#HomeFree
I've spent years as a Pentatnoix fan before discovering Home Free. Both groups are stunning, but wow... this is probably some of the best a Capella music I've ever heard
Word of advice, check out Voiceplay; you will not be disappointed
Ikr
@@emmaporterukulele Yeah I just got into them recently too. There's a lot of talented groups out there
*Pentatonix*
Same, used to be pentatonix fan like 2 years ago loving avis deep voice. That made me look for some other bass singers and I became home free fan. Later I found voiceplay and now I am in love with voiceplay. I like them both tho, home free and voiceplay
I am in my 70's and you are the best group I have ever heard. Last year my Christmas gift to family was to see your concert in Mankato, Minnesota. We all loved it and it was the last concert my husband attended before his death a month and a half later. You gave me joyful memories of that special night. God bless you!
Hello how are you doing today 😊 hope you don't mind me asking you that ☺️
it's been 5 years... and Tim's bass drop still gives chills
I agree with you fully, it's so amazing though
I know, right?? 😍🥰
Agreed. 🔥🥵
I'm 2 days young, listening to Home Free. Only stopping to sleep, (have insomnia, btw). So pretty much on reel. N E way, Same.........
RIGHT!?
What makes Home Free different and better than any other a cappella group is the versatility of the guys in the group. Each person is multitalented. When one person is doing a specific job…there is always another member who can step in and take a position that is needed. If Tim is singing lead…Chance will step in and do bass. A lot of guys can do specific beatboxing…not up to Adam’s standards, but very adequate and respectable. All can sing beautifully, most can take lead, etc. Not many bands, not just acapella, can state that. They are simply put…amazing!!!
And I hope they are around and singing for many, many years in the future. Wishing the very best for the very best!
Plus they aren't stiff singers. They let loose, have fun, and know how to have a good time while singing. (Like they don't act super professional like another specific a Cappella group...)
I hope they always stay together as a group. They are branching out individually, which is fine, but I actually prefer them as a group. Their blend of talent and harmonies are impeccable!! Love these guys!!!
@@whiskerbiscuits22 They don’t have to “ACT super professional” because they just ARE super professional!!! I absolutely love our #HomeFreeGuys. They just never cease to amaze me with their talents! #HomeFryForLife
Because they sing with God's grace.
Duuuuude. I listened to this with head phones the first time and I thought I was going to go insane!!!!!!!!
The beatboxing is absolutely miraculous!!??
Hello lil how are you doing today merry Christmas
Hello Lil how are you doing
That insane bass just blew out my car speakers. Totally worth it.
Yes, Tim's low drop is amazing, but as a singer myself, the most amazing part is the journey down to that drop. He starts up top, and beautifully descends to the drop like a leaf drifting from the top of the tree to the ground. *STUNNING*
Surprised Tim’s bass didn’t take down the ice sculptures.
I'm quite sure there are hair line cracks everywhere after their practices
I said the same thing. lol.
Sexy bass there!
Had same thought!
I think Tim's bass has to be connected to woofers to be weaponized. I'm guessing the director was aware of that and took appropriate precautions.
How is it that so many people not in awe of acapella singers.... songs are only made better when covered by good acapella groups!!!
HopeforAllKind
I agree. Our daughter was in the highest ranked swing choir in high school. They sang only acapella.
Well todays music is truly terrible. To me its just a cacophony of noise and no imagination. Listen to the older, 30 years or so older music and see what I mean. This is beautiful in its own right. God has blessed these entertainers and through them to all of us as well.
I AM IN AWE i LOVE THEM
What an awesome group! I could listen to them sing all day!!!!
HopeforAllKind For sure!
I've heard many acapella groups, but Home Free takes the cake. Thank you, Home Free, and God bless y'all!
U should check out pentatonix
Uhm I can't believe how smoothly Tim just slid down that run @2:26 ... Like he was skating on ice. Gave me chills.
I've spent hours over the last year trying to find a copy of Adam Rupp's original introduction to this song which got thoughtlessly deleted to be replaced by the standard tour date boilerplate. Thanks to reactor Maggie Renee scrolling through the description during a reaction I managed to get a screenshot and recovered the introduction:
On the surface, this arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" sparks the imagination with different musical themes, and brings life to several different scenes or imagery about the birth of Christ. However, a deeper understanding of the song reveals a call for peace in a chaotic violent world under the simple truth preached by Christ: love. Originally written during the Cuban missile crisis, a parallel can be drawn to any time when the world needs a reminder to love not hate. The theme of competing voices is echoed in the execution of the 4 different vocal parts that come to clarity at the 4th verse and unify with the same message in 5 octaves: "Listen to what I say. Pray for peace, people everywhere."
- Adam Rupp
Thank you Lynette
Thank you for this - it's a shame that this information is no longer in the video description!
Thank you 💜
Thank you, Lynette! This beautiful discription needs to be there for people to see!
@@sallymaria I almost had a heart attack watching the reaction and realizing the thing I'd looked for for so long was right there. I'm giddy at finding it.
does anyone else notice little nuances when seeing the songs sung vs only hearing the song??? there are tons in here i didn't notice last year. Superb job...more impressed than i was before.
I just noticed a thousand people did not even like this song??? How is that even possible? I think it is a masterpiece.!!!
They don’t believe❗️👩🏻🦳💙
Some people have absolutely no taste... That is your answer.
Trolls. Always trolls.
Aussies... upside down likes. Has to be.
They are tone-deaf
How am I just discovering you guysssssss? I didn’t sleep last night. I had to listen to everything you have done. 😭😭. I couldn’t stop. The harmonies. The arrangements. The fun videos. Top notch.
You should check out home free gets derailed twice, or something close to that…. It shows just how much fun they tease each other
Chek out "Im a man of constant sorrow" they do it great. First song i ever heard them do. Then i wus hooked.
Do not feel bad.. I missed out and just recently learned about them in my music class. Now I am hooked and listen to everything thy sing lol. Enjoy.. Try How Great thou Art as well.....
If you ever have the chance to see them live, do it. They sound just as good if not better live
@@davidpatterson6589 Respectfully gotta disagree, they sound great live but it can't match the produced sound, where they can do take after take to get the perfect one. That isn't to say you shouldn't see them live, they are absolutely phenomenal live and I highly recommend it, it just is a different sound and energy.
I never log in. I never make comments. But I had to for this even though I know it is years old.
This arrangement is nothing short of stunning! The interplay of the harmonies is masterful, using the range and talents of each member to its best. Many of the moves were surprising but never felt gratuitous or flashy. It was fun and uplifting and just plain joyous.
And then there is the entire rhythm section.... just wow. WOW WOW!
Adam Rupp please do not stop doing what you are doing.
To all the rest of Home Free, you get love, too, you know you do.
Can't wait til we can have live performances again.
Be safe and stay healthy!
Yall are amazing. the guy beatboxing sound more like real instruments than anyone else i have ever heard.
You have to see him do a solo in concert and then you are sure you have witnessed a miracle....
The guy that's is beat boxing is Adam rupp
Need to go watch Pentatonix's Kevin Olusola and his one man production of Down, not mention any other ptx performances
Ever heard of Inside Out? They're A Capella as well. And they're just as good as Pentatonix. I've also known them for a LOT longer. Probably because one of them is my second cousin.

How awesome🙆♀️❣
My husband and I listened to, and watched, everything you have produced. He recently passed away due to brain cancer. Your music was something we shared and loved together. Thank you for the memories I will always have with him. He would have LOVED this one. Hopefully he can hear it where he is now.
A gift for you...
In the Next Room
Death is nothing at all:
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone:
Wear no forced air or solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the
little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
Just around the corner. All is well.
-Canon Henry Scott Holland
+Jennifer Talbot thank you. that made my heart smile.
+Jamie Valvoda It's my favorite poem that reminds me that my loved ones are not truly far away from me and that death is nothing because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ defeated death so that we too can live again and families can be together forever. It won't bring back your husband but I hoped it gave you some comfort. 💖

Gotta love how Tim stands there after the E1, the calm look of, "Yes. Yes I did just do that."
Haha yup!
Is it strange that I'll listen to Christmas music any time of year? Why would we relegate such wonderful music to only 1 to 2 months of the year? It is great music that brings joy to the heart. I enjoy it all of the time. And no, it does not lessen the joy it brings me.
@TheLawDemon I loved the song just that E1 tho god that's higher than me

@@JaimeDornanLady hello Jaime how are you doing
Gives Pentatonix a run for their money.
Absolutely beautiful.
They blow Pentatonix out of the water in my opinion.
My wife discovered Home Free and was immediately obsessed. Three weeks later, we were at your Christmas Concert at the Rialto in Joliet, IL. Great fun, excellent music, amazing lightshow and theater. The only problem is that my wife now has too many back-up husbands: Redzone's Scott Hanson, Deer Meat for Dinner's Robert Arrington, and now all of y'all. Thank goodness I'm a pretty decent baritone, or I might be on the curb! Sing on, guys!
Home Free is by far my favorite Accapella group. They have such amazing no phenomenal voices. Love listening to them.
Hello Lisa boudnik, how are you doing today??
By far the best version of this song, no questions asked
Hats off to you, especially Adam for arranging this masterpiece

But I can understand that sometimes others don't like the same things that I do. What I can't understand is KNOWING that you don't like something but still listening to it and then complaining about it.

Hello Maehorie Frederick's, how are you doing today??
2:18-2:34 That bass line...
Adam, your arrangement was wonderful!! All you guys did very well at your position in this song!
This is my first experience with this group, and you blew me away. Vocally perfect blend and harmony... yes, I love the bass and tenor, but I think what won me over was the crazy-eyed drummer who also happens to be a masterful arranger. This is gold.
Listening to HF never gets old. I just love these guys.

so funny xdxd nice
This arrangement and composition is so sophisticated .... words cannot do it justice.
If only I could give 1000 more thumbs... this is such a gorgeous arrangement. I didn't have much appreciation for this song as a kid, It's amazing how hearing a beautiful arrangement of a song can change your mind and make you feel
It's also a truly powerful song
Always a, "Yea, it's okay," Christmas song for me. Until, that is, I heard this arrangement / performance. Now I'll listen to it in July....
Hello Marvel Fanatic, how are you doing??
It's Christmas. Time to play this over and over again. Turn the volume up in the car and make it vibrate, thanks to Tim.
There is no other to listen to them
Doing that right now. My whole car is shaking from his bass!!
Home Free has been my favorite since they won the tv competition a few years ago...many of my friends dont believe they are acapella because of the incredible drum and other sounds...then the harmony haunts my memory for days.

A week ago I bet my husband that the views on this video would reach 7 million before Christmas Day. Looks like I'm going to win. I shared the video on every social media platform I have. Everyone should enjoy this masterpiece at least once...or twice...or a million times.

This song by theses guys NEVER gets old! Still!
your bass singer has an amazing range!
Beautiful scenery. Beautiful voices about our amazing Lord . Merry Christmas to all early this year!.
As a trained vocalist I am continually astonished by the ingenuity that Home Free produces. The arrangements and the array of vocal talent in this group is truly breathtaking. These guys are almost unbelievable. The bass has ridiculous range. And when he hits those low notes, you FEEL it. Austin’s voice is so pure. I could go on and on. It doesn’t even feel like a cappella. Just wow.
Bravo Adam Rupp! Still the most beautiful, awe inspiring arrangement of this song!
One of my favorite performances of these talented men. The arrangement is so full and complex, location is gorgeous, and Adam slammed it out of the park with all of the magic that comes out of his mouth :)
Thanks so much!
Adam Rupp should be SO proud of this arrangement. It is one of the finest versions of this song that I have ever heard.

Love how they did this song really amazing work!!!!
I have listened to this song nearly every day for about 4 months now and still get chills every time I hear it! Adam's arrangement is stellar, the layering of every voice phenomenal, Tim's growl notes make me shiver with happiness (especially the run at 2:26), Austin's floating in over the top of everything is angelic (2:07 etc), Rob's voice is so smooth (1:40 etc) and Chris's versatility from bass notes up (whole song) is incredible. Adam, the beatboxing in this one takes the cake... I hear everything you did (especially 3:35) and love it! You guys are the best and need to come to Australia
Hello Anita Harvey, how are you doing??
I love these now at Christmas time when they sing it makes my heart sing and tears come to my eyes, great work guys.😊
They sing wonderful Christmas songs, however, this is not one of them. It was written about the Cuban missle crisis and the possibility of nuclear war.
This was my first experience of Home Free. Truly has been a glorious ride ❤
Hello how are you doing today 😊 hope you don't mind me asking you that ☺️
I am wonderful, thank you for asking! Hope all is well! Have a Merry Christmas🎄
How are people even disliking this beautiful magic?!!!
The bass line!!! OMG !!! This is the best acapella arrangement and rendition of this song. Can't get enough of the bass line. Playing on a loop!!
And if you look to your left at 2:29, you'll notice Tim Faust demonstrating how absurdly heavy "gold" is.
Thats just a weird thing most bass singers do, no idea what it means. *THAT E1 THO*
@@4sston As Mikael stated, it's a thing we do to mentally "follow" a bass line in the moment. While a normal walking bass is fairly simplistic, large jumps or unique sequences take some focus and this movement helps. It has the added benefit of having "something to do" with our hands... the bane of many young acapella groups is figuring out what to do with their hands as they sing!
@@mikaelhelmdorf7737 all elusive closure

This is my absolute favorite Christmas song Home Free have done. Adam did an amazing job arranging it and he's killing it all the way.

With every member, being crucial to the sound, the music, the emotion, and the kaleidoscope of color, I am pleased and excited to see all members of this remarkable a cappella group, featured with their unique sounds, which make up the composition of this great tapestry of music.
Just 590 dislikes, yesterday this hit 4 million views, and today it has nearly another 10,000 views, these 5 guys are amazing and I want more of them every day. What ever they do is awesome. I am a very proud Home Fry and tell everyone I know about their amazing voices.
*Home Free

Have tickets thanks to a B-Day present from my wonderful daughter for June 4th! Can hardly wait! Love them so much!
I dont know why but even though other a cappella groups do some groundbreaking bass drops or super high notes, home free is still more enjoyable to listen and can binge stream their songs for a much much longer time.
Love this song. You all sing it so beautiful. Thank you all ❤️
