Yes, well stated. Unfortunately, limping ivy will bring any building down much quicker than bare brick. Such a shame this school has been left to rot away - it must’ve been beautiful in its day. Good job here! Well done, you man (and his friend!)! ❤️🐈
I really appreciate your sensitivity to the history of these incredible places and your dedication to preserving their images! P. S. Thanks for showing the boiler room. It’s one of my favorite places in these old buildings. They were all steam heated in those days. Great exploration
You are one of my very favorite explorers. You are so humble and soft spoken. I was amazed at how big the classrooms were. The ceilings so high, as well. No A.C. back in the day. The schools today would never last through all the elements for 144 years. Thanks for sharing such an groovy video. Stay safe out yonder. P€ac€ ~n~ £0v€✌️
Nice explore this. Particularly impressed with how respectful you are to the condition of the building. I’ve seen a few fair popular urbex channels doing dumb stuff in their explores.
This is amazing! My great grandparents used to live in Ripley along the river in Ohio, not too far from Higginsport! I’ve driven past this school many times. People in these small towns are pretty chill and don’t mind people walking around. The school closed down in 1988. Thanks for coming local to Cincinnati!
I'm here at home on a monday night, living in Germany, watching this beautiful architecture from 1880 in america. The world is crazy, but sometimes in a good way!
I love your videos because not only is it fascinating seeing your explorations, but your personality is lovely too. Thank you or being so respectful, soft-spoken and cautious
Wow, so incredibly beautiful! Thank you, always, for capturing the beauty of these places you visit. I always get so excited to see new content from you. It's so refreshing and heartwarming, I love the respect and passion you have for documenting these abandoned places that were once lively.
Just a heads up to any other curious people,I was down that way Sunday afternoon and stopped by to take some pictures outside after seeing this video and it didn’t take long at all before a sheriff was there questioning me. Not sure if I was just unlucky or if they’re watching this place more now.
JFI, almost all the old buildings that were schools, city offices government buildings ETC., had asbestos in the plaster, and the insulation around the old pipes is almost pure asbestos. My old highschool had asbestos sprayed on the ceilings. Most furnaces and boilers had asbestos in the fireboxes. They had no idea how dangerous the mineral was until we started seeing the results. Most old rural houses had mostly cow hair as a binder in the plaster. The cart looking device in the boiler room is a stoker. It used coal that was crushed and had an auger which fed coal into the firebox when it called for heat. The only reason the building is still there probably is because it has asbestos and it would cost too much to tear it down. Interesting video, thanks for posting! Smiles.
Very cool vid!! I LOVE old schools.. This is amazing! I really hope you let someone know where you are going before you go exploring alone.. Very dangerous.. Especially in buildings like that. I was cringing a bit as you were walking through.. Stay safe man!
loved the video. As a Ohioian who lives less than 2 hrs from this school this is the first time I have ever heard ohio be called the south. The South historically considered south past the mason dixion line.
Absolutely love places like these. The many lives and silent history that happened here is still seen for what's left of it, and that in of itself is very remarkable. Urbex is a hobby I would love to get into, but until then I thoroughly enjoy the chance for being on the outside looking in. Stay safe and be careful! I know sometimes those areas it's the unfriendly locals that are more cause for worry than creaky boards.
08:56 this inscription now has such a very telling message, looking at the technical state of the room in which it is located.... Beautiful building, fine architecture. I like it here very much. I am curious what it would have been like to attend such a school as much as what its walls would tell us - how many first successes, first failures, first loves and the like they have seen. It is a shame that the school is left to its own devices, at its mercy collapsing day after day. By the way, the vandal responsible for this graffiti was probably a fan of 80s horror films.
I love your channel and I thank you for the places you explore u put yourself in Erie and scary and don’t know if people are staying in these kind of places for viewing content so thank you
Hey Devin, hopefully I’m speaking for not only myself but I’m okay with seeing things from a distance. Don’t put yourself in danger/intense anxiousness for our sake. ❤️
The classrooms are so large and the windows must have let in so much light. Did you notice the sign NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS! I thought was appropriate for this explore.
Never went to a school that old but did attend a couple WWI-era Junior and Senior High schools in Baltimore back in the 1960s. Both buildings are still in use - one is still a school and the other is used by the Dept. of Education Administration. I think the old school building classrooms had a warmer atmosphere with all the woodwork trim, wood and iron desks, and hardwood floors.
Pepsi Free was phased out in 1987. It is what is now known as Caffeine Free today. It was once red but to not be confused with the Coca Cola branding, it was changed to gold. It now keeps part of that gold now that Pepsi is blue but the caffeine free is now outlined in gold. Neat find!
This is not merrely 100+ yr. old. It's almost a century and a half! Filmed precisely in time to appreciate it, as I'm pretty sure in no time only the outer walls will remain, if anything, with all the rest caved in. Very nice explore.
Cracking video man, genuine question I know you’re not a paranormal investigator but is that something you believe in? Ever come across something unexplained like that in a place like this?
I wonder if the school district still owns this or if it had been sold to someone else by now. It seems like that building in such bad shape that I suspect that it will eventually be wrecking balled. It would have been a nice building to repurpose years ago when it closed as a school, but it is sad that it was left to rot out.
@dark exploration films. Pepsi free was introduced in the early 80s and was a caffeine free soda, and there was as well a Diet Pepsi free variant as well.
At 17:10 they didn’t want people using the toilet is incorrect. it’s to keep the zombies from getting out. Great videos. New to your channel. Just subscribed. 👍👍
Did he mention the deep south? I dint see it mentioned in the title? Doesnot really matter, though. Im from NM and I wouldn't have a clue where the deep south ends or begins. If you live in that area of course you'd be knowledgeable of what is what, though.
I JUST CANT BELIEVE WHY THEY WAIT UNTIL GREAT OLD BUILDINGS LIKE THIS GET SO BAD OFF ,,, THEN THEY CANT FIX THEM UP ... THESE BUILDING HAVE HISTORY AND COULD BE USED FOR ADULT LIVING LOW INCOME .. NOW ITS TO LATE ITS LOW LOW NO LIVING!!!!!!! PLEASE BECAREFUL.. BRING YOUR CELL PHONE,,, AND THANK YOU !!
If it was nearby a bigger City this would probably be some idea, since this building was made out of bricks, but even then, roofs are very expensive to make nowadays. Also keep in mind that its probably a bit far away into countryside. Probably not a lot People would like to move into such place.

You were mostly safe. That was vinyl tile probably put in in the 80's. Asbestos tiles don't curl up like that. Also hard to explain but you can kinda tell from the color/pattern sometimes. At least the ones in that one room. Tiles in the basement. Most likely asbestos.

I wouldn't categorize it as Gothic. Thanks for the documentary. It is much appreciated.

Those carbon dioxide tanks are how restaurants still make your soda. We get a bag of syrup and the machine you see adds the water and the carbonation
