Home free sings this was such a reverence!! Their harmonies are incredible!! Mark Lowery who wrote the lyrics was with the Gaither vocal band for years!! You need to listen to the Gaithers sing this! Mark sings lead tenor! Asked up by David Phelps and guy Penrod!! As Mark sings this you can see his faith and believe in every word he wrote! Nice reaction
I love their version of this hymn - the singing, harmonies, beatboxing are simply perfect. I think having the first verse bass (Tim) and the final question "Mary did you know" adds an entirely different, somber tone to the song.
Thank you, Barry! I’ve missed seeing your reactions. Here in North Carolina, we are quickly leaving spring and heading into my least favorite season so I sort of feel jealous that you have snow.
Barry, the guys have announced dates for their European tour this fall! If you can get over to England, they will be performing in 3 different towns. Tickets arec in high demand. I hope you get to see them, they are amazing live.
Thank you Barry, you are always entertaining sir !!! I love both versions too. In Home Free's version I love that they have a bluesy-country vibe. Chance did the bass throughout the song and I think he did an amazing job, even though we never hear him sing lead, but he was always there and carrying the song with a strong bass instead of Tim this time. Barry please keep reacting to Home Free...but a little more frequently
What I so appreciate about the way YOU do your reviews is that you play it thru first WITHOUT commenting. Don’t mess with the music. Your voice doesn’t override the music. 34.- It had already been more than two hours when he returned. I was busy, holding the 13 babies in my arms, soothing them, in their shed. He poked his head in but he didn't say anything and I didn't ask. Soon he was at my side, with three rubber surgical gloves, a bunch of small rubber bands, a bottle of powdered cat milk, and a jug of boiled water. Yes, and with the usual clothes. When I remember now the assembly of all that seems surreal. I would say that it seems to me impossible that we were able to do what we did. To put the situation in context, it is necessary to say that we were in a rural area, without much awareness about the welfare of companion animals, because the concept of "companion animal" was not ingrained; the animals were animals, except in the case of sheep, cows or the like, which helped the family economy. Therefore, getting bottles for newborn kittens was like waiting for pigs to fly, or frogs to have hair. There were kittens everywhere, no one would miss a litter if the mother abandoned them. “He must have gone for a reason!” my grandmother used to say. Well, him and me, yes. We would miss them. So he had gone to visit vets to find what was necessary. He got the "impossible": milk formulated for kittens (he told me it was a sample bottle that some sales agent had left with the vet, not convinced that he would ever sell any); but he had to imagine the "miracle": how to get the best imitation of a lactating cat so that the kittens would want to eat.
I went back to refresh myself on the details of the situation. The kittens are 5 days old with a bed of wool from the sheep. Your grandmother is upset at the efforts they are taking and your grandfather left in his “town clothes”. Yep, got it. We have gotten several batches of one day old chicks 🐥 and I have the picture of my children sitting down amongst them holding them and taking care of them. This is the picture I get when I think of you there by yourself with those kittens.
Listening again. Every time I hear you say "Sneachta" (or in Southern, "Snocta", i want to holler out, "Snocta Blue!" Where does that come from? Someone has to know??? Scooby Doo? "Snocta blue!" Okay, finishing this and getting my mind off of that word. It's somewhere lost in my brain at the moment. It'll come to me.
Hi Barry! Love your reactions. Both Home Free and Pentatonix did a wonderful job on this song. As you said it's like listening to two different songs almost. Vocative also does the song, only in their version Mark Lowry is the lead singer. He is the original writer of the song and they accompany him. It's also wonderful as well. They have many more voices in this version. Have a great day!
Yes, please, please, please, also react to Mary did you know by Voctave with Mark Lowry, it's beautiful to hear the man who wrote the song sing it with a heart full of faith and love. That said, I absolutely love both Pentatonix's and Home Free's versions, and I also enjoyed your reaction to both. ❤
This is my fave Christmas song. Home Free did a fantastic job. I've known about this song for years. I have the original done by The Gaither vocal band.
Love this. Such a great arrangement. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. I think that was him doing the very deep bass drum after the big "I am". Gorgeous.
Always love your reactions! Their version of this lovely song gives me chills every time I listen to it. Love it! They have some wonderful Christmas songs-some of them very funny. O Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear-for comical-What Christmas Means To Me-check out the Christmas ones-well worth it!

Yes, Tim gets the credit. You can hear more of his gorgeous voice in "In the Blood" (and many many others, but I love his singing in this one in particular). And put their version of "O Holy Night" on your Christmas list, if you want to wait that long!
Barry ☘️! I enjoyed this one today. It’s always fun to have a new reaction from you. I loved the Bassy Boy in this one. Very nice!! Warm. It was not overdone, perfect in fact. Kept your attention and left you wanting more. The Beatboxing Boys did a great job as well. There were some unique sounds from the Adamses. 😊 The sound that Adam Rupp (had to look his name up) made that sounded to me like the drum stick hitting the drum rim was really cool. That one seems like it would be hard to have multiple multiple takes on. What do I know though, as I am neither a drummer nor a beat boxer. 😁 Good to see you again! Thanks!! 🍄 Oh and yes. I have collected a few more words and sayings for the Barglish dictionary. Now I have snacta -snow. ❄️ I have other ones also. I’ll be adding that soon. On the spelling is wrong. We have established that. 😜
Awesome reaction Barry! Have you reacted to Austin Brown’s version of Danny Boy yet? I think you would really enjoy it, it’s beautiful! I looked through your videos and I didn’t see it. Thank you!
Coming over from the community page. HF did a nice job performing this song, but to me, the entire song felt mechanical in comparison to PTX's version. 4:00 - 4:28 did not have the intensity and urgency as PTX's. I really liked 6:01 - 6:04 when the camera panned up to the star. That was a nice ending.
Thank you for reacting to this. I love this. It’s one of my favorites of theirs. I love the simple setting of the manger and dark blue sky. The beatboxing is amazing and love those low notes. Tim was perfect for the lead and Austin and Rob were great. I just love the way they harmonize. It’s so hauntingly beautiful. Thank you. So well said Barry!😍
Scurrying over here from PTX, Via your Community page. Time Stamp 2:47. I love (oops like) Tim Foust bassy voice. So from the beginning, not as powerful as PTX, but beautiful song.
Hello Dear Barry🍀Great song, beautiful even and great reaction, with your beautiful look that says a lot...... Do you know that apart from Tim Foust I don't remember any HF names??? that's crazy ! 🤪 I don't print! PTX, VoicePlay I know them all but HF pfff will understand! lol I did not really understand if it really snows at your place ?????? in May??🤣
Hi Barry - thanks for doing this song. This is my favorite version of this song! Another good American hymn that gets too little attention is My Country 'Tis of Thee. It is a very familiar tune to you guys & gals across the pond - it's sung to your "God Save the King". But the words are 100% American! Take care, and enjoy your summer.
I am 1000% a Home Free fan since I stumbled upon them in February 2016. I appreciate and enjoy their version of Mary Did You Know, BUT no one person, no group can sing this song the way the writer, Mark Lowry can sing this song. I believe someone else commented that you should listen to Mark sing this while he was with the Gaither Vocal Band. Absolutely nothing else compares…..my opinion. 👍🏼😁
Now try Mark Lowry with Voctave, it may at least match or even exceed these other two. It is a somewhat simpler version, but hugely dynamic still! It is my favorite, even over the Gaither Vocal Band version. Can't beat when the writer sings his own and is an exceptional singer in his own right!
Wondering how this gift is late (lol), but much appreciated, Barry! It threw me off when you said it was almost Christmas there, but the video just released here today. Love how you said that we shouldn’t compare the two videos. PTX and Home Free are like apples and oranges. Both are fruit, but are so different and equally great! Home Free’s version is their own and they did a fabulous one! I always love your reactions! I could see you were really enjoying it and listening intently to every little nuance. These guys know how to get us in the feels. I got goosebumps both times they got to the bridge! Love it!

Good to see you again! Thanks!! 🍄
Oh and yes. I have collected a few more words and sayings for the Barglish dictionary. Now I have snacta -snow. ❄️
I have other ones also. I’ll be adding that soon. On the spelling is wrong. We have established that. 😜
Snow ? Isn’t it spring in Ireland as well ? 🥶🤣
They did such a heavenly job of this….pure & grabs your soul 🙏🌟‼️❤️
Awesome reaction Barry! Have you reacted to Austin Brown’s version of Danny Boy yet? I think you would really enjoy it, it’s beautiful! I looked through your videos and I didn’t see it. Thank you!
Hi Barry, I'm veryHappy can see you again, beautiful Irish man 💗
I love Home Free and their version of this song. I would also recommend Clay Aiken's cover.
One of my favorites! @ Barry- do you believe the words? I love how they meld and join together and simply warm!
You are My FAVORITE
Coming over from the community page.
HF did a nice job performing this song, but to me, the entire song felt mechanical in comparison to PTX's version. 4:00 - 4:28 did not have the intensity and urgency as PTX's.
I really liked 6:01 - 6:04 when the camera panned up to the star. That was a nice ending.
Loved your reaction!!
Merry Christmas Pat!
@@ItsmeBarry And a Merry Christmas right back at ya, you unusually gorgeous man.🤪
Hello Dear Barry🍀Great song, beautiful even and great reaction, with your beautiful look that says a lot...... Do you know that apart from Tim Foust I don't remember any HF names??? that's crazy ! 🤪 I don't print! PTX, VoicePlay I know them all but HF pfff will understand! lol I did not really understand if it really snows at your place ?????? in May??🤣
Aw, Eveline, you must remember my Teddy Bear Rob Lundquist. As B☘ would say "I insist"!
@@patwood7011 Noted ! but yes I remember now!! the bear Teddy Rob😉😂...it was you 😁
@@eveline5858 Yes, love that man's voice along with the beard.🤪
Hi Barry - thanks for doing this song. This is my favorite version of this song! Another good American hymn that gets too little attention is My Country 'Tis of Thee. It is a very familiar tune to you guys & gals across the pond - it's sung to your "God Save the King". But the words are 100% American! Take care, and enjoy your summer.
Great reaction Barry! Both versions are amazing. It almost sounds like they’re singing to you “Barry did you know”. Just kidding!
I always cry😢
Beautiful❤❤❤❤
I am 1000% a Home Free fan since I stumbled upon them in February 2016. I appreciate and enjoy their version of Mary Did You Know, BUT no one person, no group can sing this song the way the writer, Mark Lowry can sing this song. I believe someone else commented that you should listen to Mark sing this while he was with the Gaither Vocal Band. Absolutely nothing else compares…..my opinion. 👍🏼😁
barry you have missed two of their greatest renditions, How great thou art and O holy night
Спасибо большое за вашу работу 👍
I love home free But my favorite version is done by Mark Lowry...the man who wrote the song.
Love your reaction! Such a beautiful rendition!🥰
Love this version by Home Free net you need to check out Voctive's version. They have the author of the song Mark Lowery (not sure of the spelling)
I'm a full blown Home Fry, but I do have to note that Pentatonix did a very good arrangement of this song too.
Love it!
You must listen to Mark Lowery. He is the person who wrote it.❤️❤️
Merci Barry !
Bonjour Eveline 👋 THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️ for the lovely 🎉Super Thanks🎉 This reaction took a while to post but it’s a lovely song at anytime of the year. Thanks for always being here with me to enjoy the best music. Merci encore Eveline ❤️
