      @@everythingvideos24 they said that the program would come out early 2022. I am still waiting for it and there have been no updates. I kinda hate Samsungs repair program as it doesnt even have individual batteries, but at least I can swap my display without a $300 programmer and can get ahold of a genuine display

      @@everythingvideos24 the joke is on you because right to repair is already thing with Apple but they intentionally software lock components so diy repair still isn't a viable option forcing you to take it in to them regardless if you want all components to function as they should anyway that is.

    I wish batteries could be user replaceable again by just popping off the rear and inserting a new one.
    It's the only part of phones with a limited lifespan, it needs to be very easy to access and replace...

      No it does not, take a look at the Galaxy S5 for example. And with today's engineering-knowledge, even higher IP ratings with thin designs should be possible.

    Great thing about iPhones is how they included pull tabs for the battery. The down side, is the batteries are tied to the phone via software.

    Tip : before removing the display, attach a normal Ifixit suction cup onto the screen so that when you have to rest the phone, the suction cup lays against the table keeping the display at an angle

    I know it's really hard to do successfully, but if you get the old adhesive off the body off the phone it'll will make it so the display sits flush with the phone. Other than that great job iFixit!

    It doesn’t look hard
    Its just a-lot of work and making sure you have good memorization of taking out each part/screw and putting it back together
    Plus also being gentle with this stuff comes into a big play
    So I definitely see why ppl charge a good amount for doing this
    Its not the part its the labor work that takes time to doing this

    The battery replacement is the easiest part , but to retain battery health and not get the important battery message is the hard part. Next model will have the back glass paired to the motherboard .

    After replacing to a new battery (though Apple officially doesn’t sells its 13 series batteries separately) from exchanging from another 13 series model of BH 100.
    Will changing to new battery say “Battery Changed” with a warning of it being changed and Maximum Capacity will not show?

    After replacing battery does it affect how the phone looks? Like damage that couldn’t be undone due to opening it or whatever?

      It actually got easier as the battery adhesive is easier to be removed than it was before with a spuget. The only hard part is getting the glass off with the waterproofing adhesive making it tough.

    A phone that u can upgrade urself be a real game changer so u could upgrade camera hard drive battery etc if u follow of course manufacturers wouldn’t like it cos it helps eliminate repeat new phone custom plus it helps lower land fill too old parts could recyclable too so win win

    Looking at this since Apple announced they will jack up battery replacement prices starting March 2023. 🙄Very doable with patience. Little more complex than 6 Plus battery replacement which I did years ago, that was no problem. So, replacing this with an authentic Apple battery would still create an "Apple cannot verify genuine battery" message? 1:18

    My iPhone 11 Pro recently had charging issues and technician removed the battery. While reassembling he did not put any Adhesive back of battery. Now I feel my battery is heating a lot. Does it because of no Adhesive back of Battery? Do Adhesive act as thermal paste like the one we use in case of computer processor??? Please let me know and also if you can share a buying link…. Anyone else facing similar issue??? Please reply in detail

    So if a person has battery replzce by a genuine apple repair centre is the face unlock etc all intact ? Cos if not then you should be reimbursed as ur phones no longer 100% functional which ain’t right

    My iPhone 13 has one more cable to the screen by the top camera housing and another camera there that’s shown on the phone in this video. My phone is an A2655. Not sure what phone is in the video. Be careful around the top of the screen at the speaker/camera housing while taking the screen off. I broke mine.

      Yeah you won’t lose a thing but like the video said if you don’t program the new battery you won’t be able to see the information on the “battery” page in settings

      Distorted how? Muffled you mean? When using it as a handset, your earspeaker sounds off? What about when it’s on speakerphone.

    Excellent and very well done tutorial! Maybe it's just better to replace the iPhone with one that has an easily replaceable (and swappable) battery and standardized connectors and have batteries that last longer than a year. Apple's making it very difficult to continue to use their phones.

      Also wanna know! It seems like people aren't aware of the battery page in settings not reporting the percentage used by individual apps anymore if one replaces the battery without programming it. It's what's keeping me from replacing my iPhone X battery which is at 1755 cycles. I can't go to apple because my phone is jailbroken and I can't go to independent repair shops because they probably don't know they need to program it (how do I find a good one that does?) and I'm too lazy to find a programmer which maybe works and yolo-order it.

    the only problem is these "NEW" batteries dont seem to be new. I replaced mine in previous iphone versions and they lose their power much faster than teh original battery

    iPhone batteries are not rated for "up to" 500 cycles. That's just an underestimated number from Apple. Unless you EXTREMELY try to kill the battery as fast as possible, they'll last way longer than 500 cycles until they reach 80%.

      That is the definition of a rating though. It's the point where nearly all products are guaranteed to exceed the label. It's better (and more customer friendly) to claim what will happen, rather than what can.

      Their guides have always been for casual DIY’s. Not professional level repair. lol But if you’re gonna do it.. QianLi makes an amazing spot welder for around $50. As well as a programmer. It’s more or less pressing a few buttons and not very complicated. Just a lot of extra for somebody changing out just one battery. If you don’t already have all the tooling, it’s cheaper to just take it to apple or a reputable repair shop.

    It is actually getting a new battery and not a bogus or used one with a new label. There is never a honest source found on the internet but only a load of scammers trying to get your money. Why do the makers never sell a genuine new battery or at least an honest source of them.

    Uh huh. I’ll be leaving out the adhesive when it comes time to repair my phone. Don’t care, it’s mine. In fact, I did that with a 4s a few weeks ago. Battery doesn’t rattle or move. The adhesive is not needed and just makes crap harder to remove again.

    Apple items are very expensive and do not allow users to do any servicing. It is time Apple allowed folk to change batteries when needed, although I tend to buy a new phone every two years and avoid the problem.

    I hate so repair videos where phone is facing screen down to table and then repairer rub even more on it. No wonder from all the micro scratches come.
    Use some rubber under the phone so it stopa moving around
