Nice video! I always put a layer of scotch tape, before I start removing the pieces of shattered glass, then I apply the heat gun. It reduces the amount of shards flying everywhere!
Omg I've always done that. Great to know Im not the only one. Also, dipping the preferred in alcohol helps A LOT! Even if you have to do that several times, totally worth it for those hard ones
You're awesome Zack, thanx for the tips!
nice to see my man Zack there :)

wellcome to my loborotory.
WAW, DID IOU SE TAT!!!
Lost Night Boom!
I was thinking the same lol
I might need to use this if I ever repair the glass on my 2 iPod 4 generation
hot plates left on for 5 minutes usually warms up the iPad enough for a isesamo tool to remove everything. my tooth is shaved down thinner then you can purchase. if that doesn't remove all the glass easy then I put it on the hot plate once removing the top digitizer for another minute or two and go to work on it again. Hot Plate at a hundred degrees Celsius is your best option it's only $88 for a professional use. heat gun is the best option with razor blade if you're trying to do this at home
Im going to try dry ice for digitizer only repair, will make a video too.
I'm surprised you guys didn't try attaching a stronger adhesive to the glass and peeling it off. I wonder if fabric tape & epoxy would work.
The scotch tape idea is clever. Good video! i liked the BG music : )
very chill music
Do you think you can do a tutorial on replacing the wifi module on an iPhone 6 because I messed with my iPhone and now the wifi is very weak. (Among the other problems I caused)
This razor blade is definitely the most handy tool to have around. It works way better than the isesamo imho ;) I personally use it for all my repairs.
i did a ipad mini and for some reason the digitizer did not work home button work any advice.
A 250 watt brooder heat lamp can help keep it warm while you work your way around... shine it on the area just ahead of where you are lifting and rotate the IPad to keep it that way as you go.
Food over a couple of square feet of aluminum foil a few times to make a radiant heat shield for the battery and other components you want to protect from heat.
iPads are such a pain in the rear to fix
may be if i used a clear tape to cover up the glass in the first place i wouldn't run in any difficulties specially on a large screen like an iPad :)
Jerry passt einfach gut zu ifixit :D gefällt mir sehr
I don't have an iPad but still watched the video lol
Just add a bit tape in the cracked glass surface so you can safely remove it avoiding glass defragmentation
who needs the iopener? just wrap your LG G3 in a towel and run geekbench!
***** yes basically any phone with thermal issues. I wonder if the iopener can be used as a phone heatsink since it can absorb so much heat ;)
Is this guy rendered?
Try removing your finger in front of the scraper, first rules of safety
Have someone hold the heat gun while you remove the glass - messy work regardless..
I can imagine a foot-pedal operated heat gun on a stand would be super handy in this scenario.
@@NicholasLeader0 very true
You put links to all the crap in the video....... except the exact 2 fucking things that worked! What's the link for the "thin metal razor"? That's what i need
metal splugger and alcohol works better than this methods
I'll just take it to Apple
