I'm starting to get a bit better at calligraphy! I can trace over practice sheets very well, I just need to build my own style and stop relying so much on practice sheets. These videos are incredibly helpful.
Kelly, I wish I could do calligraphy like you, I envy you, I took calligraphy class but the teacher quit so therefore I couldn’t continue with it. I will be ordering your exercise my calligraphy. Excellent work darling. Thank you for sharing.
Grrrrrrr😡! I'm so frustrated! I can do every letter EXCEPT letters with ovals and circles which basically means...I CAN'T DO HALF OF THE ALPHABET!! I've been practicing and practicing over and over and still my O's, A's, bs and so on... SUCK! Kelly you're so great at teaching. All your letters are so perfect. I know I know.. patience and practice. Here's the kicker. One day I just tried doing ovals and I just tried a clock wise oval, that goes the other way.. to the right. Ya know what?? IT WAS PERFECT! I made O's going to the right trying to see why it was so easy. It's because I'm right handed. Going to the left of anything is easier. Piano, my right hand is WAY BETTER than my left. But guitar uses my left and for chords.. and I nail it! WHYYYY IS THIS HAPPENING! My W's are so pretty. My H's and N's are perfect... EVERY LETTER IS PERFECT... except for those with circles or ovals. 😢
Yes the Making Connections workbooks will help you...there are sets for large brush pens and small brush pens too. Here is a link: www.kellycreatesstore.com/product-category/workbooks/
If you want wider ovals then move your brush tip across the top of the oval before going into the downstroke and then move across the bottom (baseline before coming upwards with the upstroke. Also you could draw wider ovals with a pencil first and then trace over them with your brush pen. But there's honestly nothing wrong with narrow ovals.
Thanks for sharing with us! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks for watching!

It can be scary leaving the tracing sheets behind but it's how we will learn.

My ovals are naturally narrower, which i thought i was doing wrong. I would prefer wider. Help?
