    I love how you break your up stroke when you do you b's, and h's, k's etc. It makes it look so nice. None of my other lettering channels do that.

    Hey kelly. I have literally fallen in love with your small brushpens, and I am enjoing doing one of your learn to brush books. I also love the three pack with brushpens. I have found my brand to use and I have also ditched some old tombow pens cuz they were frizzly. Love how wel you teaches us how to do brushlettering. Im at peace and enjoying having my twenty minutes fun every day.

    Okay, got the concept, thanks for pointing this out. How does this apply to letters that are (really( bounced? All I know is that great artists manage to make it look picturesque, so their must be some rules about exit strategies for letters there, too? Many thanks. Another Canuck.

    This was a a video. I have THE HARDEST TIME with exit and entrance strokes. I want to buy your pens. I've tried so many small brush pens with very little success. The only ones I love are Pentel Touch. They're great. I'm going to your website to purchase some Kelly cares pens.

    I can't beleive how much you and Sara from Ensign insights, another lettering channel. You could be sisters! I'm sure you probably know eachother... you're both as beautiful as you are talented! Your penmanship is otherworldly!❤

    Excatly what’s I needed. I got small brush pens, and they just don’t seem to look good. This just might be it. MY STROKES ARE TOO SHORT.
    Glory to God tho.m, bc I prayed for him to help me, with my writing and I see this. :)

    Would establishing fixed letter spacing (and inter-letter spacing) be helpful in controlling the overall spacing on the line? Fer instance, you're focusing here on the "exit" stroke and using it as the control for inter-letter spacing. How about if you set defined spaces (character widths) and then draw the exit stroke WITHIN that defines space.... I know, from past typesetting experience, that each letter (character) can be assigned a given character width. I remember terms like "EM" and "EN" widths to account for different characters (e.g. "i" is always narrower than "m" or "w"). In other words, apply the same rules typesetters use when constructing a "written" (typed) line of text.

    • @kellycreates
      @kellycreates  5 років тому

      I have a very relaxed 'unmeasured' style and approach to calligraphy. But if this works for you, then that's wonderful!

    • @wishneusky
      @wishneusky 5 років тому

      @@kellycreates I suppose one could do the lettering first, and then cut the plaque to a length that's appropriate. But If I'm dealing with a fixed space and I have to "fit" the lettering within that space.....layout before printing becomes the rule.
