There isn't any mention of it but the 8 year old pushing the Green Viper at about the 12 1/2 minute mark is the pilot & was competing in the event. He finished 14th in his class.
Yep! He was the smallest person flying the biggest plane! It's good to see kids flying. Unfortunately I couldn't stay longer. I just had enough time to bring a giveaway plane for the event and shoot a little video.
@@RCINFORMER I've been photographing his progress from his start with a foam Timber thru to where he is now. He's very talented & enthusiastic plus into the building side of the hobby too.

@@RCINFORMER I think I would have been around that age too when I started building plastic kits (my father was in the RCAF) of WW 2 aircraft but in 1959 or 1960 I joined a new club on the air force base we were at & began building hand launch gliders & 1/2 A free flight planes. I've been in & out of the building / flying hobby a few times & now combine the flying models & photography hobbies together during the flying season here in Canada. I also do some building in winter, and if necessary repair work during either season.
