The amount of plants you can pack into every container never stop to amaze me! Always think "there it no way all those plants will fit those" but here you are haha Beautifully done!
Lina Sture Johannesson I was going to comment something like this! Lol Somewhere along the way I got some idea that it wasn’t good too pack containers very full, but then I never get the look I see that I love I’ll be adding more plants from here on out!
Thank you so much for this video! We moved from zone 9 to zone 6 and I had NO IDEA how to overwinter anything in my pots. This was so informative, especially the bit about choosing plants two zones lower than your own. Thanks again! 😁
Its not usually the frozen temps that kill plants, its the dryness that freezing causes. Before a deep freeze, water well so they can withstand the long drought, especially in a thin container, they could dry easily. Love these containers!
Laura’s planting wisdom and styling expertise, coupled with Aran’s clever video filming and editing is what keeps this channel the best of all Garden channels, keep up the great work 👏🏼👏🏼
LOVE! I’ve been using allot more smaller shrubs/trees in containers as well. The nursery lady where I shop says she has been seeing allot of people looking to do this as well. Yours are gorgeous!!
My favorite is the inkberry holly with the tabletop petunias 😍 Kudos to Proven Winners for breeding the petunias...with the flowers closer together the color is a lot more dense! In a good way!
Love your editing additions, Aaron and Laura, your style as always. Your videos are very inspiring and very calming to me especially after a long day working in a trauma center/ER.
You are the queen of containers Laura! Just gorgeous! I have a tower of galvanized buckets and wash tubs that I'm going to update for the season soon. Great inspiration.
Beautiful arrangements. Can you please do more of this kind of container gardening? This is perfect for us city dwellers that don't have land to do regular gardening. Aaron love your sense of humor 👍😄🍂🍁
I just wanted to thank you for the beautiful planters on my patio that were put together due to inspiration from this video. I planted two pots for winter interest on the patio and they looked great all winter and look even better now in the spring. I didn’t think it was possible to have year round green and blooms. The pansies bloomed all winter (it was a mild one) and they are going crazy now too, hanging down the side and full of colorful blooms. They bring me so much joy, so thank you for all of your inspiration ❤️!
Love this! Thank you so much. We just had the exterior of our house painted. We removed shrubbery in front of the house before the painting started and I think I’m going to do something similar to what you did for the winter months. Then, I can wait until spring to think about something more permanent.
Yes please! Gorgeous galvanized containers! Love what you put in them. Thank you for the reminder to get things going so you have pretty things through the winter!
Yeah, but that Strobilanthes dyerianus (Persian Shield) is absolutely beautiful, up close. It has deep purple outlined with an iridescent glow. Look it up on google images. This video did not do it justice.
Yes for sure, I have several of the Persian Shield out in my garden areas, since spring. They do wonderful and are so beautiful with that unexpected color and texture. But what I didn't know was that they can take the cold.
I love those yellow globe arborvitaes...they are a staple in my landscape and I over winter them for two or three years in concrete planters and then pop them out in the yard and start over with smaller ones again. They are so lush and fluffy and if they are in full sun, they hold that gorgeous chartreuse color all year! I tried lavender in galvanized troughs and tubs this summer and I’m going to mulch it well and try to over winter those with straw piled around them and hope for the best! Your containers are going to bring you smiles all winter!
Random Q: Can you recommend an online nursery for buy peonies and other perrenials? I'm in the middle of the USofA, yet all three local nurseries near me (1hr drive) have terrible stock. Maybe just throw out some online places that are good for perrenials (peonies❤️) and some that are good for seed buying. I read reviews but that becomes a headache real fast. You two have inspired me so much! Today professionals are finishing creating 6ft deep flower beds along perimeter backyard fence and graveling around veg &berry beds. So exciting to see our yard transformed so much. Large part of the praise goes to you two! Keep it up guys!
Very beautiful. Love the blue spruce. I garden in the Caribbean so the difference in temperature, watering schedule changes at different times of year, different plant choices etc are such a new experience for me. You work very hard guys. All the best. Thank you for sharing as always.
Coffee with Laura and a different look! I like the way you are mixing the textures of the evergreens and the flowers and foliage plants. Would love to do something like this at my work as I think the children would love seeing the evergreens all year long. Thanks for the ideas!
Well here I go back to the store to get some more pots and plants you always get me in the mood girl not that I'm never in the mood for plants thanks again
Oh my gosh I have always wanted to plant a baby blue spruce, so we bought one last October and I was ready to plant it in our front yard when the fire hit us (Campfire) needless to say the fire killed my sweet little tree and I have wanted to but another one when we get home and here you are planting one. I love the little blue spruce from my front yard to decorate for Christmas:) I never would’ve thought to wrap the container that way… Thank you for that information :-) now I’m super excited to plant my little tree first I have to find a nursery that has one :-) you just make up looks so easy I always worry did I put enough soil around the roots of the plants then sometimes I think I put too much soil. And I just love the way you give so much information about each of the plants :-) thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day:)
Thank you so much for sharing such amazing tips, ideas, knowledge etc with so much passion. Absolutely love your videos, they bring so much joy. Loves and big hug from Argentina
I am loving the comedy in the edits these days. Aaron's editing and Laura's occasional bloopers are awesome. Thanks for being real and showing us the reality of producing your own show. Just awesome!
The Baby Blue Spruce will grow 25 feet tall and 15 feet wide for people who have limited space it’s still a big tree! 🌲 Love your videos Laura and I have learned so much from you!
Good morning, Laura & Aaron! These turned out so pretty! Love the galvanized containers with these plant combos. As always, so much inspiration! Thank you! 🙌💚🌿
I love the Baby Blue spruce! I have used evergreens in my winter containers with varying results. Now I will have to figure out what to do for this year. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love the persian shield and blue pine tree together SO MUCH. Those two alone would be an eye full. Wonder what it would look like to wrap the pots in twinkle lights then wrap bubble plastic over the lights all around the pot, also. I imagine very frosty and ice cube-y. You always inspire!
It's so fun seeing the seasons change in reverse for you and being reminded of my other favourite time of year as I sit here eating spring greens pie and watching the buds open on my cut flowers :) Love from Australia!
LOVE this! I can't wait to start transitioning to fall/winter. Side note~my friend and I purchased your shirts. They came with a horrible chemical smell! I know you obviously don't personally make them but it may be something you want to check on with the vendor. Thanks for always giving us such great videos and info 💜
I love the containers!!!! You answered questions I had about evergreens & containers - thank you! I have learned so much since I started following you! I have completely changed the way I garden & my gardens are giving me shows!!!! I have gotten lots compliments on the shows my gardens display!! 😍💚🌿🌻🍁🍂🌲💚🌿
I never heard the rule of the plant zones in pots but I have learned this on my own at 74 years of age. Just yesterday I was faced with this issue where the plant might become a victim of this issue and my way of dealing with this was to bury the pot and I will retrieve it in the spring.
Your containers are fabulous. Love watching your videos. You and Arron make a great team . I’ve been watching daily since I discovered your videos. I fall asleep at night to your voice 👍😊
Love those containers!! Those vessels are so neat and I love the evergreens in them! 💕. We just planted a few small blue spruce so we are excited to see how they do in our garden bed this year! Great info on overwintering everything too! Thanks! Best wishes!
I love love the containers AND your plant choices. I can just see the sparkle of frost on those during a cold winter morning. Just beautiful. Tfs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I just saw this video everything you do is beautiful don't have the budget are the health to get down on my knees anymore to do it but I love your videos thank you so much for sharing Vicky Texas
I love the containers and combo of plants you chose. Thank you for your knowledge and influence to my garden. I am doing a bunch of home renovations this year and planning next year's garden based on all of your videos.
I just found my inspiration for my planter transition from summer to fall/winter. I live on Vancouver Island and they will do well through the winter and look very festive for Christmas! Thanks for the great videos and all the information and tips that you send our way. I love those containers and may get some! My daughter lives in Seattle and could bring them to me since the company doesn't ship outside the U.S. : ))
So gorgeous. And I learned a LOT. I didn't know Dichondra could take a light frost. That's wonderful because I planted it in containers for the first time this season -- because of a certain someone :p. I'm in zone 7a and wasn't sure when I should take it inside if I decide to overwinter it. Oh, and btw, I have my Dichondra in full shade and nearly full shade and it's still done quite well.
Hi Laura and Aaron! I love those containers, but they are kind of expensive, especially to get all three. Love the evergreens and annuals together. Great choices! I particularly love the purple shield. Thank you for sharing!
Lovely Trio ! . . . The ' Baby Blue Spruce ' Really Didn't Need Plantings Under It Though, Its Beauty Alone Gives Rest To The Eye, Even In White Palette Groupings.

Glad you mentioned how tall and wide the baby blue spruce got, I just planted mine a week ago . All the containers look very nice.
Thank you so much for this video! We moved from zone 9 to zone 6 and I had NO IDEA how to overwinter anything in my pots. This was so informative, especially the bit about choosing plants two zones lower than your own. Thanks again! 😁
That Superbell Tabletop White is GORGEOUS!! I'll be keeping my eye out for that one!

LOVE! I’ve been using allot more smaller shrubs/trees in containers as well. The nursery lady where I shop says she has been seeing allot of people looking to do this as well. Yours are gorgeous!!
Great combination, love the look of the metal pots. The blue spruce really stands out. Love it!

I am running to the nursery and attempting to do it. Thanks soooo much.
I love the galvanized containers! They all look so nice planted too.
Yes I really love them too.❤️
I love the white flowers with the evergreens. It’s not a lot of colour but it’s striking ❤️🇨🇦

I love the combination of the blue spruce and the galvanized aluminum container! ❤️🌿❤️
Thank you for addressing the fertilizer issue. I’ve been trying to find out if it’s ok to fertilize late summer/ fall planting with Biotone.
I absolutely love how these containers turned out!!!

My goodness, I love your grouping of plants and evergreens.
