Honestly, that's fair. The Longshot probably gets a pass because it comes just after the coolest mini-boss in the middle of the most infamous dungeon in LoZ history.

@@schnek8927 Yeah, the Dominion Rod becomes literally useless outside of it's dungeon (and maybe like 1 use in cave of ordeals). I feel like they should have just said "fk it" if they couldn't implement more stuff for the rod, and just let you possess lesser enemies to aid you in combat against other enemies.... or something. Or let you possess (or, charm rather) robotic enemies, like armos and beamos.
Nah, bro was not cooking with the Twilight Princess choice. The double clawshot is an amazing item that's so fun to use whenever it pops up. City in the Sky uses it in so many fun puzzles, and the Argorak fight is one of my favorites. Who doesn't want to grapple around everywhere like that?
I would've chosen the Dominion Rod for Twilight Princess, due to the fact that you can only use it on statues with holes in their chests, and it requires you to recharge the damn thing manually because Ooccoo doesn't remember the ritual to just recharge right then and there. So, you go across all of Hyrule to find necessary letters for the book you are given by the archeologist and that can take a good half hour to full hour to do.
Oh and while it's not necessarily related to the item in question, but it's hard to ignore the giant cannon in the room: that being there's a chance for a game-breaking bug to occur where you can't progress the game because the dude won't leave the room to allow you to warp the cannon out of it. So after ALL that screwing off to the four corners of the world just to find missing letters of a forgotten alphabet, there's a slim chance it'll amount to NOTHING and having to start the whole game over. Wow...fun... >.>
What about the beyblad-er i mean the spinner? I would argue it's more useless than the rod as you use it about twice maybe 3 or 4 times for 100% as you could just double clawshot instead of using it for the final bit of Zelda's castle
At least the Dominion Rod is a really cool idea, and the Temple of Time boss was a cool use of it. I was expecting the Bomblings, there's no situation where they're more useful than Bomb Arrows, and you can't use Water Bombs if you have them
7:08 Wait... YOU CAN USE BOMBCHUS LIKE THAT?! All these years, I've been doing that puzzle the hard way, using the Magic Boomerang to navigate it through the narrow block maze just to hit the switch...
I’m surprised the ice arrows weren’t the worst item in ocarina of time. You had to do a big side quest for them and they aren’t used for anything. At least bombchus can break walls, plus I always liked using them to kill the big moblin in the hallway leading to the forest temple. (Also the blast mask is pretty good, you get it before bombs and if you use your shield while exploding you don’t take any damage.)
Honestly, even the fire arrows aren't very useful in OoT. I think there's one total puzzle that can be done marginally faster if you had them, but it's a puzzle that can be done with normal arrows anyway. I definitely think Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild have the best iterations of the elemental arrows
i ONCE decided i wanted to see what would happen if i shot Ice arrows at that Dragon boss, Volvagia. this was harder than i thought, you NEED the upgraded Hookshot from the Water dungeon to get them, so i had to do the Water dungeon BEFORE the Volcano dungeon! BUT, nothing special happened! what a waste.
@@schwarzerritter5724 Good point; some players may forget to cut down the Termina Field grass. However, this would also leave the player with a lack of arrows, so in practice, the player will probably head back to violate vegetation for ammunition before encountering a scenario that demands explosives.
I will still say in the original version of Majora’s Mask, the Circus Leader’s Mask is the most useless item. Aside from fodder to get the Fierce Diety’s mask, its only use is to stop the Gorman brothers from attacking you when you’re escorting the milk from Romani’s Ranch to Clock Town… but to even get the mask you need to have done that already. Meaning it’s one use is to make something you’ve done already slightly easier. At least in 3D they add an extra side quest for another bottle. So just falls into the “one and done” pile with many of the other masks.
To be fair, MOST of the masks in Majora's Mask only really have one use for one specific item (usually a Heart Piece), but yeah, hard to ignore just how thoroughly useless & redundant the Circus Leader's Mask is. :/
@ as I said, it is better in 3D cause of the extra bottle.. in a game with the most bottles already but it is a thing you can get with it. Thoroughly the worst mask bar none regardless.
@@TehLucario I suppose, yeah. Though, hot take, the Couple's Mask is worse; look I love the Kafei/Anju sidequest to death, it's tragic, it's wholesome, it's...completely pointless. The Couple's Mask does nothing...literally nothing afaik...aside from give you a Piece of Heart. I get more mileage out of more Bottles, but to only get a Piece of Heart and the mask has literally no functional use aside...? Yeah...kinda dumb, imo... :/
@@TehLucario I suppose, yeah. Between it and the Circus Leader's Mask, though, the Circus Leader's Mask has an actual functional use, even if said use is redundant. A lot of the masks felt too situational to be of any use, but the fact the Couple's Mask has NO situational use aside from earning a Heart Piece is just...I dunno... A little disappointing after everything you had to go through just to obtain it, ya know? :/
Wait Jared, you could’ve counted Hestu’s gift as the worst BOTW item! It does actually do something in game, but its effect is so difficult to see that a lot of people don’t realize it’s a thing. When you have Hestu’s gift, it makes the weakest enemy types (the red ones, except Lynels obviously because they’re bosses technically) run away from you because you smell bad. The only problem? YOU’RE AT THE END OF THE GAME WHEN YOU GET IT! It is so difficult to find red enemies at the later stages of the game it’s entirely likely that you’d never even see this effect happen unless you literally search for an illusive red enemy
The sand rod is pretty cool in the dungeon you need for it, but other than that it’s quite literally useless. Every other item in the game can be used for at least SOMETHING even if only fighting enemies, but the sand rod can’t do that. It’s no wonder that Sage got captured by Yuga in the eastern palace, he couldn’t even use the damn thing
I saw a fan theory that Ravio deliberately rented him the sand rod over any of the other items precisely because its utility was so narrow. Would explain why Ravio was willing to rent it to him at all given his plan.
The Magic Cape is how you got that Piece of Heart?! I remember trying to clip through that bumper as a kid and never could figure out how to get past it!
While this is only possible through randomizers or glitching the game, the Cape also lets you walk through the barrier to Agahnim you'd normally need the Master Sword to destroy.
OK, but hear me out. The bombchu bowling alley girl... I would conquer Hyrule for her. I don't care that bombchus are dumb. I don't care that bombchu bowling is annoying. She knows it's dumb. She's bored as hell. She's just working an entry level job to make ends meet. We could make it work.
The Dominion Rod from Twilight Princess, which uses up all its cool features in the dungeon it's found in. After that, it's just owl statues with no attacks. As for a more traditional item for Echoes of Wisdom, the bombs. This is due to their questionnable placement, as they're found after a required bombfish echo that works underwater *and* on land. They can also be upgraded to become bombchus, which are easily overshadowed by the other two weapons' upgrades.
I probably would have listed the Master Sword as TOTK’s worst item, mostly for how much its mechanics contradict with the lore. It’s stated to get stronger if exposed to sacred light, but despite 10k + years of draconified sacred light, it still breaks, it doesn’t restore its full durability for fusing, and it’s somehow weaker than it was in the previous game.
Speaking of items that are worse in TotK, why doesn't the Champion's Tunic show enemy hit points anymore? That was its best feature, why remove that?! It makes me so mad.
For BOTW, I thought Cryosis was pretty dumb. You can create a block of ice on water. Cool, I guess, but I feel like there was SO much potential that was lost making it restricted to water. Imagine being able to make instant cover anywhere, or an extra platform for tough climbs. Considering that you only get like four permanent items for the whole damn game, it sucks that one of them is so limited.
Not gonna lie, was waiting on the bait & switch for Twilight Princess. Thought your description was leading up to the rebranding of bombchus to bomblings.
I will not accept the slander against the second clawshot. It's fun to use and opens up a lot of interesting movement the single clawshot can't achieve. More to the point though, the Dominion Rod and the Bug Bombs are right there - obviously worse items. If we're counting armors, then the Magic Armor trumps them all
Tbh, I kinda agree with Jared on this one; I feel like it'd have been cooler if it unlocked more combat & mobility options, but as it stands, it's just a clawshot you can use whilst clinging to another surface; if that's all it did, then why was that not a default functionality of the Clawshot to begin with? It's the same problem I have with the Longshot being an upgrade to the Hookshot in OoT...as in...why? Yeah the Dominion Rod's not particularly useful, though the Bug Bombs are...kinda useful; and the Magic Armor...I'm convinced is only really useful for when you need to get rid of some Rupees lining your pockets just to get that one Treasure Chest you missed in a dungeon because this was the only Zelda game where it wouldn't let you take the treasure if you had just too many Rupees (seriously, Red Rupee in a chest, but I have just 19 shy of a full wallet, so I can't take it...why? That's so pointless and stupid!), other than that, though...eh...I could take it or leave it, but it's the side-quest just to get it that makes it so obnoxious. Farming for Rupees...just to get an armor...that uses your hard-earned Rupees...as a shield... K... :/
Honestly, I disagree with your last pick. Because at least it's useful for half a heart. What's worse are the extra pot echoes you learn that are the exact same as the first pot. You learn them just so they can clutter up your Echo log. They're not just worthless, they're less than worthless.
if i remember, there's just one place in Ocarina of Time where you really need Bombchus. it's in the Light temple, you need to blow a hole in the Ceiling to let light in, so you can use the Mirror shield. or was that in Majora's Mask? i heard that in Breath of the WIld, you can aquire a "fire rod" and an "ice rod". IF you keep your distance, use their magical abilities, and don't literally SMACK enemies with them, then they won't ever break, unlike Bows!
In Ganon's tower, one of the six paths to break the barrier has a room where it gives you Bombchu's, and you have to use them to hit a switch in the back of the room behind iron bars through a gap at the top of the bars.
No no no, Jared. No way!... you re-evaluate. The Double Clawshot might be the coolest item in the whole series (at least one of my ultimate favorites) Being some iron hands, clanking-sound Spiderman is so awesome. It also didn't bother me that I couldn't use it for combat... that was the Magic Armor, that was the coolest looking outfit in maybe the whole series but you can't turn the stupid rupee drain off! I just want to look awesome, dammit. What I think you mean to say for TP is that the SINGLE clawshot is the absolute worst, especially any playthrough after 1st playthrough. Not only do you have to wait a long time in the game to get the double, but it's just agonizing to get that single clawshot slapped in your face and you just hang around all... 1 clawed. (And thanks for the fun video, as always!)
I'm so glad someone else had called out the weapon system of Breath of the Wild. Seriously, I'd rather have the giant's knife (as in, it doesn't get removed from your inventory, just turns into a rather pathetic weapon) over any weapon in that game.
Everyone telling Projared that you can block with the bomb mask, but he does say that. People couldn't help but to comment it without watching 5 more seconds into the video.
I beat Minish Cap multiple times and didn't even know there WAS a mirror shield until Jared mentioned it in the video. I suppose because after I beat the game I would walk away from it for a while before coming back to start up a NEW file is why.
I'm amazed people don't like the Bomb Mask. For me it's up there with the Bunny Hood and the Stone Mask as a fundamental utility mask. You never have to worry about having bombs for something because you can just whip out your shied and blow stuff up without taking damage. Aside from the few cases where you actually need to throw a bomb across a pit it's perfect.
I love the bomb mask, also handy for spontaneously combusting near multiple weak enemies. It reminds me of a Cyclops bit from X-Men. "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?" (Explosive lasers erupt from hitting the guy with sunglasses)
While the telescope is technically kind of useless, I used it A LOT when I first played it as a kid imagining myself as an adventurer on the high seas. It allowed that sense of getting into character and immersion that was what I loved about Wind Waker.
Wind Waker HD: Tingle Bottle. Miiverse poster that replaced the pretty cool tingle tuner rather than utilizing the gamepad in a way to make an even better tingle tuner.
fishing rod in twilight princess. cuz thats all it does the fish dont do anything for you outside of maybe a heart piece, it distracts ganondorf but that fight isnt particularly hard anyway.
@@SchwubbySwabby The only reason the top wasn't cool is because outside of specific areas, it goes pathetically slow and only lasts a few seconds. If it just cruised all the time, I would actually love to be able to skate/surf while traveling long distances.
In Twilight Princess the horse call/Ilia’s charm is far worse. The 2nd claw shot is functionally useful and fun to use. By the time you get the horse call/Ilia’s charm, you have unlocked almost all the teleport locations anyway. And there is plenty of horse grass to call Epona if you do need her.
The worst items in a Link between Worlds would absolutely be either the super lamp or super net. These are upgrades to the normal lamp and net obtained by clearing the hardest version of the game’s combat gauntlet, the Treacherous Tower, twice in the case of the net. They have eight times the power of the normal version, which from my own testing seems identical to the golden Master Sword. I don’t know which of the two i’d call worse since the net at least has a small spin attack that could technically make it usefull (though it’s to slow for me to see any scenario where this would come into play) and can deflect Yuganon’s magic, but it’s the one obtained through the second run of advanced Treacherous Tower which makes it harder to get than the lamp.
100% agree with Breath of the Wild's pick. Every weapon, bow, and shield. Such an annoying and pointless addition to the game, it's the reason I haven't finished it. I hate it. And I hate BotW and TotK because of it.
I feel like the item durability feature wouldn’t have been so bad if most of the items weren’t that great at damage wise and the general idea was you had access to those items until a later stage when you got more powerful permeanent items, or if every item broke and there was no permanent items that most of the gear was just generic and didn’t have that “oh wow this sword or bow had this cool feature” The big problem with BOTW durability imo is that it just makes collecting items tedious because collecting sword # 36 or bow #47 even if they have different functions annoying and irritating because I would rather have one decent reliable weapon. Like the only series were durability works is Fire emblem because the main point is inventory management because you control an entire army. It doesn’t work in Zelda because I don’t want to have to constantly manage links inventory that much. Like just give me a good list of reliable weapons and I’m happy.
It would have been more interesting if they made weapon durability work differently. Like only fragile weapons can completely break, like anything made out of wood for example, or anything that's rusted. As for most other weapons, they would just become dull, and do less damage the more "dull" they are. You could bring stuff to a blacksmith to repair them for a fee (and required materials if it's a rare/legendary weapon), and restore weapons to their full damage value. Perhaps dullness wouldn't affect blunt weapons. Maybe you could also modify weapon properties at a blacksmith, like say a random steel shortsword. You could lower the max damage, but in exchange, make it unbreakable/undullable, and it's damage always stays the same. Well, for BotW at least, because Tears' whole weapon schtick is "everything has been corrupted and corroded to shit lol just glue random parts to weapons with Zonai coom"
I feel like the durability system wouldn't be so bad if so many of them didn't permanently break, if there were some system where you could repair at least the powerful weapons. As it is, I gotta agree, the durability system is my least favorite aspect of BotW.
This video is a vintage format, it feels like this has been sitting on the hard drive for 14 years and just now finally uploaded. No complaints from me, it's nice, it's familiar
The Bomb Mask damage can be negated by holding the Shield up. In all honesty, the Bomb Mask kinda makes normal Bombs redundant due to the fact you have an Instant Explosion in your pocket. I don't recount many situations where I needed to use the normal Bombs. Every time I needed to explode something, Bomb Mask. Also, the Oracle duology's Bombchus have an upgraded feature: They Home in on enemies, actually. Place them down, and they beeline for an enemy. So they're useful than in the 3D games. They kinda suffer in that by the time you get them, you probably have only one or two dungeons left, or are already on the Linked Gannon Fight. I'd argue the Biggoron Sword is more useless, as the damage is equal to the Master Sword, but takes up both A/B buttons. You get a wide swing, sure, but I'm already dealing a lot more damage with quicker Master Sword swings anyways, and have the other Button open for items.
BROTHER you forgot about the bug bombs from Twilight Princess! They're just Bombchus but bug! You're telling me that the double clawshot is worse than an item you never use in any game and is so often forgotten that you yourself didnt mention it?
Hold up: The Zonai Hydrant has limited uses, but I've used it a surprising amount... can *anyone* tell me what use the Zonai Mirror has to merit its inclusion as a dispenser item?!
I liked the second Clawshot in Twilight Princess. From a purely mechanical standpoint, it isn't that interesting, but it does give the game just that little extra bit of spectacle.
I agree with breath of the wild. I've never liked the every weapon and item can be broken BS and we're still waiting on final fantasy 13 you got to do it at some point. Jared
It is absolutely not a cop-out to say that every weapon, shield, and bow in BotW/TotK is worthless, because they are. I love those games, but goddamn. Weapon durability is a bad mechanic in every game it exists in.
Pro-tip: When using the Blast Mask in Majora's Mask, shield while exploding. You take no damage, and you basically get a free bomb every fifteen seconds without having to wait for a fuse to count down. until it explodes
I'm glad to hear you also liked the boss fight with the Spinner. Sure, it's such a weird item, but that boss fight is super fun and still my favorite boss fight of all Zelda games.
we've been spoiled today bois! good freaking projared videos doing good freaking projared stuff! honestly i missed this kind of projared vid, as much as I like his playthroughs and how funny it is, this scripted review/analysis/retrospective will always be comedy gold, the only missing part is the good bye summer hello winter intro by fantomenk. Great video by the way!
The Bomb Mask in MM is actually great! It's always a life saver when you just reverted time, immediately teleported to where you wanted to go, only to forget there was a boulder in the way but you just lost all your bombs from reverting time. I know you ended up saying the worst things are the Bombchus again, but I just could sit back and watch you hate on the Bomb Mask =D.
The Telescope is definitely the least useful item in Wind Waker, but it does have one use: it can make it slightly easier to find where seagulls are swarming around, which indicates a Big Octo.
Another annoying thing about Bombchu in OOT is that they're in ostensibly limited supply in OOT. They are the only Ammunition Item that can't be dropped by enemies (for some reason) And the Market Bombchu Shop has limited stock. If that shop sells out, the only place left to restock Bombchu is the Flying Carpet Salesman in the Haunted Wasteland who sells them at (I think) 20 Bombchu for 200 Rupees. (Or by playing Bombchu Bowling, but god no) The only saving grace in this regard is that any puzzle that requires bombchu to solve, conveniently has a treasure chest in that same room containing 10 or so bombchu (They knew how bad this item was), but if you ever run out, the only way to restock is to completely leave the dungeon. Blue Fire is another contender for worst item in OOT.
I'm not sure why so many people had issues with the Skyward Sword controls. I feel like it might be that the Wii Motion Plus™ attachment is pretty shoddy compared to the golden Wiimote that has the function built in, which is what I used and had zero issues with. I even jammed on the harp for fun and did some sick solos in that performance minigame.
Though I am in agreement with your accessed value of the "Unfortunate Smoothie", that stuff did save my life a couple of times. Along with the Half of Heart, it also refills a little of the Energy Gauge. The Swordfighter Mode is a life saver at times in Echoes of Wisdom.
The fire hydrant can be used to move around places that are to hot to be in without fire resistant clothes or a Potion. I completely ignored the armour set and collecting the lizards and solely beat the goron quest with a fire hydrant. It was my best friend.
How's the dominion rod gonna not be called out? At least the second clawshot was kinda fun to use, same with the spinner. There's a point where the dominion rod becomes a glorified yo-yo and that's it. No fun skateboard time, no Voldo cosplaying, just a magic tennis ball on a stick that fetches itself. Pour one out for the underrated homies, bombchus too. You use those things right and you can fly with them, what's not to love about that?
Played through OoT many times but I don't think I've ever used Farore's Wind. I still make sure to collect it though. I'm not going to have an empty slot on my item menu.
have you ever fallen in the fire temple? did you know that it sends you to the last door you passed through? it's a free ticket back up if you fall a long way in any of the dungeons.
The Blast Mask is very useful for when you turn back time and lose all of your bombs. If you want to run somewhere quickly and blow something up without taking the time to collect bombs, it's pretty convenient. You also avoid taking damage by just blocking while using it.
Is surprising Jared put the double clawshots as the worst! I say it's the fishing rod only needed for two moments, but to actually collect fish as you have a log to jog info of them is pointless. Can't even log the skull fish as they're illegal to fish.
11:30 I thought the flute was a really cool novelty as a kid. However that all changed entirely when my DS microphone broke and would blow the flute all the time when I activated it, essentially soft locking me out of the main story because my mic was busted. After that it wasnt very cool…

I was expecting the Bomblings, there's no situation where they're more useful than Bomb Arrows, and you can't use Water Bombs if you have them
@@averysmalman8191 I forgot bomblings existed honestly
Thanks for the video ProJared. I'm glad you are still around :)
Yeah. The Ice Arrow in OoT is useless. Thank goodness Majora's Mask made it so much better
@conorb.1901 Well the Fire Arrow can light up other torches for more goodies & such and they do more damage than your normal arrow.
That's a great point. Never got the Ice Arrows before, and I don't think I will anytime soon
I hate mazes
15:22 *hearty chuckle*
To be fair, the Bomb Mask could be useful if you run out of bombs. Then again, during my recent Majora's Mask playthrough, I *never* ran out of bombs.
Exactly this. Thanks to blast mask I had plenty of bombs handy in moments where I needed several (which was very rare).
You are only happy about the blast mask if you play a Majoras Mask randomizer and have no bombs. And people who do Speedruns love the Bombchus.
You lose all bombs every time you turn back time.
@@bluestreaker9242oh I can’t argue that. But still gives you the heart piece in both versions so that’s still better than nothing.
"Blast Mask and Bombchus are worthless"
*Angry Speedrunner Noises*
Wait... Hestu's Gift actually does something!? I thought it was just a useless lump of shit! (It is for the most part, but you know...)
I wish more games would give you the option to turn level scaling OFF.
I didn't know Hestu's Gift was a thing before watching this video, because collecting every single Korok Seed was never on my agenda.
I like the little cards at the bottom of the screen that have the Item's name when you mention it, very screw-attack esque.
Jared _did_ have a show on Screw Attack back in the day after all.
For the MM entry, I'd argue the Couple's Mask is worse. All that work, meticulous timing, and for what? A single piece of heart
Always nice to see a new Jerd video. Although now I miss Dylan. Still, always nice to see a new video from you.
You had me there for a moment with dissing the bomb mask while actively misusing it, only to bait and switch with bombchus again.
Since you're asking: I had fun playing the bombchu bombing alley minigame.
Not gonna lie, was waiting on the bait & switch for Twilight Princess. Thought your description was leading up to the rebranding of bombchus to bomblings.
He probably forgot bomblings exist lol
0:37 so THAT’s where that mechanic from BotW came from.
Eh, I used the Telescope to have an easier time spotting those flock of seagulls. lol
I'm pretty sure that is only in master quest light temple.
In Ganon's tower, one of the six paths to break the barrier has a room where it gives you Bombchu's, and you have to use them to hit a switch in the back of the room behind iron bars through a gap at the top of the bars.
I think you mean the Spirit Temple, not the light temple.
@Role-Playing_Girl oops, i think you're right.
No no no, Jared. No way!... you re-evaluate.
The Double Clawshot might be the coolest item in the whole series (at least one of my ultimate favorites)
Being some iron hands, clanking-sound Spiderman is so awesome.
Am I the only person who loved the Spirit Flute? I thought it really worked work.
I couldn't finish spirit tracks because my microphone stopped working halfway through and it thought that I was constantly trying to play it.
I feel like the bombchu segments were just Jared venting after being stuck using them for so long in the OoT Randomizer…
i love these types of videos :D they are very nostalgic for me because of you and pbg
Great video as always. But remember.
You can't run away from Final Fantasy 13 forever Jared.
I'm absolutely here for the TP Spinner.
I beat Minish Cap multiple times and didn't even know there WAS a mirror shield until Jared mentioned it in the video. I suppose because after I beat the game I would walk away from it for a while before coming back to start up a NEW file is why.
You’re going to get so much hate for the Double Claw Shot 😂
I'm amazed people don't like the Bomb Mask. For me it's up there with the Bunny Hood and the Stone Mask as a fundamental utility mask. You never have to worry about having bombs for something because you can just whip out your shied and blow stuff up without taking damage. Aside from the few cases where you actually need to throw a bomb across a pit it's perfect.
I love the bomb mask, also handy for spontaneously combusting near multiple weak enemies. It reminds me of a Cyclops bit from X-Men.
"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?"
(Explosive lasers erupt from hitting the guy with sunglasses)
I remember when MatPat and Peebs made a video like this like a decade back
While the telescope is technically kind of useless, I used it A LOT when I first played it as a kid imagining myself as an adventurer on the high seas. It allowed that sense of getting into character and immersion that was what I loved about Wind Waker.
Wind Waker HD: Tingle Bottle. Miiverse poster that replaced the pretty cool tingle tuner rather than utilizing the gamepad in a way to make an even better tingle tuner.
Feels like an upload from 2014. Love it. Hope all is well.
Actually, the Minish Mirror Shield can only be acquired after beating the final boss TWICE.
Na the Blast Mask makes regular bombs obsolete, if you block while wearing it you don't take damage
fishing rod in twilight princess. cuz thats all it does the fish dont do anything for you outside of maybe a heart piece, it distracts ganondorf but that fight isnt particularly hard anyway.
Don’t you get 2 empty jars from fishing? I know you at least get 1, that alone makes it better than the top or like, the hawk mask.
@@SchwubbySwabby The only reason the top wasn't cool is because outside of specific areas, it goes pathetically slow and only lasts a few seconds. If it just cruised all the time, I would actually love to be able to skate/surf while traveling long distances.

I think Jared missed the OG Four Swords. Curious what he thinks the worst item is in that game.
c. ?

I've beaten the original Zelda a few times and I completely forgot the bait existed and also never knew what it was used for lol
100% agree with Breath of the Wild's pick. Every weapon, bow, and shield. Such an annoying and pointless addition to the game, it's the reason I haven't finished it. I hate it. And I hate BotW and TotK because of it.
FINALLY! A KINDRED SPIRIT! Agreed entirely.
I feel like the item durability feature wouldn’t have been so bad if most of the items weren’t that great at damage wise and the general idea was you had access to those items until a later stage when you got more powerful permeanent items, or if every item broke and there was no permanent items that most of the gear was just generic and didn’t have that “oh wow this sword or bow had this cool feature”
The big problem with BOTW durability imo is that it just makes collecting items tedious because collecting sword # 36 or bow #47 even if they have different functions annoying and irritating because I would rather have one decent reliable weapon.
The Double Clawshot plays a vital role in perhaps my favorite Zelda boss fight ever, so it's fine in my book. Seriously, Argorok is amazing.
The Camera was the best item when the Miiverse was up. Such a dumb social media, but still really fun.
I hate it when Bombchus Again again!
At least the fire hydrant has it uses. I've never use Zonai Homing Cart or Construct Head.
seems like editor dylan still has food
2:53 you're welcome
wow rude. this is his livelyhood you know.
Hold up: The Zonai Hydrant has limited uses, but I've used it a surprising amount... can *anyone* tell me what use the Zonai Mirror has to merit its inclusion as a dispenser item?!
I don't know what Jared's talking about, the hydrant is endlessly useful to me, especially for getting across lava.
I liked the second Clawshot in Twilight Princess. From a purely mechanical standpoint, it isn't that interesting, but it does give the game just that little extra bit of spectacle.
Personally, I don't think I've ever used deku nuts. So, worst item of Oot.
If you never used Deku Nuts, you are playing the game wrong. They are the most OP item in OoT & MM. They AoE stun almost everything.
@@Crazy_Gamer_OG you never need to AoE stun anything in OoT, because of the Z-targeting mechanics, enemies always attack you one at a time.
Try using them on Stalfos. You’ll never fight them without Deku Nuts again.
You forgot to mention the Golden Armor in Twilight Princess that requires rupees to protect you.
That combined with the not very large wallet capacity, which was only increased in the Wii U version.
*Magic not magic armor*
MatPat and PBG ranked it as the worst Zelda item of all time, and I can't say I disagree.
I agree with breath of the wild. I've never liked the every weapon and item can be broken BS and we're still waiting on final fantasy 13 you got to do it at some point. Jared
Jared's taking us back to 2010-era UA-cam and I'm LOVIN IT
It is absolutely not a cop-out to say that every weapon, shield, and bow in BotW/TotK is worthless, because they are.
Link's render in hyrule warriors is cute af
I disagree with the last one, the worst item in Echoes of Wisdom are the duplicate items you end up getting. The pots for example.
we've been spoiled today bois! good freaking projared videos doing good freaking projared stuff! honestly i missed this kind of projared vid, as much as I like his playthroughs and how funny it is, this scripted review/analysis/retrospective will always be comedy gold, the only missing part is the good bye summer hello winter intro by fantomenk. Great video by the way!
Weakest item in a Link between worlds, is easily the boomerang. You literally never have to touch it once.
This is AS close to a classic top 10 video as we'll probably get in a LONG time! Love to see it!
Next video, Worst items in Smash Bros. games:
Smash 64: Fan
Melee: Parasol
Brawl: Cracker Launcher
Smash 4 forward:... BOMBCHU!!!!!
(Or by playing Bombchu Bowling, but god no)
The only saving grace in this regard is that any puzzle that requires bombchu to solve, conveniently has a treasure chest in that same room containing 10 or so bombchu (They knew how bad this item was), but if you ever run out, the only way to restock is to completely leave the dungeon.
Always nice to see a new vid on the ProJared channel. 👍
The bombchu is the textbook example of "watchout who you call ugly in high school"
The Magic Armor in Twilight Princess.
An absurd amount of rupee grinding to get, and even more absurd rupee grind to use.
OoT has Farore's Wind, without doubt. There's no problem it helps with that can't also be solved by walking.
I used it in the Water Temple, I put the warp spot in front of the top water level raiser and it made things go a lot quicker
There's one use for the bait you didn't mention, which is that you can use it on the final boss which is really useful when he's invincible.
Waiting for the suffering of 13 series. Jared come out play ….. 13
11:30 I thought the flute was a really cool novelty as a kid. However that all changed entirely when my DS microphone broke and would blow the flute all the time when I activated it, essentially soft locking me out of the main story because my mic was busted. After that it wasnt very cool…
A nice, simple, relatively video about incredibly specific videogame-things. Classic for a reason.
Always a good time when a new Jared vid's up. And right when I'm in a Zelda mood too 👀
People who hate the spinning top in Twilight Princess didn't grow up with Beyblade and don't know how to let it rip.
