I've just purchased a heat pad, & I know by this video, you are good & patient at what you do😊 I have several apple products in various bad condition, all dead but, I didn't pay anything for them so if I screw up with repairs, it doesn't matter.
Thanks for the helpful guide! I will be attempting this in future on a iPad 6th gen 2018 model as I intend to reflow the NAND due to error 4013, I will of course be trail and error before a hot air station touches the iPad but if the simple fixes do not work with disconnecting components then it's going to the gun, I also know the CPU can cause this and pretty much anything can though I have a fairly good idea the NAND is to blame. Thanks!
I kept thinking the alcohol would make it's way to the LCD. I've seen that happen to a guy that used to use a playing card and generous amounts of isopropyl alcohol.... ruined the LCD. Good job Jesse. Very smooth.
One question: so you have turn on the warming mat during the entire process until you disconnect the board from the battery? and second question: if the battery conector is so delicate, how do you change the old battery for a new one?
Dose the alcohol dissolve the adhesive? Would it be worth a try to flip the ipad over on the heat pad until it comes up to temperature? That way you don't have to sink all of that heat through the case. Or is that the idea?
do you have a video on removing digitizer from LCD of iPad 2 AIR ? where they are glued together ...... I have seen some people using a gold cutting wire ..... I would like to know your method.
Thanks Jesse, for the easy explanation and information provided. I have an iPad Pro A1673 that has a problem with the “Power” button not clicking, it is depressed in the iPad and seems loose. Could you recommend a seller that provides OEM parts? By the way, where did you purchased the “PCB Heating Matt”? Is this an easy fix, and what is your recommendation? Thanks for your help!
You would have to buy a parts device to get an OEM housing for iPad. I got the heating pad here: amzn.to/3yiDZUb "easy fix" would depend on your skill 😅
Jesse, thanks for your reply, but you never answer my initial question concerning the power button not working on iPad Pro 9.7 A1673. Do you know where can I buy it from? Yes, a heat gun works too. But a heat mat is more practical & effective as it provides constant heat & is hands free. Also less risk in overheating the LCD and damaging it
I would try to unplug the battery if I ever unplug parts because you can always accidentally cause a short circuit and then when you put everything together you can have an unrelated issue unless it's designed poorly where it is impossible to unplug the battery first but I ruined way too many things in my car or anything electrical leaving a battery plugged in.
@@VCCBoardRepairs Also I try to avoid metal pry tools if I absolutely can also. I try to use plastic pry tools since metal pry tools can scratch metal and also cause electrical issues too. Great video! Is it possible to put the ipad in a oven at 75ºC if we don't have heatpad?
I wouldn't do that lol
Why? When you use the heat pad you bring all the iPad to 75. The result should be the same heating with air instead I guess...
You are a ProFixerr with those skills

I dont think it dissolves it per se. But it does loosen it. It's facing up so you can work on it while it's staying at a hot temperature.
How do you refix the screen. What seal do you use & where can I get one?
You can just place the screen back down with the same adhesive. It'll be strong enough as is
