- Hey everyone tonight we did a little bit of an experiment to see if you really can cook steaks in the airfryer without them coming out dry and tough check out the video to see the outcome
Enjoy!!!
Directions: preheat the airfryer to 400° put steaks in the basket for 6 minutes at 400° flip over cook another 6 minutes at 400° for medium-rare steaks
For rare steaks, cook about 6 to 8 minutes
Medium steaks should be cooked about 8 to 10 minutes
Well-done steaks take a good 10 to 12 minutes.
I just tried this out tonight and it was sooooo good! I took one of the tips from the comments, cooked it for 10 min instead then hard sear for a min each side on the pan (0.5 tbsp of oil). It’s so easy and cooked perfectly! No mess and I don’t overcook my steak. And I was able to multitask and cook my sides easily without having to watch the steak. Will definitely be doing this again!
Nice!!!
Those look excellent !!!!! Going to give this a try ! Thanks !
I love how detailed and well paced your video is! Makes it very easy to follow and understand. ❤
Thank you so much!
Love the chef! And his little voice is so cute ❤️💙
Cooked perfect!! I'm making one tonight so I watched you! Thanks!
Thank you!!
Words cannot describe! Ty 😀
It looks delicious. I've tried a couple on my first temporary air fryer and they were both overcooked. I can't wait to try with my new one.
I just bought a air fryer about a week ago. I been cooking all kinds of stuff. I turned some fries into charcoal last night.🤣 That was the first thing I burnt. I made some stuffed red peppers. Those turned out pretty good. Cooking with an air fryer is a little different. I was following the directions on the bag. 400F for 18-20 minutes for a conventional oven. Air fryer must cook alot faster.
I like to under cook in the air fryer and then give it a HARD sear on the cast iron while buttering to finish it off. Makes just about as good of a steak as you can get anywhere.
This comforts me, I feel so sad and be here just to have a remedy like “c’mon air fryer isn’t bad”. My mom just bought a one temp air fryer and she overcooked the shit out of the wings and the steaks. It was like less salty jerky.
If you keep the pan in the fryer while pre heating the steak will have a nice broiled searing on the meat
Great idea!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for taking the time to record & share this, I will give it a go.
Let us know how you like it!
Hi there guy's the steak still not ready to be eaten you can see inside
That steak is still not ready blood still inside there
So the best way is to chopping with a Fork or a Small Knife just to Chop's on that Steaks on the top and down after you mixed with a Spices
Every where because this action will allowed the heat to got inside the
Steaks. Thanks
Love the channel.
Laughed at the salt comment. No matter who's in the room when I salt something, I either get told to add more, or get the sodium speech hahaha
Thanks 😂
😍 why are people disliking it. I tried it. It came out absolutely delicious
Probably because its sounds too good to be true and they haven't tried it. Tfw!!!
Have been cooking steaks and chops in my Air Fryer for a year or two.... but your ways looooook Great , Jucy and all..
Thanks. I love our air fryer
I'm going to try this it looks good!! Thanks🙂
We were pleasantly surprised!Tfw
great plate
This really helped. Thank you!
Thank you for watching
I just bought a cuisinart air fryer oven an toaster ,, they work
Great,,, good job)
Thanks
Your steak came out awesome good job
Thank you!
Thank you... another wonderful video .
I also liked the plate it looks to be a vintage Noritake.
Haven't seen this pattern before can you tell us anything about it?
Thanks...my husband got them as a gift from cabelas nothing special but special to me
That sure looks well done. We like rare.
10 mins both side for a 1” thick rib eye. Perfect to a tad over medium rare. Super tasty!!!!
Yum
I have a Philips XXL air fryer. The guide says to cook beef at 400, but when I do it smokes like crazy. I've tried putting a little water in the bottom, but it just makes everything take longer to cook and I worry about the water affecting the heating element. So, I decided that lowering the temperature to 325 accomplishes the same objective and I don't have to worry about water damaging the heating element. Using the $50 grill plate, it takes almost 2 mins longer to cook a ribeye steak, and it seems to cook more evenly. I still get the sear that I'm looking for because of the grill plate and the center of the steak looks perfect. If you're going to be cooking steaks in your Philips air fryer, the grill plate accessory is a must have.
You may have already figured this out, but you can use a high smoke point oil. Avocado oil is good. Also, the temperature of the air fryer is not as important as the internal temperature of the 🥩 . Monitor that.
I do my steaks in the air fryer all the time since I just cook for myself, they've always turned out great.
The air fryer was meant for making a delicious steak! I love my air fryer so far.
What brand and size air fryer did you get? I'm just getting into them, and bought a 2 quart at first and it was hard to cook so I took it back and got a 4 quart but it takes up too much counter space. I'd appreciate your advice.
Naughty, you're preparing the smallest one for hubby 🤣🤣🤣
😉🤣🤣🤣
I noticed that too
I use a Ninja Foodie. It says you can cook from frozen but I think its probably better thawed 1st. Any comments on that?
Well done Melissa, l asked for it to be done well ? Now I am confusing myself . I think the more stuff you put on a good steak , your odds of ruining it go up but . Not you , scented butter is smart as you add to your taste and cooked very well . Meat is not easily done well , sorry couldn't help myself . I am feeling better about using my first air fryer . Thanks .
Made a lot of steaks on the air fryer. Was always missing something. Compound butter. Good call. SUBSCRIBE!!
Also, I'll be trying this recipe as soon as my air fryer is delivered. I like seasoning on my steaks too and will also try the compound butter.
I hope you live your airfryer as much as I do lol!
@@MelissasKitchenTable Hello Melissa, I love it. I purchased the Cuisinart Air Fryer/Toaster Oven and made your recipe. It was BOMB... and it cooks so fast. Thank you 🙆🏾♀️
Awesome!!
Yummy !!!!!
What are the best cuts of steaks to use for air fryer? what if I do not have the best of cuts? How do we cook that and what to add to it to make is juicy and nice?
I've cooked all different cuts of steak in the airfryer. Rib eye is our favorite. To ensure its juicy, dont over cook it.
Honestly I believe Tenderloin is the best, followed by ribeye and lastly New York strip.IMHO!
Always a good idea to pull this type of air fryer a few inches out from the wall when cooking...having it up against the wall while cooking is not a good idea 😳😳there is a lot of heat involved and lot of ventilation that’s needed... even the manufacturers require you to do this...basic air frying 101.
Hi For a lower Wattage stove...would one just have to cook a bit longer? To get the same results as on yours?
A regular oven or air fryer?
You gave your husband the small piece... 😎
Hi can you help me out urgent please. I've got this fryer arrived today. In the very bottom under where the backet fits, the base, there a rubber grommet towards the back, does that stay in there or do I remove please? It's the 5L one Thanks
Try it out and let us know
😋😎

Thank you, I've got that air cooker arriving tomorrow, how long for well done steak please as don't like it red? X
10 to 12 minutes each side depending on thickness
@@MelissasKitchenTable thank you xx
@@Lynn-zw7dr anytime!!!

@@Lynn-zw7dr what exact model do you have
I prefer a little less red in middle. Perhaps 7 minutes each side instead of 6. Of course its an individual taste thing. Great video.
Yes, thank you
I would say if it's a fresh stake I'll just cook it for 10 minutes, if it's a frozen stake 15 minutes including how big the frozen stake is.
But a air fryer cooks a good stake and they are so tinder when I cook one in the one I use.
The steaks I have are grass fed from a local farm which is why they are lean they are not select choice.
I dont want to eat a stake I will stick to eating steak lol
Melissa's Kitchen Table is
Melissa to you just cook it on air fry or do you do the broil button?
I use air fry.
Why wouldn’t you heat the basket up too so that when the steaks will sear when they hit it?
You can if you want to.
Because it's thin aluminum sheet metal. It won't store enough heat to do any appreciable searing. It would be the same as tried to sear a steak with a cookie sheet heated to 400 degrees in your oven.
I tried it last night next time I'll just cook it in the cast iron skillet
FYI.... move your air fryer from the wall, you're blocking the vent in the back!
Yes I normally do.
Mine came dry . Was not happy with the result
Shouldn't you preheat the basket too? I've seen everyone else do it when they preheat
You can.
Way undercooked for me, and I am surprised it didn't come out crispy. I am thinking about purchasing an air fryer... I recon I could simply cook a little longer...
Yes!
Gorgeous nails!
She gives her husband the little steak... Poor bastard.
Haha. Gives her husband the smaller steak
This Awesome! My steak was perfect.😋
Oh I'm so glad!!!
After patting steaks you should have washed hands before grabbing the salt.
How is the smell from cooking a steak in the air fryer Vs a broiler? Thanks!!!
No smell really also no smoke. The only time it smokes up as if you cook something too greasy for too long that's only happened to me once.
@@MelissasKitchenTable thats awesome, I was debating should I buy an electric grill for cooking foods that smoke up the house and keep it outdoors, but it seems that air fryer is an excellent option for this indoors in the kitchen
Those steaks, from the appearance, seemed awfully lean.
Yes, that's because they are grass fed.
I hate grass fed beef.
I’d want mine done without the red. How long would you recommend for that?
I would say 8 min each side.
I'm with you.
If you cut into it and it needs a Band-Aid it's not cooked.
How bout Medium Well?
Im guessing 8 minutes?
Yea 8 mins per side. Tfw
@@MelissasKitchenTable Thanks!
Why would you want to burn a perfectly good piece of steak?
@@stevefarris9433 I eat mine Lite Pink, still tender.
ribeye, skirt or fillet mignon are the only good cuts. shell (or strip) don't have enough fat and cook up too dry and tough.
I buy strip steak and it always comes out great
They didn't have any ribeyes the last time and I did strips...fantastic.
Why garlic.
U
Must be thicker than i expexted. Im looking for a steak internal temp to be 125°
You said that your husband love pepper o.k. but you have your husband the little steak and you got the big steak yes I noticed
😉
How long for well done
I believe 9 min per side
hi......what type of meat is this?
Grassfed sirloin steak. Any steak about an inch thick will work
@@MelissasKitchenTable Thanks, Melissa.........got to give this a try.............
@@suddeninspirations8184 I hope you enjoy!
What kind of meat is that
Sirloin
Why did the husband get the short steak? Whats the deal?
Because he misbehaved 🤣
So.... 12 minutes at 400.
For medium rare
This doesn’t seem to sear well.
No it doesn't
The air fryer she is using is far from good for a family. I have a Kalorik Air Fryer. While it is excellent, it lacks a thermometer to set to exact internal temp. I believe Emeralds has that feature. Both have rotisseries
I have a family of 2 and works just fine. You can get the size that works for your family.
Try the AIR FRYER OVEN DELUCE FROM GoWISEUSA AND YOU WONT HAVE TO TURN THE STEAK. Mmmmmmmm. I cooked a flank steak yesterday in the attachment that goes on the Rotisserie, 5-6 minutes and it was the best steak i have ever cooked.
cheechakozakable is
@@estherlewis6317 The Cheechako from Chicago
Steaks !! Probably come from AUSTRALIA...we sell USA half of your lamb and beef....great stuff eh..
Nope they come from a local farm in Woodbury CT.
To raw for me. Needs a few more minutes.lol
To done for me. Need enough pink juices left in the plate to sop up with by Italian bread.
needs some ketchup
EW. No sear?? Don't put your steak in an air fryer people. Cast iron, smoking hot, oil, sear both sides and finish in oven. DONE. Perfect steak. This air fryer steak looks gray and partially steamed. Don't waste your hard earned money on steak if you're going to steam it like this lol
lmao dumbfuck you're supposed to put it in the oven first, then sear it
OK it's looks good but accepts one thing and I just I want most of you guy's
To focus on this point first the Steaks are OK on the top only this is means up and Down but what about inside the the Steaks so is not cooked OK guy's You can see that Steaks still not Ready to be eat.
But here's the best way just after you mixes the Spice's just Chopping
The Steak with Fork or a Small Knife just Chop's every where on the Steak's then Cook it with Air fryer that's all. Thanks
The inside isn't cooked? This sounds like you have a personal preference for extra well-done steaks (which is a travesty in my opinion).
In reality the *only* portion of a steak that needs to get cooked for safety is the outside, since that's the only part that's exposed to bad bacteria. I've been eating steaks that are seared blue (where the inside is essentially raw) for a LONG time with zero ill effects. It's all about personal preference :)
What you've described sounds like shoe leather... the video had the steaks cooked to a medium/medium-well level already.
They look perfect! Any professional chef would say they should be cooked medium rare so you can taste the actual flavor of the meat. Once you start over cooking the meat and dont see the blood thats when the flavor profile changes. Its definitely a choice of yours to over cook it, but the way she cooked it is perfection!
Cook me a steak as you describe and I'll be - let's go with extremely upset. I prefer mine to look more like the ones in the video (with pepper, please), or a little less done than that even. Certainly not more than that unless it's absolute shoe leather, in which case it's best to just cut thin strips across the grain and hit it with a skillet for a few minutes.
It's TOO close to the wall! Don't you read the instructions?
Must you be rude?
@@MelissasKitchenTable Can't YOU read?
@@kevinmacnally5096 if acting like this makes you feel better about yourself then good for you.
@@MelissasKitchenTable Read YOUR instruction booklet! Mine says to keep it away from the wall because the air comes in from the back and it says NOT to have it against the wall! Your viewers should know this! STOP being such a stupid bitch!
@@kevinmacnally5096 gotta love a troll with no life.
That's not "good quality" meat-there's NO marbling. I'd be willing to bet it's Choice grade from Wally World. YUUUUUUM!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
Its grassfed from a local farm. I clearly stated that. It is the highest quality meat you can get.
@@MelissasKitchenTable kudos for supporting local farmers
They look greyish and not nice and seared on the outside. 👎
Thanks for your opinion. I dont agree.
Budder eh? Does anyone on here do recipes in English
thats not cooked
Cheap cut of meat. No marbling.
Incorrect, it's 100% grass fed and grass finished.
That may be, but it has zero marbling. And the amount of marbling a steak has determines its grade, ie lots of marbling = prime. @@MelissasKitchenTable
@@jaubrey7257 ok if you think so.
You handled the meat and then put your unwashed hands straight into the salt 😐
No i didn't it was two different hands.
You contaminated your salt by touching your meat and sticking your fingers in the salt. 😞
They are different hands. Honestly I dont understand people. If your going to make a rude comment please pay attention. I touch the steaks with my left hand and season with the right hand 🙄
Too bad had to add a political advertisement. Now lost me
I dont pick the ads. I never post anything political.
You made a lot of really terrible mistakes for steaks. First, you NEVER salt a steak early. It pulls moisture out of the meat. And you NEVER EVER wrap steaks in papertowels. Also, you mentioned cutting off the fat... NEVER!!! When will people learn that fat is NOT bad for you!!!!???? CARBS are bad for you. Fats are essential to good health.
Not animal fats. Unless you buy grass fed organic, meat in the grocery stores is full of chemicals and hormones. Yes fat is essential to good health, but you want something like avocados, ev olive oil in a salad, eggs...
