I've been diagnosed with cervical myelopathy. c3-c4. my symptoms was my hands become weaker, the whole spine was in pain, its getting worse day by day. went through Acdf operation on 19.4.2024,.now I'm getting better. 😊
I have no arm pain just tender c7 in the middle, it’s symmetrical both side feel the same. I think it’s actually a muscle problem. Glad I watched this because I can’t have either of these.
I was diagnosed with moderate myelopathy 5 months ago. Upper body seems unaffected ,but feels like I'm on a trampoline when I walk and trying to run is very awkward.
I fell down and started having muscle stiffness in right trap muscle and numbness in last two fingers of right hand for first 2 months i didnt went to hospital i thought it would go away later on pain started to increase more and i visited one doctor he said that i was suffering from trapezius tendonitis and it would go away from 3rd month i started having twitchings all over body but they are not painful they would just come and go and pain wasnt going away so after 6 months from falling down i visited many doctors they all would say it is just muscle stiffness nothing serious with it and it would go away but 1 doctor suggested to go for MRI for cervical spine so i went and i found that i have mild disc bulge in c3-c4 segment, loss of cervical lordosis and multilevel partial disc changes so pain from right hand has spread to left hand as well and i even went to massages for pain relief for almost 5-6 sittings , no other symptoms are there and my vitamin D level, vitamin b12 levels are good and i even went for thyroid blood test it is also good as of now pain almost seems to be gone in both hands but few times my last two fingers go numb after waking up from sleep in both hands and muscle twitchings are still there and they are coming all over body. Can anyone please suggest what should i do now..?
Please clarify why Hyporeflexia and hypotonia are associated with LMNL and hyperreflexia and hypertonia are associated with UMNL .. kindly describe the mechanism... Huge confusion 😕
hypo reflexia is a confirmation of LMNL because it is peripheral nerve being trapped and reducing signal to the muscle .. hyper reflexia is UMNL and is associated with CNS loss of conduction - i.e your long tracts - corticospinal and your peripheral nerves are unaffected therefor allowing reflex conduction to be maintained , however through CNS interference natural inhibition of reflex is lost thus making it hyper reflexive
Case study: M, 75 y, non-diabetic complains of left middle & ring fingers severe pain at night before to sleep and patient needs to hold them with force and after an hour it reduces and allows to sleep. Please suggest your opinion
drs cant just suggest buddy = tests need to be done along with comprehensive history taking to even begin to start to rule things in and out and have differentials
I like the way you explain but what do you mean on one side? Both my hands are numb... on and off I also have dizziness that makes me vomit. I got told it was likely to this by the spinal surgeon . Ive been left a year. I honestly think hes forgot but all the time my cells are dying. By forgot i mean he has sent me to neurology for dizziness upon an email reminder to him a yr later and in his referral he never even mentioned this. He gave me an injection of steroids into my neck saying it was diagnostic in preperation for surgery. I never got surgery and his letter says Ive done all i can do. I sway like on a ship and i drop things constantly. He said my bones formed wrong as a teen no one else has stated this as a cause. Im NHS in private hospital. I think he just doesnt want to operate for free after all. I saw the MRI you didnt need to be a radiologist. You could see it. Cord was fat everywhere else and thin there. What do you make of this?
I have L5 S1 Disc Herniation and Tailbone Pain since 10 years I am not able to sit properly or stand for long hours. Hence I cannot work and become unemployed. But Doctors do not suggest Spine Surgery for Correcting Spine disorder and Suggest Physiotheraphy and excercises for Treatment in India. I am Frustated Don't know what to do. Voluntary Euthanasia is not available in India Too. I am stuck. Do these Test for Spine Disorder actually work? Then why my Spine Disability is considered minor and Surgery is not done to rectify it?

I have both. So far, injection has been helping my cervical issue.
What type of injection?

How is this being treated?
Since I'm still working, it's being monitored. Surgeon advised to notify if symptoms worsen. May have corrective surgery soon.
