Janet some of my earlier 'beginner' videos show you all about holding the pen and the hand position and movement. My hand is resting on the table. I am moving my hand and fingers unless I am writing quite large and then I will use more whole arm movements.
Your drills are simplistic and give me the confidence to know, if I practice, My skills will improve quickly...thanks for these videos.

I watched a couple of your videos. As a beginner, though a lefty. Your videos are super super helpful. You explain it in so much detail with so simplicity that it is so easy to understand. Help. When I try to practice that wiggle up and down stroke me hand always want to move back towards like the center instead of keep the marker tilted and I think I might be hold it wrong or not tilting it right I also hold my pens different then most people do that makes it harder I think
The angle of the pen to paper is important. The pen should not be upright.

Did you say mechanical pencils aren't recommended or they are?
I slowed the video down & she says AREN’T really recommended.
I don't use mechanical pencils because the lead might break when you put pressure to practice downstrokes.
My upstrokes are ALWAYS SKINNY! I try so hard to make proper upstrokes! I've gotten (that word 'gotten'just sound wrong so I had to used my good buddy, Google and he told me it IS a real word so we're good to go!😂
