The trick of the Royal Remains set is to pair it with the Death Bird items (eg the shield and the branch sword charms), and then do the thing no one in this game seems to understand is useful: *level Vigor*
Usually the glintstone crowns are worth it at lower levels. If the hat gives you 6 points in other stats, that gives you 6 extra points to put back into vigor, which can surpass the 9% loss.

As someone doing a playthrough with the Duelist set, the Leggings, helm and ALTERED chest will all have the effects of pulling enemy aggression towards you from other players, and allow them to keep an aggression range further which can pull enemies from more advantageous placements towards you. I spent like five minutes realizing that the unaltered didn't have the effects since I was doing fashion play. Also iirc the pumpkin head also has pretty good focus? I don't use it, my friend does. (Wearing that helm, Margit's robes basically plays as pumpkin head)
Elden ring really needs a transmog system so we don't all have to wearing all this ugly shit lol. They could add a toggle got pvp where you will see the person's "true" armor so you can understand their build better at a glance of course.
Yeah they even have the armor alteration system in their, and as it is currently, the stuff you can use it on is really limited. At first I figured it’d at least let me change colors on armor or something, but as is it feels like it’s a really rushed/unfinished system.
Another problem with these "free perks" is that the ones that look cool have negative effects. So if you are just wearing it for fashion and not for the perk you are taking a penalty for fashion.
One thing i noticed about the royal remains set is its defense to weight ratio is very poor, theres some armors that weigh less and blue gains across the board, so i wouldnt use it unless its for fashion, it can also help to not die from poison if stacked with other items but sort of a niche use
Fire pot I tend to spam out a lot in the earlier game. Shroom and fire butterflies are easy to either get as you go or farm in like two runs. The better pots tend to take so much effort to farm.
The giantsflame pot, which can land for insane damage if you build around it, just takes two fire blossoms. Once you kill morgott you can farm hundreds in minutes.
Oh yes I love this I’m too lazy too check which armor does what and usually just go for the most damage negation and my character ends up looking bulky
Hey Youwy, love your comprehensive and in-depth guides for various weapons/talismans/armors. I wanted to know, mainly for PvE what is the minimum amount of Poise one should strive for. Or is it worth it to stack a lot of poise?
At low to mid level, Silver tear damage penalty doesn't really matter since the arcane boost brings you right back to where you were for damage. There does come a point where it's not really worth it though.
At the point you get it if you know where to go you can get a +9 somber weapon without fighting anything or a +22 weapon after dealing with Astel, Renala and some Fallingstar Beasts. Therefore making the damage penalty a real deal. But for item farming or a blind playthrough it might be useful.
You should breakdown some of your builds that youd think weren't the best like a build dedicated to making one or two skills or spells your priority and some of your favorite talisman and armor set combimations and which effects stack together like charged spell skills and roars and breath and hiland axe ect.
An armor video would be nice. I was trying to compare them in a "Protection/Weight" fashion, but I know that's kinda futile and inaccurate. So I Just got the "most points to stay medium"+"looking good" But that does not satisfy my brain :D Your videos are great btw, love watching your analysis. "Half of them are really ugly" - Yeah that was my main gripe as well, I refuse to wear some ugly Stone Head for some more damage!
Duelist helmet might be the best traditional Tank helmet. Traditionaly in rpgs the tank draws aggro and withstands the big hits so his team can dish out extra dps. Definataly good for a tank playing with friends
Spellblade set, unfortunately, doesn't boost glintstone spells, it boosts weapon skills e. g. Lazuli Glintstone Sword which weapon skill is glintsone pebble.
ROFL. It absolutely makes a huge difference if you actually leverage DR tools. You can hit 80%+ DR. You also need to level your fuckin vigor. Too many have less than 40/60 at RL 75/125+
'been watching your shiznits since Elden Ring came out. I think I commented before about how your datamining is fantastic - but I'll do it again anyway. It's fantastic. Upvoted, liked, subbed, dabbed. +1
stuff like the black dumpling helm are good in duels when you know you are probably going to get hit with that status effect anyway, if im dueling and i see someone with varres mask i just put mine on to and put the talisman on and then their bleed is good for me too, plus i already have the 20% poison bonus from my talisman and it stacks multiplicative so i can end up with 58% bonus damage
imagine if every armour piece had stats with ups and downs, that be so cool. But i dont know how to feel about it either way because fashion...but then again its not mandatory i think, and most armour pieces dont have big advantages. My personal favorite is the black knife assasin armour piece, its amazing how many ambushes you counteract with it, just by wearing it. I honestly didnt know it had an effect for half the playtrough.
The silver tear mask will always make up for it's downside as long as you are below arcane softcap (50), for example, you are at level 42 and have a +10 rivers of blood, with around 350 AR, you'd go up to 500 damage with 8 extra arcane, and loose about 25-50 making it 450, so in the end you gained 100 damage and all the free arcane scaling to sorceries and such. Tho if you already have 50 arcane it will do preety much nothing
Yeah, but remember that, if you're running a bleed build, the White Mask is always better by a significant margin and can be acquired far earlier thanks to Varre's questline. It does get interesting on arcane caster builds with the Dragon Communion Seal, though.
Madness isn't bad. You only lose a bit of hp and fp.. use that one madness shabriri howl spell and get a massive damage boost and gives you madness which you can get another boost off of the dumpling.. I might make a madness build now because of this, you can basically break the game with how powerful you can make a madness build, so long as they aren't fire resistant
I didn't see the tree sentinel armor sets, was wondering if they have any passiveeffecta or if you would be able to do a video on the poise and immunities with it in
I can already visualize Limit breakers doing 2 videos called "How Much HP Regen can you have in Elden Ring?" and one called "How much HP can you heal at once in Elden Ring?" There are a lot of items and such that boost those
Silver tear mask is good and it reduces 5% not 10% and you get 8 arcane from it with good build that 5% damage reduction won't affect your whole dps my ROB can deal 4.6k using it weapon art without the bleed kick in and Marais Executioner's Sword can deal 5.2k with single weapon art
9:30 I disagree heavily bcoz honestly the pots are solid and do a good amount of damage for how little the investment are. Like for example I can hold 10 they do about 450-580 depending on resistances and what type I pick to use and if I choose to use sleeping pots or poison pots they have a whole different type of viability fire pots some of my most used items bcoz u get fire butterflies at literally every fire in game and can farm hundreds EASILY

Great video, would be great to have a video explaining best armor sets/combinations. Thanks again
Yes, a general armor video would be much appreciated, my good sir. Thank ye kindly!
Using the duelist helms to support in co-op, or support spirits that work well when not bothered (like the rot dog, or any primarily ranged summon)
The crucible armor also boosts the aow from the crucible sword and that spear from the tree sentinel
Youwy serving fashion police is my new favorite thing.
Dang I thought the Spellblade set boosted sorceries as well *facepalm*
Gotta say I'd love a Gandalf Grey and White set of armor
Oh yes I love this I’m too lazy too check which armor does what and usually just go for the most damage negation and my character ends up looking bulky
The Briar armour damage will also kill skeletons when you roll through them before the respawn after you've knocked them down the first time.
Every armor does that! U can hit them with a torch and kill then when they are respawning. U just need to hit them with something/anything.

This is what I needed. Thanks, Youwy!
Hey Youwy, love your comprehensive and in-depth guides for various weapons/talismans/armors. I wanted to know, mainly for PvE what is the minimum amount of Poise one should strive for. Or is it worth it to stack a lot of poise?
Great video my dude! I do hear a little bit of ticking in your audio track, Is possibly a noise gate or sound suppression interference
Spellblade all part of set increase dmg of ALL magic wa, like a moonvail, zamor ice sword, death poc, ice spear and many others
you can use the silver tear mask while farming items
This is a great channel. Especially love that you timestamp everything. Have a sub.
At low to mid level, Silver tear damage penalty doesn't really matter since the arcane boost brings you right back to where you were for damage. There does come a point where it's not really worth it though.
Good for farming items since Arcane increases discovery
At the point you get it if you know where to go you can get a +9 somber weapon without fighting anything or a +22 weapon after dealing with Astel, Renala and some Fallingstar Beasts. Therefore making the damage penalty a real deal.
But for item farming or a blind playthrough it might be useful.
So glad I stumbled on this!
You should breakdown some of your builds that youd think weren't the best like a build dedicated to making one or two skills or spells your priority and some of your favorite talisman and armor set combimations and which effects stack together like charged spell skills and roars and breath and hiland axe ect.
I use Silver Tear Mask for farming items, the boost in item discovery from +8 arcane is nice.
An armor video would be nice. I was trying to compare them in a "Protection/Weight" fashion, but I know that's kinda futile and inaccurate. So I Just got the "most points to stay medium"+"looking good" But that does not satisfy my brain :D
Your videos are great btw, love watching your analysis.
Black dumpling works with madness incantations. All madness incantations give you madness buildup as well
Great guide guy!
Spellblade set, unfortunately, doesn't boost glintstone spells, it boosts weapon skills e. g. Lazuli Glintstone Sword which weapon skill is glintsone pebble.
Can you do a vid about how armor barely makes a difference in terms of damage negation
stuff like the black dumpling helm are good in duels when you know you are probably going to get hit with that status effect anyway, if im dueling and i see someone with varres mask i just put mine on to and put the talisman on and then their bleed is good for me too, plus i already have the 20% poison bonus from my talisman and it stacks multiplicative so i can end up with 58% bonus damage
i would love to see a video on best armor stats for poise
That’s the veteran set, it has the best poise to weight ratio while also providing good physical protection
imagine if every armour piece had stats with ups and downs, that be so cool.
Think u missed the Bandit set; increased poison resistence from the mask and reduced sound from the pants
I thought Deathbed Dress didn’t effect the user, it says it in the description
Yeah, I think it only regens friends but not the wearer.
ive worn the royal remains helmet with malekiths armor for all of my ng+ runs and never noticed the health regen
An all-armor video would be awesome
great job man you do good work!
You forgot Aristocrat’s Shoes, increase package size.
I love armor effects, but I cant overcome the power of fashion souls. Making the most out of my talismans, seals, and physick it is for me then. 😔
Fashion > stats all day
I think the mask that makes you look like Blaidd raises your poise.
Definitely would wanna see an armor vid
Madness isn't bad. You only lose a bit of hp and fp.. use that one madness shabriri howl spell and get a massive damage boost and gives you madness which you can get another boost off of the dumpling.. I might make a madness build now because of this, you can basically break the game with how powerful you can make a madness build, so long as they aren't fire resistant
Tear mask is great for arcane builds (OCCULT weapons)
Spellblade set is even better than that. It seems to raise any ash that uses magic. Which includes moonblade etc.
Please make a video for the armor sets that give poise and weight I am tired of bullgoat rahdan set every playthrough
I didn't see the tree sentinel armor sets, was wondering if they have any passiveeffecta or if you would be able to do a video on the poise and immunities with it in
I think the silver tear mask reduces physical attack by 5% not overall damage AR.
The silver tear helm gives you more ar with an occult weapon than without it and a standard weapon
I can already visualize Limit breakers doing 2 videos called
"How Much HP Regen can you have in Elden Ring?" and one called "How much HP can you heal at once in Elden Ring?"
There are a lot of items and such that boost those
Duelist armor that's altered gains aggro like Shabiri's Woe too
The +8arcane -5% dmg mask is good for item farming
just wanna correct you on the deathbed dress. It doesn't regen your health, just your teammates or summons
You didn't mention the enemy agro range and intensity is increased while wearing fias deathbed dress
Thanks youwy
This is the most disjointed guide, but i appreciate the info.
The jar also increases your chance to become a legend
