Abandoned Mountaintop Hospital with everything left (20 years of Natural Decay)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лис 2020
- Our journey begins at the base of a mountain we are about to ascend, at the top lies a hospital built in 1913 and abandoned in 2003. Everything was left behind leaving the current environment the perfect location out of Fallout. Multiple operation rooms and many surgical lights reflect back at us while we shine our lights into the darkness. A full library of knowledge, a decaying chapel and much more awaits. If you enjoyed, a thumbs up would let me know right away. Thanks for watching

In the medical field, books are only relevant for about five years because medical treatment and research develops and improves so often. However, old medical books are really fun to collect. So they could be sold to collectors.
Gotta say your channel is the next best thing to Proper People. They win because of the photography work of course (hard to beat, they've got the equipment and the experience), but your demeanor and understanding of when to talk and when to let the building speak for itself is right up there with them. Keep up the great work!
If you're into the photography, you should follow Steve Ronin, if you don't already. Some of the best work I've ever seen.
imho, the Proper People are too loud ... yell too doggone much
@@groofootdo they? I have watched almost all of their vids and I can’t remember them ever yelling annoyingly.
“Shh you trying to get the cops to come? Chill out” I love it 😂
Just keeping it real haha
I was born in that hospital in 1976. Visited it a few times right up until it closed. All I'll say is it's in upstate NY.
do you know why it shut down? It's a shame to see such a large complex that was active for 84 years shut down. This stuff always makes me sad to see.
@@97JoMiller small community couldn't sustain the financial burden to maintain such a big hospital for such a small town. There used to be much larger businesses and manufacturing facilities in this area that helped support the need for this hospital, but once those started to close it affected all surrounding areas.
Only a few sections of this were still open in 2003, some of the buildings he explored had been abandoned years prior. I visited that ER around 1996 and at that time only the ER and a few buildings were operational.
Figures. Upstate NY. That whole state is going to hell. I used to live in Oswego.
You have a great voice cadence when you narrate.. and you are appropriately quiet so the place speaks to the viewer..I really enjoyed watching 👍
Me too
yep; most of the time he speaks in a fairly quiet voice, and that's one of the reasons he's one of the best explorers .... I can't stand yelling
Your editing technique and calm demeanor is so appealing . This was a great video and I love that clip you put in from a few years ago , really set an interesting mood. This channel is incredible .Thankyou!
The library room is gorgeous. I would be in heaven to have a room like this in my home just for books.
The decay is mind blowing. Incidentally, I love the sounds of the birds outside the residences, it adds to the abandoned atmosphere
Hospitals are my favorite also. What a beautiful setting!! Never saw one before with homes for the Docs and Nurses right on location ! Great Vid!! Thanx!👍
I have a backlog of so many hospitals so those types of videos are guaranteed !
I was very common for hospital to provide housing halls or floors within the hospital up until WWII. Lots of times the hospital was a distance from town and it was cheaper to provide housing than to pay the nurses more. Additionally the nursing staff worked long hours and women didn't usually have families and jobs, just made sense.
Mansion are mine..I could watch those 24/7.. 😁
Such a great explore
Hey Chris where are was this hospital?
Is this J.N Adams? We were there twice to explore.
Being a future surgeon, seeing those old surgery rooms with those big ol' lights gave me a rush! Old abandoned hospitals are my favourite!
Enjoy your closed down Hospital video's, it must be great to go to a closed Hospital's and find that it is natural deterioration not brought on by vandalism, keep up the great video's.
Thanks for the kind words Nigel
All the knowledge in those books now fits in the palm of your hand 🤚
LOVED the opening! Really touched me, now let’s explore!
That was an original Cabbage Patch doll. I remember that craze.
A number of hospitals I’ve been to have small chapels or rooms to pray in.
The nurses housing was there for the original build of the hospital as it was a teaching hospital and students and staff nurses slept there. There are very few, if any hospital based nursing schools these days as it all pretty much moved to college/universities now.
Lol I love That SQUIRREL he was just about to injoy a snack straddling the door like he was using the door to crack open that nut squirrels are awesome
Appreciate your quiet respect for the place. It's a wonderful location. So glad it's free of graffiti, etc. I noticed in comments someone asked if you ever take souvenirs. The legitimate explorers (of which you are one) never take anything. They leave the place pretty much as they found it. It's still stealing to take something from the locations explored. Respectful people don't take things that aren't theirs. Very nice video. Thank you!
Hospital explorers are my favorite of any explore. And this one was absolutely spectacular. Odd how parts of the building was in good condition. Whereas, other parts were decaying so much quicker. Beautiful campus as well. Thank you so much for sharing. Not alot of left over equipment, but great video regardless!! Your calm and peaceful demeanor during the explore brings an added bonus of which some explorers do not have. They have way to many people involved during their filming which takes away immensely from the affects of the video. Your voice is very appealing and calming with no unnecessary cursing or jabber. Great job. Thank you for sharing!!! 😊

I could spend hours going through all that paperwork lol my curiosity always gets the better of me 😂 ohh yes and those books too
The view was beautiful! The condition of the last house was a pity, but from the little you were able to show us it seemed gorgeous!
Great cinematography bro. Also, you scared the crap out of those girls. haha.
I'm glad you could make it through the entire facility without being disturbed. I live right near this and I have always been curious about it. Thanks.
Where is it? Such an awesome location
@@chrisayers2737someone said upper NY state.
What an awesome explore!! Laughed hard when you walked up to the girls.😂 I bet the facility was beautiful in its prime. Thank you for the great explore!!👍😎
I miss the time I explored this place. I love rewatching this video, it captures the buildings so beautifully.
These are amazing. I always get chills watching. Id love to see theae places for myself
Would love to go out with you guys on this. I know, I love it just as much as you or even more. The adventure, seeing past things, what was before I was born. The smell, of these old places gets my blood boiling!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to film this! So awesome to watch
This channel is far better than proper people, cheers!
Your urbex explorations are my huge (guilty?) pleasure.
Nothing guilty about it! Haha
Very much appreciate the story about this place. I impressive piece of property, beautiful views. They are magnificent. Very cool tour.
I love how you know when to speak, and when to say nothing. Nice work.
This is the ultimate compliment to me, thank you
@@DarkExplorationYou are welcome. It's true, and frankly, it's rare. Again, good work. :)
Loving your work Devin ,love that you are so genuine and concerned about the places you explore.always a great watch
Magnificent spot ! Beauty of natural decay is just beyond words.
Also- wouldn’t this make the best movie set?!! Like some post-apocalyptic zombie movie or something. 😁
Lovely intro music, what a great explore in a wonderful setting. The library, wow!!! thank you for finding it for us xx
Thanks for sharing this, I just love looking at the history of all the old places. ❤️
Gorgeous countryside, unspoiled hospital, and some excitement, great job!
- lowering the ceilings and covering the arched windows was probably an attempt to save heating costs.
Yes I loved it👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely gorgeous view
Where ever this location is it must be VERY humid! Your calm voice makes it easier to watch to the end! Keep the videos coming! If you need some locations I know of MANY, contact me and I will gladly share!
lmao I had started to fall asleep just as the girl screamed and it scared the shit out of me too. Fun all around 😂
I’m happy I found your channel. Thankyou for what you do for us x
What a pleasure to watch. Just frozen in time, beautiful location without vandalism.

Love your video editing, pictures and of course content. Always excited to see a new video!
That was a beautiful place but looked dangerous inside. Enjoyed watching your video
THESE ARE FREAKIN AWESOME
Wow beautiful location. Love that library. Awesome explore. Cute knick knacks on that tv. I need to find places like this. They always cover with drop ceilings it's so crazy. Decay decay decay love it.
id love to look through some of those books
Just discovered your videos. I love your subject matter and your vision. What a great way to chronicle history. Your voice and tone are perfect for this.
Some areas look like someone was there before you, that was as conscientious about not messing with stuff.
Amazing Tour, Thanks (from Australia)
*Outstanding exploration.*
SUCH a great video man! I have been to this hospital myself a couple times and it is my fav spot of all time. Def gonna go back and clean it up a bit and film another video.
How has it managed to avoid graphiti and vandalism for so long??
W😍W! Thanks for posting x
Oh man!....I love your videos.... Very inspiring and I love watching them you make them so interesting wish I was there with you and exploring I like old abandoned things
Man that’s a dope explore very interesting. Love all the old stuff left behind. Thanks for the epic adventure 😃👍
A very nice old place with very nice decay and no vandals.
Great job on your videos. Stumbled across your channel about 3 weeks ago and I've binged watched all of your stuff. I like the fact that you try to keep the locations of your videos private. I enjoy watching them for clues and then trying to figure out where you were. Keep it up. Looking forward to new content.
Great video. That place is awesome. All those books in the library is really cool
17:23 agreed, arch windows, shutters, amazing staircase, chunky skirting boards, dado rails 🥰🐨
I love watching you're content, keep up the good work.
Beautiful video, hope you are well. Wish you all the best and can't wait next new adventure 😊
Wow, I got the chills come over me at the 2 signs on the floor 😳
As always Devin another amazing explore. Your filming, editing and narration just keeps getting better and better. I love all your films of your explorations, you're the best and my favourite urban explorer of them all ,👍💪😘 x
i live for your photogenic angles. they’re crazy good. i would love to take film pictures while exploring these spots. cheers man.
Great video. I love the natural decay
Very cool exploration, well done! 👏🏻
Great video guy's. Enjoyed watching. Take care
Keep up the good work and exploring for us
wow....What a place. That's called a Nurses Home and most hospitals had them. I am wondering if this was a TB hospital, up on the mountain. I bet it would be a fantastic paranormal investigation site.
Really enjoy your adventures 👍
Cool video and place! I wish you would have shown more. Absolutely loved the scenic shots!
I wonder if some of the buildings closed before the main hospital closed. There is a hospital closed for a little more then 20 years near me and a couple of the smaller buildings closed a long time before the main building.
I'd only take the books and maybe some of the bunny things cuz I love that kind of stuff lol oh and pictures of the state of the place
Love your videos u really capture the nature and beauty and it’s so relaxing love it
Great episode! I love your channel!
Great job at filming and explaining!
🔥🔥love this
Holy smokes ,that's awesome , greetingsfrom New Zealand , that's cool , love it 👍👍👍😎
Thank you for making such good videos 🙏😊
I can't believe how many of these places were built in out-of-the-way locations. These buildings look like they've been decaying for longer than 20 years.
those girls screams made me jump omg
great
greatings from the netherlands Keep up the great work!
Good explore! Loving your videos. A tip for the future- get some more shots of the old clocks in these buildings if you could please. I would love to see them and I’m sure there are others out there that feel the same way. Thanks and keep it up!
24:20 = that's a really cool flashback ...! Here in my hometown there's an abandoned psychiatric hospital, and it is guarded, pretty much 24/7, by rent a cops who drive around slowly just like that dude .... and yet people still say, 'yeah, man, you should go check it out; the guards hang around in front, so ya just go in the back!' ... and I'm like, no way ... I'm not taking the chance
I haven't gamed in years but this reminds me of something... maybe manhunt? Something like that 🤔 awesome video 👌
Great explore & as usual great editing. Its odd for such a facility to be in the middle of no where unless they were housing mentally ill or as other's said like TB or some type of contagious patients. Too bad you couldn't explore the house at the end more. Was surely like the top Dr's pad of the facility. That 3 car garage looked to be burnt at some point from the roof being charred & mostly gone.
Stay safe & keep up the great work!
Really cool hospital campus.
Looks like there was a fire in part of the building. I don’t understand how 17 years can decay a building that fast. Great video, tho!!
Time for another quality video thanks
I commend your way of thinking and appreciation for woodwork and craftsmanship. The world needs more like us, thank you
I wish you had done some close up views of all the medical books…fascinating!
Your channel is fabulous!
WOW A MOUNTAINSIDE HOSPITAL!
The excitement over the adult diapers haha also the medical file room is so cool I need a filing system like that for my room wth
Sweet. If those walls could talk...
