  • Why is it that #bollywood celebrities over a period of time lose touch and objectivity. With success and power, why does delusion set it? When you look at the case of the #singhamagain director #rohitshetty , what happened with the likes of #govinda and #sunnydeol , the likes of #ramgopalvarma and several examples of celebrated directors like #shankar and #purijagannadh , Is a shelf life and irrelevance obvious? I hope you like The Rise & Fall Of 'Out Of Touch' Bollywood Celebrities

This is why I find MANI RATNAM so inspirational. Decades has passed since he has been in the industry but still tries his best to evolve with time. Yes PS1 and 2 might not justify his legendary legacy but still you won't find too much fault in his sensibilities that most yesteryear directors struggle with🙌Waiting for him to reinvent class n mass with Thug Life 🔥

I agree friend , coz all who've seen his classic love stories like alaipayuthey, roja , bombay and all those would have never thought he'd make an almost perfect new age love story like OK kanmani one day . Kudos to him ✨️ 🌟 👏

@@ruchiadiyou’re right, along with Anil Kapoor I would also like to add Jackie shroff and Sanjay Dutt who never shy away from playing diverse character as well as villain roles. For Govinda unfortunately nothings seems to work out because of his ego and refusal to adopt to character roles.

I always rooted for Varun Dhawan as an actor. One of the few starkids who doesn't feel like a starkid and has connect with audience especially youngsters of my age who are born after 2000. I think David Dhawan always wanted him to follow the the govinda route of films like main tera hero, judwaa, coolie no. 1 etc, which never worked. Maybe insta reels will portray people still remembering main tera hero but even films like flying jatt is considered meme material.
Finally now i can see Varun Dhawan is going on the right track with Citadel, Bhediya sequel and upcoming Baby John. From which Baby John is the movie I'm most looking forward to.

S Shankar, Rajkumar Hirani and now Rohit Shetty are recent examples of making parodies of their own films thinking, 'this worked earlier, so this will work again'. Just see their recent films, Indian 2, Dunki and Singham again all feels like their previous films but a 2016 style youtube parody.
This might be a very hot take, but i felt Lokesh Kanagaraj especially in the 'Leo reveal' sequence in climax also made it look like a parody. I'm saying this despite neing the biggest Lokesh Kanagaraj fan boy you will ever meet. Loved Kaithi, loved Vikram, but Leo nah! 👀

Bro, please dont compare a director like Rajkumar Hirani with others. He didnt made Dunki as a cash grab scheme. It was made with all heart, just it was not his usual character driven movie and it had a social issue as a driving factor of the story this time. Agreed it felt different and didnt match the humor and wit of his other movies and also some emotional scenes felt rushed. But overall impact of it was beautiful and heartwarming.

Every song has arjit singh(not saying he is bad, infact he's the best in music industry, but seriously why does every song in every movie from nowadays have him, it's like the other artist have completely vanished) there is no versatility in songs anymore
Every f*cking song sounds the same with same instrument and autotune with same singer in every song (arjit).

    Such a relevant topic Anmol.
On a lighter note, why didn't you put Faridoon's achha?
On a serious note, Farhan and Farha are indeed the need of the hour.

I'm really kinda sad that missed the review of martin, I saw the notification 'matlab kuchh bhi...martin' but I was busy with work, I thought I'll catch up after returning home but I didn't find the video I think and then I didn't think too much of it then but it must have been good for them to get triggered like that.

My entire understanding of cinema was shaped by S. Shankar. I grew up watching his films. He was, and still is, my idol. his film like NAYAK, ANNIYAN, SHIVAJI and "I" made me who i am today. But it's also true that his recent movie making style don't have the same impact. However, he will always remain my guru."

Imagine if Govinda playing some psychotic gray character . He is such amazing actor stuck in comedy only(which I love) but I want to see him all and all bad.

I agree with all your points.
I also want to add one thing and get into the psyche of the matter:
Do you know why talented actor or director fail to evolve?
    I think:
They have convictions on their hard learned talents and they found success in them and even thinking of learning again something new at a certain age, is tiring and not so confident inducing. Which to do? Learn new things that are not tried and tested? Or apply the same things that brought success? That is why Sandeep Reddy Vanga is going to sustain longer, because there is a requirement for madness in trying new things. He has that madness. Still. But if he gets comfortable, he will not be the same.
It’s no joke to put so much effort and make a movie and then when it fails their confidence is shattered.
I believe Scorsese is really focused on his craft and process. He is doing the things the same way he did but updates technology and puts enormous effort. Luckily for us his films made money and he is still confident in his crafts.
Also sorry to say but I think Farhan Akter knows that he needs to update with the ideas and needs to bring out something that will be revolutionary in the film making because the pressure is so high that he needs to be sure. So we just have to wait for him to find his right medium.

It would be a tragedy to overlook the contributions of Vikram Adityamotwani, who not only gave us a pivotal coming-of-age story but also turned into a beloved film icon for many moviegoers with Lootera. The man has consistently evolved into a new generation of directors, not to mention Jubblie.
By the way, this album by Amit Trivedi and Vikram is a certified masterpiece 😃

But shankar did not deserve to be a part of this phenomenon man, it pains to see the director who made Aparichit/Anniyan, Nayak, Sivaji, Robot which were way ahead of their time, is now making movies like 2.0, Indian 2. 😐😐
