    Dr. Nabil Ebraheim, in 9 minutes you have concisely and completely explained my spinal status perfectly. For the very first time and so clearly that most doctors should be able to understand. I thank you as I am going to provide a link to this to my GP and neurologist (in Aug., 2021). Blessings upon you.

    This video described everything way more clearly than the Neuro Surgeon I visited. The Dr. I saw just rushed through trying to explain what is wrong with my neck and how he would perform the surgery. He seemed so rushed, and acted like he had a million other patients to see and had only 5 minutes(or less) of time to speak with me.

    Hi Doctor! Thank you so much for your video! I have been diagnosed with a 6mm C3-C4 herniated disc pushing on my spinal cord and causing symptoms for over 2 years. I have tried a lot of different things but I think I will need surgery. I am waiting for an appointment to see a neurosurgeon but wait times in Canada are very very long. It may be a year until I see a doctor and another few months until surgery. I am not sure what else I can do but wait and hope I don't get worse. Maybe I should explore seeing a doctor in the USA?

I only wish all Neurological surgeons would be as educated as you, because they are assuming they know things when in reality they are many times doing surgeries when the problem is in a different area as your mentioned. Cervical issues can be causing lumbar like symptoms. I have had a few surgeries and I am serious when I say I wish you were my Doctor and able to diagnose and help me. I struggle with balance and pain and have issues in my cervical and Lumbar areas of my spine.

    Dr. Ebraheim. I had to have Anterior Cervical Disketomy and Fusion (ACDF) in the summer of 2017. I was -to put it mildly- quite concerned. Many of the neurological symptoms you discuss in this video were going on, and what the surgeon explained, though it made sense, was hard to visualize. This video is spot on explaining everything in a succinct manner. I very much wish i had had this resource available then. Thank you for putting this together.

    I am a 68 yr old male who was diagnosed 5 yrs ago with cervical myelopathy (confirmed by MRI).. The neurosurgeon explained the risks of operating, but Dr. Ebraheim fails to mention the greatest risk in this video. It was explained to me that because it is such a delicate operation, there is a 15-16% chance of quadriplegia associated with this procedure. I would have opted for this operation if it was a 15% chance of death, but the specter of life as a quadriplegic was just too frightening. I've opted to take my chances for as long as I have left.

    Dr. Ebraheim is a gift to humanity. I have seen 7 spine doctors in four different countries with the MRIs of my lumbar and cervical regions. Most of them had opined that the pain in my lower back was coming from the lumbar. After embarking on a lumber decompression surgery (Laminectomy), the pain was still there. In fact, it became worse. I was lucky to recently find a doctor that believes, like Dr Ebraheim, that the problem resides in the cervical region! This video has now given me more reason why I should proceed with a neck surgery. Thank you Dr. Ebraheim

      NO, you must get surgery its the only cure, once the nerves are decompressed your body and your nerves have an amazing ability to heal

    • @Raj-ul9my
      @Raj-ul9my 2 роки тому

      U need to understand what’s going on, conservative treatment is basically like taking pain killers for a tooth that’s infected and needs a root canal treatment. Your spinal cord is being pinched which if untreated for a long time can paralysis you. When your nerves are pinched the signals between nerve points starts to disfunction and that’s why u get pain, just the nerve is up pinched then you basically reversed that process. if you take strong painkillers for this or and injected to numb the nerve, what your doing is allowing the condition to deteriorate further with less pain until the pain killers were off. Conservative treatment. Is a failed treatment but they offer it first if normally they have a criteria of who should have surgery, normally it’s patients that have this issue for more then 6 months to a year. I’d I was an orthopaedic surgeon. If I find any pinching in the spinal cord I will straight away offer surgery

    Hi Nabil. I gone through your total VDO. I had also gone through the cervical surgery in March 18. My nerve was also pinched in C5-6-7 in MRI. In my case Legs got affected first hence walking got affected. Then @1 month later my right hand lost the hold/grip. In between these two incidents there was huge tingling which starts from neck & goes to fingures of both hand & legs. However later on right hand fingures lost hold. As of today my fingers gain the hold @80-90% but some times it gets cramped. But legs are still not recovered that much. Means tingling & numbness totally removed after surgery but legs still not. I can move, walk etc but not as natural. It's just like a video shown. While walking, working it gives pain & very irritating. One thing also cleared that the problem in legs is due to cervical Spondylitis. Since improvement in legs taking time & there is pain in lumber region while movement I thought there may be additional problem in lumber. Hence could you explain which medicine, treatment, yoga etc to be adopted to overcome this problem. Many thanks

      Thank you doctor for an excellent dissertation and explanation of these conditions. I have stenosis in C and lumbar spine. Neck myelopathy with weakness and tingling in both arms worse on the left. My gait is affected, my bladder is affected although the 6 surgeons i have seen indicated that no surgery for me. Maybe !!!!! In the C spine at C4 to C7 if the pain and stiffness become unbearble. Ive been to Mt. Sinai, NY Columbia Pres , and other surgeons for opinions for 2 years. Non surgical spinal decompression has helped a bit. One surgeon said that not only would surgery not help me but could make me Worse. I experience constant temporal pain , TMJ syndrome, tinnitus, a d also have facet joing arthritis. All of this including 25 degree dextroscoliosis from a 1 inch shorter right leg after a femur fracture at age 15. 52 years ago when the body cast was removed, the fractured right leg did not grow, but the left leg did. Nothing was recommended to my parents to pursue such as a shoe adjustment for life. Any advice and direction is appreciated. Ive tried acupuncture, any sessions of PT, CHIRO and just recentky the aforementioned spinal decompression.

      Range of motion (ROM) loss of 50%. So basically, if the patient could move one direction all the way when healthy, just think of it as half of that.

    I'm talking to Sonospine as we speak. It's a surgery that doesn't involve fusion. The technique should be more known to people. Why it's not baffles me. Hopefully I'm eligible for it cause I do not want to go they a fusion at all. Pray for me people and look into this. Maybe it will help you out.

    • @citizencain2383
      @citizencain2383 3 роки тому +1

      @@AdventuresInLiving The method is similar to this. Sonospine has a even smaller tool that does the same thing. My operation was minimally evasive, he went thru the back of my neck and within 2 hours I was back at my hotel. Next day eating food and walking around with my wife. I'm very happy I didn't get a fusion. I would do it all over again if had to. Can't say if I will ever need another operation but I will try to do the things necessary to stay healthy this time around.

      Hi Anirudh! Hence could you explain which medicine, treatment, yoga etc adopted by you as informed to overcome this problem. Many thanks
