Again only going by a variety of videos and one of the main things is that any of those lanolin products have to be re applied year after year it would seem. Nice video. I've owned quite a few 4x4 trucks starting in 1975 when I bought my first new one. It was a Chevy K10 short bed 4x4. 350 auto, 4.11 gears, locking rear, a/c. I loved that truck. It was good everywhere I wanted to take it and easy to work on. It had a rubber floor and full vinyl seat. I paid around $5500 as I remember. I've owned Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Toyota in all different trims. My favorite though was my 96 Dodge with a Cummins. My last brand new one was a 2004 Dodge with a Cummins. I had to go to a smaller truck because of my wife's medical issues. So I bought a 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4 used. I'm not partial to any. As one can see I've owned a sample of all. BUT, I won't buy anymore new trucks regardless of the nameplate simply because of all the computers and other BS. And the prices, good grief. I can afford a new truck but you all know that with the current onboard computer and communication capabilities that you can be monitored by the factory without your knowledge. With all the complexity that's built into trucks now comes reliability issues. Just my $.02

It’s definitely the look that people like right now. It is just a fad though and will eventually be replaced with something else. Always happens this way.
The luxury part is definitely here to stay. This has been happening with trucks since the late 90s because trucks are more and more used as primary family vehicles instead of just work vehicles.
A crew cab 4WD 1/2 ton pickup is just about the perfect vehicle in my opinion. They ride good. They get pretty good fuel mileage. They have a lot of power. And they can do just about anything most families want to do. Now the 3/4 and SRW 1 ton trucks are starting to take that crown because of the added capabilities that they have. But they do suffer in ride and fuel economy.

I'll be totally honest I really like the looks of most new trucks in the HD series in all brands. I'm a GM guy so it would definitely be that brand. But as far as these packages offered on these trucks and there is a lot of nice options however with these prices I just can't afford a new one he k I can't afford a 5 year old truck, well I can but I refuse to let a payment dictate and alter my lifestyle. Vehicles in general has went off the charts. Many people are paying more for car payment than mortgages or rent and that's crazy. I guess I just haven't figured out how people afford these new vehicles but they're definitely plenty on the road or I'm doing something really wrong. I currently have a $450 payment on a 2011 yukon denali but it's a short term loan. And that was a hard pill to swallow for me up to this point I never had a car note payment over $325. That being said I never have purchased a new vehicle either! Hope prices come down at some point but I doubt they will now they've been way overpriced for about 5 years now so I never see it going backwards. And the sadest part is vehicles almost 10 years old are worth more on a lot than what they was new.... crazy... but I enjoy watching your channel and as always providing great info to us folks! And at the end of the day i just want a truck i can pull my dump trailer when needed and enclosed 14 ft trailer and have a good ac and heater. The basics!

My 2024 Silverado LT 3500 SRW came with 33 inch 275/70/18s. Why a 3500? The 4k pound payload capacity can handle the weight of bigger tires, running boards and aftermarket bumpers. I now run Toyo RT Trail 37/12.5/18s with a 4 inch Cognito and black badging. I can park my LT with the “refreshed” grille next to any stock High Country or GMC Denali and it’s my truck people ask about. Now why is that? Like the video said, most are not going off road, they simply like the looks. The Trail Boss package will be a big hit for that very reason. I don’t think many care about the ride quality as much. Granted my 37s allow for a max 65psi vs 80psi which gives a softer ride. There is a reason the AEV 3/4 ton trims have a $105k price tag. The looks.

None of what you're saying matters the packages don't matter the accessories that they put on these trucks doesn't matter what matters is they saw there for a period of time that they could charge ridiculous prices for things raise their prices and people are actually paying it now people aren't paying for it. They don't want to pay these ridiculous prices for all these extra add-ons and features and trim packages so they're not buying anything. You could take $25,000 off of $75,000 pick up and people still most likely will not buy it. They're just fed up with the manufacturers taking total advantage of the consumer but now they can't backpedal because they're stuck with the profit margins that their accountants are looking for I don't feel bad for them at all. The only thing that we is consumers can do is to buy much lower trim level related vehicles and hopefully get huge discounts and rebates on them. That's all we can do.

I wish you would have asked the folks that elected an off road vehicle, how many would go off road or use the truck to its capabilities. Also, capture their age. My wife (71 yo) recently bought a Bronco, she wanted off road. Her idea is off road is driving the 2 plus miles of dirt roads to our home.
I'm into the lux, too old for off road. All three look nice on the outside, RAM has the best interior and I really like the GM redesigned interiors. Ford, no so much, the displays remind me of older arcade games.

If I can ever afford new again, I will buy a Ram 2500, crew cab, 8ft box, 4x4 with a Hemi. I prefer cloth seats and NO sunroof. I don't get why anyone would want a sunroof on a truck.

I didn't like that truck was eating too much gas and back end was too high to trailer right so I gave it back and grabbed a dually instead and never been happier. If no towing and just offroading it the hemi works anything else it's not the best for.

I did the same in 2019. Bought a loaded up Laramie and lifted it on premium suspension all around, and 35” tall Ridge Grapplers. Borla S-type catback exhaust. Looks big and mean, and is still a comfy luxe truck inside and rich with features

Anyone that wants to tow heavy trailers needs to do their homework. The AT4X is a beautiful truck, but it is not rated to tow as much or haul as much as a SLT or even a Denali. Not that people are buying big trucks for mileage, but the AT4X will be the worst!

I have a question: if your poll shows that people prefer off-road over luxury, what is the thought process of getting both? I believe that more people picked off-road over luxury for not just ruggedness, but to also use the truck for its purpose and in hopes to bring the price down. I wouldn't buy an $80,000 truck to take it off-road. I think these manufacturers are out of touch with reality as to what people really want. And it doesn't help that businesses buy these expensive trucks so that they get a tax write off. I'm not bashing anyone who does, I'm just speaking my opinion. Feel free to educate me if you wish, as this is just an opinion formed from my perception, not data. Thanks for the video!

It makes no sense to pay 100k for a luxury truck that you will never off-road and stays in the shop to the point you abandon ship. Build an affordable low tech 300k mile truck with a 200k mile drivetrain warranty.
