Absolutely lucid, logical, and simple instruction on falling forward into the swing to move the low point in front of the ball. I look forward to trying this on the driving range soon. Many thanks.

Great video. I was struggling today topping the ball in my practice on my 6i and 5i. Remembered this video and started hitting better. Thanks

Excellent video, this was one of the first things my coach started working on, and one of the main swing thoughts I always have to fall back to. The amount of power we can generate by this simple move is far beyond anything our arms can produce. The one common thing every pro does, despite the 100s of different swings out there, is HIT the Ball first, then turf. Great video!

Excellent trigger using the “fall towards the target”. How would you approach the driver since the hit is on the up and you want low point behind the ball?

Watching you demonstrate the move is a great way to imprint the move into memory. The description a verbal idea what we should feel during the evolution of the swing. Since half of what we do is as much feel as technique, your videos are very helpful. Your tips on vision at address, and how to compress the ball at impact are brilliant. Best of all transition from range to course is getting easier and easier. Thank you!

Just subbed recently and I'm really impressed with the clear advice and analysis to back things up, which is missing from some other golf instructional channels. Cheers.

Ali I find your content useful and enjoyable. With the videos showing your weight distribution can you flip the image so that the right foot is on the right and left on the left. It would make it easier to appreciate what is going on.

Great explanation for how to make the move that goes to the heart of ball striking for ball turf contact- low point in front of ball. Start moving weight/pressure onto lead foot as you near top of back swing by falling into the strike from there. At impact 100% of pressure will have been on lead foot as a result of lateral move of hips downwards towards the target.

Hi Ali, great content and tip , took it to the range today and it worked MEGA . your explanation was clear and easy to carry out , only concern some of the moves became a side sway instead of fall and pivot , any tips on this much appreciated . Only found you youtube content yesterday but love it , well explained and easy to follow and action . MEGA

Really good, clear instruction, Ali. Just returned from a frustrating driving range session, where I just wasn’t compressing the ball. I was delighted to be able to watch this so soon after. Will give this a try and see what happens. 😎

As someone who uses the Jimmy Ballard connection swing (really loading up on the right side) and just had a lousy ball striking round of sculls off the ground (unless it was a downhill lie), I am going try some version of pause at the top, and fall into the downswing this weekend.
Update-- looks promising so far., after two rounds this weekend-- shots seemed to have more "oomph"/compression. I even flushed a few shots over the green (which didn't help my score), and even my fat shots seemed to travel farther.

Your fall in to the ball idea is brilliant, thank you Ali. I tried it at the range today. My only problem with it is that I have lost a bit of distance with with steep irons, 9 Iron, Sand Wedge , Pitching Wedge. I can feel the grooves almost like the ball is staying on the club longer, and that's with range balls. Not bad control for a 25 handicapper. But it does work and it's brilliant, even with my 7 Iron. I am trying not to have a 5 Iron in the bag and use Hybrids. So I won't know about my 5 Iron till my full bag fitting tomorrow. Thanks for this.

@DeusVult1683 5&6 are my longest irons. It isn't a ball position issue. I have tried all stuff like from my on club pros advice about ball position, and an excellent ball position video for each of the club's done by Matt Fryer. Thank you anyway.

    • @christinegoulden7940
      @christinegoulden7940 2 роки тому

@DeusVult1683 Thank you. As it stands at the moment. For my 5&6 iron, I have the 5 Iron ball position 2 inches in front of center which is the same position as my 4 Hybrid and my 3 wood off of the deck. I have my 9 Iron PW and SW ball position in the center for a chip on the green with weight on the front foot. I am 1 inch behind center if I want distance from them. I have been known to get underneath my shots a bit. I don't know if it's because I am a bit wristy. Thank you

@DeusVult1683 Brilliant, thank you. I will give that a go. I used to play everything from center, but never change my stance, till I was taught to open it. I watch to many videos. There are a few PGA pros that change the ball position for each club, and it is confusing. Thank you

Great tip. I've had a go at it with some success but just to clarify, which part of the left foot takes the initial extra pressure as you fall left. Is it the ball, middle or heel of your left foot?

    • @AliTaylorGolf
      @AliTaylorGolf  2 роки тому +1

Depends a little on the shape of shot, but more mid then towards heel

I am working my tail off for this to become my norm. I got fairly decent striking the ball off my back foot last year. It was very inconsistent of course. This year I have noticed that on absolutely money hits off my lead foot, my right foot's heal is pointing up and my chest is pointed at the flag.

Great tip. When I “fall” forward, there is a tendency for the head to move forward. Doesn’t it need to stay behind the ball all the way ?

Can I ask what your looking at on the downswing? Is it the ball or 5 inches beyond?

    • @philfoggs5357

Ali has a video on where to focus your eyes. " Don't look at the ball ever" , is the title if I recollect. He explains where to look and why. I've watched it several times. Changing your vision takes getting used to but it works. As usual he walks you through it all and it dovetails with this video nicely.

I Loved the video. Graphics on bottom are really disorienting. They need to be flipped 180 degree to match it feet behind them and I need to know what that little white dot is sensing. Putting it all together and I hope to be working on that swing tomorrow morning.

To reach a higher potential swing speed the "fall" or the shift loads the shaft- see Dr. Kwan. Think of throwing a base ball, you wouldn't start on your lead foot and keep the weight there the whole time.

I have a problem with my head dipping at the end of the backswing as I transition to the downswing. I then have to lift back up before impact o avoid a fat shot. So "falling" is something that I fear may not help with that

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles and madness in this world today, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be
destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
. The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
    - (AMPLIFIED version)
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
    Xxxx

Super explanation! This is exactly what I've been struggling with. I never realized what "staying back" really meant till now....your presentation made this as clear as clear can be!! Gotta get the weight shifted and those hips turned!! Going to the driving range now 👍👍🏌‍♂
