I bought their dual fuel unit as I wanted a generator that would run strictly on propane. The unit was difficult to start and once achieving that would cut out after 10 or so minutes of running. I'm familiar with using and breaking in gasoline powered equipment as I own a snowblower and recently sold a large and heavy gasoline generator. In trying to figure out the problem. I tried a second full propane tank and even called the Westhouse customer support number. The technician told me that adding the full bottle of oil supplied with the unit might be too much and that the oil sensor monitor is very sensitive. He suggested adding less oil. Upon draining the oil that was included and adding new oil but less didn't solve the problem. I didn't think that it would as the amount they included with the unit filled it to the level of where it was supposed to be at. I returned the unit to Walmart. I'm now leary on purchasing another dual fuel unit or stick strictly with a gas unit. I'm definitely not purchasing another Westinghouse unit.

@joejohnson - I think returning the unit is the right call. I don't blame you a bit for skipping over Westinghouse in your search. These should work out of the box. I've not used any dual fuel generators so I don't have any advice other than to choose one that has 4.5 or more stars with more than a 1000 reviews -and of course meets your other requirements. Thanks for watching!

@@LivingCommonSense I'm a bit suspect of that 4.5 rating and I'll tell you why. My unit came with an advertisement to get a free bonus cover from Westinghouse for a review. They directed you to a site to file that review through them or on Amazon. My review was 3 stars based on their customer service and the fact that I never tested the unit on gasoline. It might have performed fine using gasoline. I did apply and receive that cover despite bringing the unit back to Walmart for a refund. That offer of a free cover for a review could slant those on giving this generator a more favorable one. I had 30 days to return the unit to Walmart for a refund as the nearest service center is 33 miles from me. I had previously owned a very heavy, more powerful Champion gas generator which I sold. I just needed a smaller unit to power the fridge which was no problem for the Westinghouse unit to handle. BTW. Had I used gas in this unit, and it had a problem, Walmart wouldn't have taken it back because they had to FedEx back to the vendor, Westinghouse. This experience has got me to rethink even buying a unit that uses propane. I did experience, as others have using propane, the harder starting issues. The propane takes more time to travel through the hose to the unit. Westinghouse however puts a bleeder valve on the hose regulator to assist with that. Another reason for my thinking of using propane is the ethanol that's put in the gas. With my snowblower. I let the unit sputter and run out after every use leaving no gas in the carburetor. I also have to renew the gas stored for that snowblower every 30 days. Using propane in the generator would have solved both those issues.

@joejohnson - I get it and agree in your case someone wants to skew the reviews higher and that is why I suggested one with at least a 1000 reviews. I'd prefer 4k-5k reviews. On average, people are more likely to put up a review if the product they bought was defective or inferior in some way. It would take a lot to offset the negative reviews.
I considered propane initially -stores forever, sealed container and no vapors...etc. With storage it is expensive by volume compared to gasoline (thinking 20-30lb tanks).
This is only my own observation but I think people make too big a deal out of storing gasoline long term. I don't worry about the ethanol infected gas. I buy it and store it. I use in generators and lawnmowers and run the carbs dry when I'm done with them for a while. Once the gas gets a year old, I pour into my trucks and refill the cans. That same gas will stay in a car for years and still work if its fuel injected. This view is probably not popular and it is not advice; just my own experience.
BTW, the generator in this video needs a shot of starting fluid a couple of weeks ago to get going during a 20F cold start.

How often have you had to change the spark plugs.

@JEEPIMPACT - I've never changed the spark plug. It's probably got 80-100 hours on it by now.

My igen2200 overloads at 1700 watts. I can’t run my side by side fridge and a 5000 btu window air conditioner at the same time.. No way does it peak at 2200 watts. When both are running it’s like 800 watts tops.

@toni - Without going into too many technical details, both the window A/C and fridge are considered “inductive” loads. The generator is rated at 1800w continuous / 2200 peak and that is going to be on a “resistive” load like a space heater where the voltage and current waves crest at the same time. In circuits with inductive loads, current lags the voltage and the waves do not crest at the same time and you will notice lower continuous/peak power values. It is frustrating but it’s a limit that comes with power inverters. This generator will not power my keurig coffee maker even when it’s the only the plugged in. I was disappointed to say the least. Hope that made sense.
