposite to a fault lol. Self-awareness of who I am/present as in a social/role way used to be very hard for me, and I never was clear for a long time on what people meant by talking about "identity" until I got really introspective about it these last few years of growth and trauma resolution (might be because I'm autistic, might just be me, idk lol). So yeah, I'm new to the whole self-consciousness experience but it caused me to learn to enjoy makeup, and now hearing you all out about cosplay helping ease social anxiety has given me a lot to reflect on. I think I just learned a lot about myself and about others just from exploring this concept. Thank you OP and Micarah and everyone else who shares about these kinds of personal psychological experiences. I love learning from them :D

I am never disappointed in Micarah’s videos like what the heck she always boosts my mood 😂😂 I’m sorry the teeth procedure was poopy but hope you the best!
"Why does your daughter's cat have noodles all around it's neck?"
"It's......ropes...."
Me: 🤨
That raises more than noodles
Yeah what was that about???
Oh no, this is much worse.
A full video of the yellow dress is a Must. I hope we will get to see the barbie Christmas dress aswell. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Trinidad is also voting for a full-length yellow dress video! 🇹🇹
I remember having one of those ashes cookies, I should have suspected that girl had done something weird (she did start the first ever cult at my school) to them but never would have thought that there were ashes in them.
I am invested in this story now. Continue....
@@juniper2346 the cult wasn’t that Intresting they just wore a lot of face paint lol
Disney really needs to hire her 😭 she can sing, dance and act. they using height as an excuse cause she way too good for Disney 😤
She can sing And Dance And Pierce Her Lip With A Dress Making Pin 📌 And Act
NOOOO! If she went to work for disney she would never ever make videos for us for fun! disney would make that stop.
Maybe as live action. But for the parks they have certain costumes and want consistency. If she's tall enough she can be the evil queen
the more i watch your videos the more i realize that you are just the most interesting person ever
But can we talk about how beautiful Micara’s singing voice is!
11:05 Gereon's little giggle fit was adorable 😊💕
Growing up gay I was always told that it wasn’t okay to be myself, that I had to act a certain way and hide. I admire Micarah immensely in that she is herself, all the time, zero cares given. I hope I can be as awesome as she is some day.
I loved the way you danced and sang around town as Belle. Truly iconic! The Elsa outfit is great, too!
I like how her sister winning a pageant is just a 2-minute sequence casually in a video about princess dresses
Micarah- at this point You are a living princess✨ Like honestly your so talented, two years ago you were the reason I got into sewing! Thank you and I hope
You have happy holidays
I would LOVE to see a full video for a Belle dress! By the way, my condolences on the pain you went through while making this incredible video!! 💞💞
ahhh, condolences received. Thank you
watching this while sewing my 18 th century gown is perfect motivation and entertainment!
You should make a princess Merida costume :D
Then you'd have to come up with different clues :D
Plus she's just one of my favorite princesses...
Your dad's confusion when you asked about his inventions was absolutely beautiful
All your friends dressed like the Beverly Hillbillies was ICONIC. I know we only saw it for a split second, but it is amazing.
what you said about wearing a costume in public for social anxiety really hit me like yes micarah i will go make a poorly constructed princess costume and wear it while i roller skate thank you (this is not sarcastic u have really inspired me)
I remember going to the grocery store to shop for food right after my confirmation and I had on my puffy white dress with gold flowers. I had an elderly lady start a coversation and two little girls and their mother smiling and saying how pretty I looked. I really want a reason to wear more big dresses in public.
You are your own disney princess like what you're so talented I can't handle this
I usually skip the sponsorship part of videos but Micarah makes it so entertaining that I gladly listen about her sponsors.
16:10 Can we just stop and talk about how BEAUTIFUL your voice is?! One of your many talents!!!
micarah has always had a wonderful singing voice, as well as lots of sewing skills and talent, loved the video
She has the talent and confidence I wish I could have
that "wear a costume to have something to talk about" tip is a good one. I was NOT confident or comfortable w myself when I first became a barista so I started wearing t-shirts with cool designs or things I like, which would regularly prompt positive conversation and got me good at conversing with strangers real quick
I absolutely love your daytime cinderella costume, it's great for when you need to clean the house.
I literally was thinking 5 minute ago, “I really hope Micarah posts a video soon”
I’m psychic
i once, no, *thrice* , guessed my way to first place in kahoot
@@mn3io EYYYYY ME TOO 😂
To answer your question about Bell's yellow dress, I would love to see a full length video! 💛💛💛
That’s how you know she’s homeschooled; her soul isn’t entirely broken
The video was entertaining as it always is. But can we also talk about the singing? The vocals were there pure talent.
5:56 your singing with the background music sounded amazing here! It really really worked with the music, I replayed that moment literally five times because it pleased my earholes 🤣🤣
im still in shock from how easily she just pierced her lip w a sewing pin 😭😭
I vote for full length Belle dress because your content is my fav and I want to see ALL OF IT
Your lack of anxiety is amazing. I love that about you. I know these videos really take time but whenever I ask myself “hm, I haven’t seen any new video yet” i check my notifications and in a day maximum I see one. Keep doing them, you are great at this job. God bless you😇
Your channel always makes me smile. The hilarious narrating is unlike any UA-camr. Even though I have no idea how to sew, these videos are just so inspiring and entertaining!
i found this channel yesterday and i can't stop watching i literally love you
“If you have a great support system; loving parents, wonderful siblings… you’ll never be a princess.”
That’s so true; whether in real life or fantasy, most princesses lives are traumatic. 😭
I can see the evolution of both Bernadette Banner and Micarah Tewers binge watching all of each other’s videos in today’s releases hahahah
Would love to see your take on the Six costumes from Broadway!
Aurora was the ONLY princess I guessed before you told us. The black corset was the clue I needed.
Your literally a Disney princess and I’m loving it
I've walked around in public as a princess many times, can confirm it is fun, even when you get weird looks in tesco
Also please full length video on yellow belle!!
Belle has two sisters. If I remember correctly the father asked all of them what they wanted from his travels and the two sisters wanted dresses, jewelry and stuff like that and Belle wanted "just" a rose, which isn't easy to get in the middle of the WINTER!!! and the only place he could find one is at the beasts castle.
We love Micarah being the Disney Princess we all knew she was 🤣💓
Micarah, you're literally my fav youtuber ever. you deserve a lot more subs. your contents are actually good and entertaining. i just wish you post more often, but again that totally up to you, right haha. so, thats it, i just wanna let you know, you're a confident woman, have the best personality and you're my inspiration. love you!
(ps: i don't talk english daily, it isn't my first language, and i don't comment on people's channel often)
of course both! full length video AND tiktok, please!
Please do a full length video of making Belle's dress! I'd love that so much!
