Hey Tim, thanks for this series, I am going to build one for my self. I wish I had kept the surface grinder I had, wish in one hand and poop in the other I guess. Anyway thanks I do enjoy and that comes from a machinist with over 50 years of doing it.
Purely from a carpenter's point of view , I must say , WOW ! My particle board and roller skate wheel approach seams lame . The Germans would LOVE you !
Brilliant video technique, many you-tubers could learn a lot from watching your presentations. No need to watch every repetitive action in real time, and the voice over is better than recording machine noise etc. 🇦🇺🛠🔭🎹🔬👍
some people say fake it till you make it, hard workers say can't get it you make it. I rebuilt transmissions for my dad for a few summers when I was a teen, made half my tools from remodeling other old or wore out one's. keep up the great work
TIM , please do not think your self as Amateur YOU are not, . More like myself . ARTISAN , just i work wood , Learning HEAPS ! From you , Mate great stuff again , Cheers from Aus..
Incredible design. Your doing a great job with the fabrication. Don't worry what others might do, it look to me like it was a successful method. Keep up the great work. R
Been watching your videos for months now and thought id give you another sub, im just a small home shop and did cover my eyes on the mill work. Im looking to get into casting,
I've worked in several cnc shops and might I suggest that you add a coolent tank and pump once the main build is completely done so that you don't ruin the temper of what ever your grinding
Hey Tim, love those linear carriages,, how will you be setting up the height adjust on the surface grinder??,, very interested to see this thing run and how flat it will grind,, will you be checking out the trueness with a dial indicator?? i dont mean to overwhelm you with questions but i am going to be building one myself this year and seeing as i am a subscriber and avid follower of your channel, any tidbit of technical info would be great,, so far so good.
Hey Tim! So I show my wife the leggings and she says absolutely not, no way no how. She seems to think that being white I would ruin them in the shop to quick and besides that, they would make my butt look big... Disappointing
Thank you for your time and sharing your build
I love that fact that although viewed as an authority in your craft, your very humble. Your awsome dude.

I’ve been thinking of using an old radial arm saw with grinding wheel to try and resurface a 225# fisher anvil.
That sounds like a great idea, let me know how it goes I would be interested to know how it goes.
Stop thinking - start doing! Have fun.

Hey Tim how does the magnetic base work is it electric magnet Battery power??? Oh by the way awesome video. Great fab work. Thx ....Paul
It's mechanical movement of magnets with a lever
Commonly used in mill work..
