- I know I have been diving into so many different rabbit holes recently but I've decided that I also want to come back to the roots of this channel and continue to post some of the best Thrash Metal reaction around. After hearing Tool - Pneuma LIVE yesterday, I realised I hadn't listen to any live Megadeth yet... You guys know I much prefer to hear the studio versions of new songs so I decided to go with a song we have already heard. Symphony Of Destruction. One of my favourite opening guitar riffs of all time. Although I had heard this song before, hearing it live for the first time made me feel like It was brand new to me all over again.
Here is my reaction to hearing Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction LIVE in Argentina for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

They sing "Megadeth, Megadeth, aguante Megadeth" Aguante roughly translates to "don't ever quit" or "let's go" in this context. Argentinians are great at chanting, specially in concerts and football matches. This particular chant originated in 1994 during Megadeth's first concert in the country. The audience started singing the riff and threw Dave Mustaine so off that he forgot the lyrics for a second. Since then the audience sings "Auante Megadeth" all over the world, but we owe Argentina for that awesome moment.

Check out Megadeths cover of "Boots." I think it's often overlooked, and a lot of newer fans probably never heard it as it's not one of their popular tracks but I LOVE the guitar riffs I want to learn this one as a guitar student. This was on their first album. Killing is my Business, and Business is good . I wore out the batteries in my Walkman rewinding and replaying this over and over again at 17. The recording wasn't great, but they've remastered it, but whenever I hear it I want to get my guitar out. I think alot of people don't know about it. This one got me "hooked in mouth" 😅 Someone will get that.

Dave is an asshat - but he is a great musician who can write a mean guitar riff. I've always been more of a Megadeth guy than a Metallica guy (although Puppets, Justice and the Black album got a lot of play time back in the day - strangely not Kill 'Em All though....), but even I have to admit that Dave is a jerk. There is a reason there have been over thirty(!) different band members in Megadeth (not including session musicians - It's honestly crazy - there is actually a separate Wikipedia page just for Megadeth band members because there are so many) and he is the only consistent one. Metallica meanwhile, have been the same crew forever (obviously with the exception of the death of Cliff and NEED to replace that position).
Metallica will forever be my favorite but I love me some Megadeth. No reason we can’t love both. Holy Wars blows me away every time I hear it.

@@tattoodude8946 Dave has had his troubles with drugs and is naturally intense but he's a good guy. I could hang with him easier than self-absorbed Hetfield. Every Leo I've ever met is extremely egocentric and James is clearly no different but he is also a good guy and obviously very talented.

Megadeth was my first Metal concert! Deftones opened for them, 1996 Red Rocks Amphitheater!!!! This is my favorite song of theirs!
Used to ride our 10 speeds and climb the rocks when I lived in Littleton.
Dave Mustain is top notch. More Megadeth please, more, more, more, especially the live sets.

Just picked up my MEGADETH tickets. Seen them for the first time in '88. It's getting close to 30 shows!
This concert in particular was performed in 2005. Dave was 43 that year and had just released an album the year prior after coming back from a 2 year disbandment of the band due to injury. The whole preamble leading up to this concert is just incredible.
I started watching your reaction videos when you listened to Tom Sawyer by Rush. I laughed so hard when you called Geddy Lee a geezer (means cranky old man here in the States, but my friend said she thought it was a common slang for a guy in general in England) that my hubby asked me what I was watching. I showed him and we enjoyed watching you discover them so much, he ended up checking out several in a row and now we both like to watch your videos 😊 👍
They are saying Megadeth, Megadeth, aguante Megadeth! Aguante in Argentine slang is an expression of encouragement, support. It means hold on, resist, something like that. I've seen some videos of Megadeth fans in non-Spanish speaking countries where they sing "Megadeth, Megadeth, Megadeth" during Symphony of Destruction, without the "aguante." But I think it sounds better if you say aguante. Just say it! You'll make Dave happy!
I heard Dave say he doesn't really like it when any audience but the Argentinian audience since that because it was special to them

"Aguante" in our slang means hold on, keep your strength, don't give up. Impossible to translate literally I guess.

One of my favorite Megadeth songs. You are going to love this one. I just learned the main riff on guitar a few months ago.I also just seen them live front row a few months ago as well. I got to see Megadeth in 2013 at the old Salem Armory in Salem, Oregon. There was maybe 1500 of us, with 500 in the mosh pit!

I have a silly story... my kids like Megadeth. I first introduced them to Megadeth by playing an episode of the cartoon Duck Dodgers. In the cartoon Duck Dodgers needs to defeat the Martians' secret weapon. They defeat them by defrosting Megadeth and playing a concert so loud it overwhelms their weapon and blows it up. The song they sing in the show is "Back in the Day".

Central and South America LOVE Metal of any kind. They draw these mega crowds that simply adore it! 150,000 people in rhythm? Queen would be proud!

I've never listened to Megadeth before (I'm 70), so I listened. Loved the crowd - Reminded me of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and I loved the band! Very cool!

For me, this song and the entire album just takes me back to 1992. It was when metal ruled popular music, and the biggest bands in the world were metal. Imagine how it felt to be into music at that point, with all the amazing metal and grunge albums coming out. The production on the Countdown To Extinction album is so perfect (thanks to Brit Max Norman), it just sounds super confident and polished. I really recommend listening to the last track on the record - Ashes In Your Mouth (studio version, not live).

Ive listened to Megadeth since the 80s and this is my first time seeing this live version , and that crowd helped make it !!!!! All crowds should try to be like that ! It makes things so much more fun for all involved !
The more you listen to music the more you want uniqueness. Dave Mustaines voice isn't for everyone but you can't deny the uniqueness. I take that any day over someone mistaking you for someone else.

I saw them at the Monsters of Rock at Costle Donnington in 1988, and they've been one of favourite go to thrash metal bands ever since and awesome live! You mentioned the guitar solo wasn't amazing and it sounded to me like they simplified it a little, maybe to make it easier to play live.

I've never been much into thrash metal, but I admit that Megadeth fascinated me. Dave Mustaine has a unique voice, he's unique himself. I guess you love or "hate" him. Symphony of Destruction is my favorite, for the music, but also for the lyrics. Genuine reaction, I enjoy the way you experience hearing songs, and your comment at the end

yeah hearing a huge crowd like that. watch iron maiden the clansman live rock in rio 2001. there is the huge crowd in chile singing freedom. the band had previously been denied entry to chile, now the military coup is gone.. on the red and the black live chapter the crowd sings instrumental. on rush in rio the crowd can be seen singing along to yyz which has no words.. bruce said the brazilian crowds were so full of joy as they sing.
