I always see this case as being a crime of passion between the two of them . Such a sad ending for them both .
he was also an alcoholic, it is claimed this may even fed into the beatings
I’ve always been fascinated by Ruth Ellis and recently read about her in a paperback book. She seemed a troubled soul, and I believe you’re right Paul, they were quite a couple...very fiery! Thanks for showing his grave. Very sad really, so young...
I’m a new subscriber from Canada 🍁 n luv your kindness & respect shown of all your stories of the deceased. I grew up watching British shows & still watch all the British shows of 70’s- n know many of the celebrities graves that you visit.
It was kind of you with the crows, crows are very smart birds as have seen them in action often. When one is found dead by whatever ways the crows come together & have a last goodbye sort of interesting it was in a cemetery. I’ve seen crows sit on ph lines watching over a fallen dead crow. They are amazing birds. TY, 🍁🍁🍁
Thank you for subscribing... Yes I love crows too, used to feed them in the cemetery as a kid. I have loads of them tattooed on me....
great one this also the film with Rupert Everett and Miranda Richardson is also very good Keep it up Paul
So interesting! thanks for the video. Sad but fascinating story
Another great video. If you have trouble reading an inscription try spraying it with plain water, it sometimes helps.
What an amazing story , your content just gets better and more educational thank you
Hi Paul, you do a great job, thank you so much for the many video clips.Every one is short , but very informative .No waffling or long silent gaps . Please continue with what you do so well
I'm an ardent Taphophile and am a volunteer guide at one of the 'Magnificent Seven'' London Cemeteries.
I enjoy exploring graveyards for the stories behind the monuments, so your channel is of great interest.
I visited both David Blakely and Ruth Ellis' grave yesterday with respect for both of them.
She was just as much a victim as he was, IMO.
We used your interesting and informative videos to help pinpoint the graves and found them very easily.
Thank you
Thank you Sue, glad it was of help to you
Watch the 1985 film - Dance With A Stranger - based on the sad true tragic events that took place in 1955 of this doomed relationship.
Paul you are amazing yet again keep doing what you are doing love this channel x
That was intresting i think weve all heard of Ruth Ellis and i know ive heard of David but i dident know how he was killed .it was very brutal. As you say nobody deserves thst.thanks for taking us along.
I love the famous line I think I found it
A very well kept grave yard.
love the content, some fascinating stories Paul, keep up the great work, subbed .
Brilliant as always paul
Hi Paul thank you for doing this. Love the channel ❤️
Absolutely beautiful surroundings , very calm and tranquil
Mr Blakley was on the younger side but seemed immature and perhaps not quite the best suitor. I suppose no one deserves death, but sometimes you reap what you sow. Tragic still
Paul is always pleasent.even though he may have a long journey to the grave he visits as here.
Apparently there are 2 bullet holes/marks still visible on the wall outside of that pub. Dont know how true that is but so ive heard. Great video too, thanks for sharing.
It’s very true.
You are so sweet Paul I could imagine that you would be quite protective you seem quite informed quite layer back and comfortable in your own skin you make me laugh cry and smile depending on the graves you visit 😊
Thanks for all these interesting stories. Always look forward to what you come up with next x
Hi Paul I loved the video as I had never heard of David or Ruth Ellis but as per usual you always do a lot of research and paint a wonderful picture and story for me so once again thankyou so much Paul
Thanks
Great stuff, thank you Paul. Best wishes

Nicely presented as always . Just remember your sunscreen protection .
Loved reading abt the Ruth Ellis murder such a sad case tbh must say love watching your channels
Hi Paul, thank you so much for sharing your post's. I have always been interested in what you do. Something you said really hit home and that was . " Thank you for what you brought to this earth ". Ponder over it and it's clear to see what you said effects us all. Thank you.
You are very welcome. 🙏 thanks for your comment
Thank you for a interesting Video.
Beautiful churchyard 😘
Hey Paul, this is a well made video as quite often things are forgotten in modern life. I also read that Dr Flora Murray who was the partner of Dr Louisa Garrett Anderson is buried in the same church yard. I think Louisa was cremated, but a memorial to both is there. ✝️
Loved it and they say the sun shines on the righteous
Knew a little about Ruth Ellis, but nothing about David. Just watched your 2nd video. Thanks for the video and the history.
I like the brick wall with the archway with a little roof on the top halfway down, the graveyard looks nice in the sunshine, great video.
A cool story Paul, looking forward to part 2.
Your videos are fantastic I love all the info with it ,I too visit cemetrys s but have yet to come across a celebrity.I just love how peaceful they are
Great video very interesting
Very sad but interested story and very complicated xx
I alway get told how weird it is because i just love churches and graveyard's but to me the peace and tranquility of these locations are so beautiful ❤️
Look forward to it
Hiya Paul, hope your good, really enjoyed this one as I read about this story years ago, book called crimes and victims, new I recognised her haha. Thanks as always mate 🙂

@@UnusualThings1 thankyou paul xxx take care
many thanks. I knew who Ruth Ellis was but have learnt more. cheers Paul
Love the channel ... Very interesting content ... Was wondering if you could do a piece on Patrick fyffe... Aka Dame Hilda bracket.... Keep up the good work.... 👍👍
This story has always fascinated me over the years Ruth Ellis and David a tragic story
Me too, the film starring Miranda Richardson and Rupert Everett is worth a watch of you haven't seen it already it's called Dance with a stranger
@@sheenamaclean8324 thank you I will give that a watch as I haven't seen it yet
@@wendymudkins8208 it's pretty old probably from the 80's still worth a watch.
Very interesting story buy a handsome guy . Nice relaxing voice.
He treated Ruth like trash ........... so in the end he got what was coming to him .................. a truly nasty bit of work was Blakeley.
Hello Paul
Loved the video thanks again for another great video 😊👍
So glad you did this one Paul, I've always been fascinated with this crime. Wasn't there a TV drama once called Dance with a Stranger about this (may have got the title wrong)
Spoiling us with 2 videos Paul! Look forward to them 😊
I agree nicola 2 vids can't wait x
Paul, your videos are well presented, very professional , well done, I do like your site, informative to say the least
Paul what about Bernie Nolan of the nolans
Heading north later this year
Evening Paul. Yes a very harsh way to got . She must of really had enough to go this far. Now onto part 2
Another great vid And info Paul, Look forward to watching Ruth's
Great one on the Crime files,I'd like it if you could do one on Frankie Fraser because he was a distant relative of mine.
My parents always said they should of also got the person who handed the gun to her, they were equally guilty.
Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed watching your channel brilliant keep up the good work thank you 😊 take care keep safe drive carefully all your family 😊👍
Very interesting,I new a bit about Ruth Ellis app she was the last woman to be hanged,I think they had a very toxic relationship,no one deserves to be shot and murdered, thank you Paul xxx😊
great video Paul
Hi Paul I love your videos
New viewer. Good stuff!
Beautifull place so peaceful looking I can see now why the saying rest in peace
Love your grave visits of the ones we saw on TV and big screen, have you checked out
Eddie Yates coronation street fame ? Gordon Jackson or Peter Gilmore of onedin line ?
Love your easy but interesting format it's like been there myself , great work
Thank you, not checked them out yet. 🙏
Er hatte sicherlich keinen gesunden Lebensstil.
Ja, man darf verstorbenen nichts nachsagen.
Danke, Paul für deine Worte 👍🙏
Das ist richtig Christal!
Sounds like a classic case of a narcissist meeting a borderline...Often very violent both physically and mentally thus seldom ends well.
If he was abusive he got what was comming
Another enjoyable video. Do you know when you visited David Blackley's Grave you were a mile away from the Breakspear Crematorium with LOADS of well known people interned
🤦♂️ I’m sure I’ll be up that way again soon.
Oh what a very tragic story,I no about Ruth Ellis but I did not no the man she killed.Very interesting thank you Paul,I really enjoyed listening to his sad story.❤️
Do you know: the bullet holes are still visible today in the pub in London.
Hi, Paul l only really know the bare bones of this story didn't know that they both play away but l knew he was a bit of SOB, not someone you might want as a friend as always mate keep up the good work.
Nice video i might check it out not far from Croydon.
I think she loved him more than he loved her. 👍
I don’t think it was as cut and dried as was made out, that’s if the film is anything to go by. I don’t think she should’ve been tried for murder, manslaughter maybe. There are 2 sides to every story. 🥺
Ruth was abused all her life by men. She was tolerant of abuse. It was stockholm syndrome. Only those of us who have gone through it, can fully understand it. He made her feel she couldn’t live without him, even after him making her miscarry. He forced an abortion on her by doing that. Ruth wanted to please him. Even trying to take her own life was a sign of this. She didn’t deserve what she went through.
He was a horrible man he treat Ruth like dirt. He got what was coming to him. If he hadn't abused her I'm sure she wouldnt habe killed him. She loved him but think she was out of her mind at the time of killing him. Her hanging started the abolition of the death penalty.
It is horrific that Ruth Ellis was hung for this crime. She should have gone to prison instead. David Blakely treated her appallingly , although i don't condone Ruth killing him.
Hi Paul another great video could you please do the grave of Wendy Richard?
She’s cremated and ashes spread in London
@@UnusualThings1 OK mate no worries keep up the good work and will ponder some further suggestions
I read the book on Ruth Ellis with David you was right was toxic thanks Paul. ❤good book to read Ruth Ellis last women to hang
Liked the vlog from Margaret p
Hola paul, nicely presented vid as usual, like the channel there are others on you tube simular but yours is the best presented in my opinion bro. Peter..alicante
❤️
I remember the name Ruth Ellis but sadly I had forgotten the victims name David , shows what happens when the attacker has more publicity than the victim , nothing's changed there then , Ruth Ellis was hung in 1955 by our own Albert Pieerpoint ,the last female to be executed by hanging in the United Kingdom , her hanging was also the beginning of the abolition of capital punishment in the United Kingdom ,
It was also helped by the wrongful hanging of Timothy Evans. He was hung in 1950.
👌
Big thank for all you do, very interesting, have you thought about doing one on the boxer Freddie Mills, his death was very strange, it was believed he killed himself in the back of his car
Didn’t know anything about this one… interesting though!! 👍🏻
the pub is still there in hampstead an the bullet hole is still visable in the pub outside.
@@paulsalmon7701 I think it's fake
As those who entered the church take an oath never to reveal what is said to them. It's like a doctor they are the same.
Why does David blakeley look like Anthony perkins playing norman bates
Nobody deserves being shot down outside a pub but he didn't treat her.right and paid a very high price
It was very sad foe them both and especially for Ruth's children.
Thank you Paul, far too young to die but I'm afraid I understand what pushed Ruth Ellis to do this although I don't condone what she did. Rip Mr Blakely xx
Try and see Elizabeth sladen (Sarah Jane smith)
