I'm blown away. Your presentation is excellent. I shared this with my cohort , introducing your video with " A well spent 24 minutes for the artist, gardener, historian, and social activist. There's a little philosophical something in here for everyone and a lot for everyone's soul."

I would love for Siloe to tour Chanticleer in PA. Such a gorgeous public garden that I have never visited in person. They employ various ironworkers, carpenters, etc., that I think he would really appreciate.

Great new format in visiting gardens and I believe many would enjoy seeing more of this. My take on this was you explaining to people the thought behind garden design and how even the grandest ideas can be brought home in scale to their own smaller yards. With the detail you present I agree you could easily be a HGTV program.

I really enjoy the comprehensive breakdown of three dimensional space. It’s difficult to describe plants and spaces through media and film/pictures, but the use of graphics really help shape the space you’re referring to.

Your treatment of the history of this iconic garden made the video so much more provocative and enriching than a simple walk-through. I'll never view Central Park and cottage gardens in the same way again. Of course, I'd love to see more videos like this. ~ Lisa
    P.S. The videography was superb.

A beautifully put together video and I love that you did research to learn what and who was there before. I also really enjoyed learning about the golden bowl effect. This has been a type of garden that I've been yearning for for a very long time, but didn't know it was called that! I'm glad I have the term now, so I can use it when needing to describe garden goals. Speaking of gold, I'm glad they planted goldenrod! It's extremely important for monarch butterflies as well as other butterflies, too, this time of year and in Autumn, when less is blooming. Monarchs need that extra nectar boost before they migrate for the winter. Also, your art is stunning. Happy gardening!🌻🌿🌹🐞🐝🐛🦋

@@suburbanhomestead I definitely think what you want to do a video about is what you should do. I really enjoyed this format, but definitely don’t feel pinned down to it either. It clearly takes lots of research, editing, artwork renders, filming, and all the elements put into it are done very well. But when you put a video out, I know it is one I want to see! 🙂

Brilliant, Siloe! I lived in NYC for 35 years, left there 10 years ago; this was especially enjoyable as I knew where you were! After I moved to Brooklyn, I'd spend many Sunday afternoons at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a fabulous place--not as big as NY Botanical Garden but a real gem. Perhaps you will visit there some day. I would love to see more videos like this one. I hope you had many wonderful hours at the MMA, what a vast place.

I feel fortunate to live in Montreal where we have our own Olmstead designed park. Mount Royal Park was where my gran took me to feed the ducks and it is also where the family plot is so when I go to pay respects to them I feel surrounded by the beauty of nature. Excellent video! I've watched other videos about garden design, but your graphics really helped to demonstrate the principles for me. I'd be willing to bet that most city parks are on land that was't considered buildable. In my community we have a great public park because a family donated some of their land. It is also in a flood plain.

I loved your field trip to view the historic maps of the Central Park area, and how you integrated the story of how that area evolved into your presentation. Some of the images that you include are so interesting, and yet you only flash them on the screen for a split second. Maybe you could slow that pace down a bit, to give us a chance to really take them in? Yes, I would like to see more public gardens analyzed, as well as seeing updates on your own garden.

Thank you for your fanastic video of the park and seeing your garden..had always enjoyed the video,s of your garden.A few years back a friend of mine from here in Australia stayed in an apartment over looking the park .She often sent me postcards from her trips and she send one with 4 views of the of the park .It was so good in your video too see it's history really enjoyed that . I love my cottage garden and veggie patch areas and fruit trees . I had too start again as moved 5 and a half years ago . Lots of plants and cuttings came with me and most of my roses as my ex didn't like roses and said of course you can have them and you bought them . We did stay friends. We had worked in that garden and made a,secret garden . Cottage garden and flowers ,roses ,fruit trees ,bulbs and some veggies . Sadly my ex partner died after a,return battle of cancer . House got sold and the next owner an inverter just cleaned all the whole garden out all those mature fruit trees too . The best apricots I,d ever eaten . I cried for 2 weeks and was so thankful that I had this garden that I,ve added too here . Back too the roses....Over 6 mths I went too dig up the roses and replant here .Not an easy task as,I have MS . Most of them survived and grew much bigger in the volcanic soil . Lovely vases of flowers in the house through the spring summer and autumn . Dahlias grow so well too and gladies considering the vast difference in temps in the summer . Lucky have plenty water here on the farm I rent from family . Today while out front of the house planting a small turkey fig tree out near front veggie patch ,there about 6 older and cows in front paddock came up too check out what I was doing .One big cream cow came literly bouncing up too the fence ..Oh it was so funny was so thankful there was a fence between us . They all just stood there and I chatted too them. Made my day . Oh and yes would be lovely too see other gardens always inspiring and maybe get some new ideas .

WOW! This is really cool! I love how you turned it into a lesson as well as sharing the beauty. I'd love to see a follow up of this garden in the spring. Certainly seeing other gardens (as well as your own) to share those lessons is always welcome. Your explanation of the golden bowl helped me understand a vague idea I had been playing with in my head for one part of my yard. Now, I know the direction to take. Thanks!

Love it! I’m trying to figure out how to do a cottage garden with mostly natives from bulbs, seeds and tubers and yours are the only ones that address all the questions I have. I’m learning so much and you make it all see very doable. Thank you!

Excellent as always! Really enjoyed your analysis of the space & how to apply this to our own gardens. Thanks for always going the extra mile(s) to enrich the videos. It was great you included historical background to the park.
For me personally, i would like if some of your spacial explanations were slowed down a little, as there was so much to take in. Normally i watch things on 1.25 speed, lol. I just dont want to miss anything on yours!
And yes please do make more of these garden analyses. Totally amazing work, thankyou again x

I thought the pacing was perfect. However, I often return to sections and watch them at slower speeds to catch less obvious details, or to absorb the material more deeply.
