I say this not to be rude but to hopefully share some insight, you will encounter this issue at every company. A lot of companies take the "cookie cutter" approach to develop a solution whether it be software related or hardware related, solely based on what has worked in the past. There are very few companies that want to develop applications in house from scratch. I've been a QA tester for about 7 years working for 3 different companies, in 3 distinct industries (Airline, Finance, and Medical). All of the companies I have worked for want the fast and easy solution. They look at whatever product it is that is currently being used and they try to develop a strategy to apply band-aids so to speak to whatever the problem is. Thats not to say working on a brand new, and innovative software is dismissed wholesale, but most companies are looking for ways to cut budgets and just enhance what already exists. I can relate to the boredom piece, I just hope that a few years down the line you don't think back and say you made a mistake.
Sorry to hear you're leaving! I'm joining the same course as you at the end of September and wondered how often you went into the office compared to working from home. All the best for the future and thank you for your Accenture videos :)
Wishing you all the best for your career at Accenture! I used to go into the office around 1 to 3 times a week, depends if anyone I knew was going to be in.
It’s a consulting firm brother, not a tech company. Consulting has pretty high churn rate anyway for the very reasons you brought up. Good for learning though.
A honest observation is that you will hardly have things to build from scratch in 90% company, and the reason is that they have their applications built and they don't want it broken. You may have new features to implement from scratch but most of the time you just come as a support.
Honestly couldn’t relate more. I stayed at Accenture for 1 year before leaving for all of the same reasons. My project was planned in a waterfall capacity and once the rubber hit the road us devs found some unknowns that shook the timeline and we were stuck in limbo waiting for a 3rd party team to alter their product that we were integrating for a client. I was barely making enough to afford rent and couldn’t help but look elsewhere. Their training is great but only because they don’t care if you’re on the bench because they’re not paying much in the first place. I couldn’t stand the bureaucracy. You can spot a cliff you’re heading towards on a project but when everything’s planned out by analyst a year in advance, good luck convincing the client or anyone to change course.
Sounds like Accenture is another classic stereotype of what a consulting firm is like; rinse and repeat, statement of works and duplication of development for customers
Sad to hear that you're leaving 😢but it honestly sounds like you've made the best decision for yourself & your career interests and that's all that matters!
SA64R@: Thank you man>>>. by the way I'm a Indian and wanted to become a astronaut in NASA. (I'm class 9 now :)) can you suggest a better college to me? by the way this is just a request... hope ill get reply soon... #waiting for reply......🙂🙂
About your role before in accenture, are you also do meeting with client to work on their office? or doing some gather requirement for them? or just doing purely coding to implement all the features did already define by other person division?
Hey Sagar!!! So sorry to hear you’re leaving, but it seems you have great things in store for you. I’m joining on the same scheme as you next year- would you say with the grads there’s a consensus that you sort of work at accenture for a bit, then move on to better (higher paid) roles?
I honestly, think it depends on who you are as a person, some people are happy to just stay at Accenture as they like the nature of the work and the comfort of not having to move companies but others like me want to explore and see what opportunities lie outside of Accenture. However, the consesus in the world of tech is that if you do move between companies, you will learn a wider range of skills, build more connections and you will make a significant amount of more money in your career compared to someone who is stays at one company.
Hello there, please I need to ask about something ( There is someone called Mia Hanifa saying that he's a product manager at Accenture saying that they need freelancers to ransfer some files to PDF format for a certain price... they contacted me throgh telegram and it sounds as if they're scammers) they sent to me a contract from accenture assuring that they're real and legal... please I want to know about this?!!!!
Awesome video, though I still don't quite get for what type of people is Accenture (or other IT consultants) recommended for. Maybe those who are switching careers, IT fresh graduates, or any other conditions? 🤔
You're saying that the work you're doing at Acn is not creative enough, and you don't have enough say and ownership. Are you in Application services at Acn? If so, what about something like Technology Innovation services?
Yeh well I mean you got to look at the business as a whole, revenue per person is much much lower than at a product tech company so you're bound to have better pay there with the added creativity and ownership of your work.
Hi :) I would really be keen to talk to you as I am about to make the decision whether to leave my job and join Accenture in the Technical Architect graduate program and finding it so hard! Would be great to ask some questions if you have time?
At uni, did you consider financial services/banking, and if so what reasons did you not go into it? I’m 2nd year Aero and thinking about software or finance, kinda stuck between which one to go into.
Actually everything depends on what you expect from a company and work. In my case, I work in functional QA and I really like accenture, but I also understand the point expressed by the friend in the video
I’ve always worked in a service company as a technical consultant. It’s great to hear the different perspective.
Accenture is a consulting company. So you will work on the existing project. Sometimes even product support work not coding related.
Why are you explaining what he already knows since he's worked there?

This is a wonderful breakdown of your experience, you can tell you put in the time and effort into structuring your video.

Interesting concept to think about the product vs service companies. Hadn’t thought about it in that depth. Eye opening as always!
Thanks man
Thanks for the video, really insightful learning from someone who’s now in the industry!

Thanks for showing a detailed explanation on Accenture. I agree with a lot of the points that you made! Great video overall! :)
Looking forward to seeing your next video!!
My experience was very similar, except I was on the bench the whole time and didn’t really do much work as a software developer

@@SA64R I saw a post about a guy that got 85k+ fresh out of college and a 7k sign on from Acn, is that rare?
Edit: 88.6k base and 10k starting bonus

Hi :) I would really be keen to talk to you as I am about to make the decision whether to leave my job and join Accenture in the Technical Architect graduate program and finding it so hard! Would be great to ask some questions if you have time?
Should maybe create a video on the SWE interview process at Accenture. I heard there was no whiteboarding. Was this true?
This is true, interview process for a SWE at ACN is not like a tech company, well because ACN is not really a tech company
At uni, did you consider financial services/banking, and if so what reasons did you not go into it?
