Im watching these to kind of get a feel for where I want my first tattoo, and its actually been super helpful! I figured out my placement and what I want and I am super excited to get cracking!
I only have one tattoo and it’s on the back of my neck and I was so worried that it was going to hurt a lot more than it did (I have a low pain tolerance) and honestly, it doesn’t hurt that much. If you’re worried about pain, do what I did and start with something small. Something that will take under an hour. Your body gets used to the dull pain and I promise that you probably think it’s worse than it really is, otherwise people like me wouldn’t want or get more tattoos. I could see tattoos taking 3 hours or more definitely getting really sore. Especially big pieces. Bring a friend and research the place and the artist before getting a tattoo. It really helps the vibe👍🏻
It's really about the artist. I had a group of 6 friends and I go to the best tattoo parlor in the town we were staying in while in Crete, and all seven of us said they felt almost nothing and that included stomach, ankle, collarbone, and other tats.
I sort of get the puppet thing i guess but the mouth movements of the puppet being so out of sync with what he's saying is really hard to take for some reason
I wish I could just be unconscious while getting a tattoo, haha. I wouldn't remember the pain, and I wouldn't bother my tattoo artist with involuntary twitches. I get why that's not possible, but it sure would be nice... :'D
@@almappes3396 All kinds of laws about awareness and consent, I'd wager. And also, I'm pretty sure a tattoo artist wouldn't legally be allowed to aquire and use the kinds of drugs that would knock you out like that.

The guy who said that pretty much every tattoo is going to have a dime sized spot that’s super painful is so true. I have a side thigh piece, a rib piece, and a piece that stretches shoulder blade to shoulder blade. I was told that my shoulder piece would be bad because it was across the spine, but that part barely hurt at all. It was just the edges of the tat where it went onto the shoulder blade itself that really killed. I was told my thigh piece would hurt less than my shoulder piece, but it hurt SO MUCH MORE (same artist for both), and where it stretched a little towards the back of the thigh/under the butt was fucking excruciating. The ribs hurt, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting (it was mostly just difficult to lay on my side for that long), but there were a few places on the upper ribs that had me clenching my teeth. For sure the worst part of getting tattooed for me is just the healing process. The itching drives me fucking mad.
when i got my sleeve done he got into the armpit and i was told it was gunna hurt but it actually ended up tickling so it def depends on who you are and whos tattooing you
Some people like pain! Literally, some people genuinely enjoy pain. That's why some people get tattooed (other than enjoy getting art on their body). It's adrenalin.
@@blueblue2338 I'm 17. And curious. And this is really-really painful. I can't imagine myself to get a vagina tattoo, but I'm not afraid of pain, and like tattoos really much.
That bit about long sessions is SO true. My half sleeve was almost nine hours in the second session and my artist saved the center of my upper arm for last. I'd been through the inner arm, elbow ditch, elbow itself without a problem and that last bit of center arm just KILLED. I didn't cry, but I was shaking like a leaf by the time he finished. Roughest 45 minutes of any tattoo I've had.
Guy gives the perfect answer as always. Good lord I wish I lived near that man and was loaded! He always gives such a good explanation of what, how and why. Anyone that lives reasonably close and wants a tattoo and can live with being on a waiting list, you'd be a fool to go to anyone else. I can't imagine a better tattooist for your first tattoo.
Out of all my tattoos, the one one my ribs was the worst! I’ve been tattooed 8 times on various parts of my body since I got that one, and it’s still my most traumatic tattoo memory.
I love when newbies get their first tattoo and say ohh tattoos dont hurt really confident ... yet their tattoo is so tiny its a blink an you will miss it..... ask me after a 4+ hr session an then tell me if you still feel the same
eh. I've my entire back (tops of shoulders to ass crack) done, and mostly eh, it didn't really hurt. Like the last guy said though, there were spots (for me, about the size of a dime) that sucked balls hard, but overall the rest I was mostly nodding off for.
Where your butt cheek meets your thigh and into the inside of the thigh is the most painful. It’s worse than childbirth and I encourage men who want to know how bad childbirth is to go get a large tattoo there. I have my spine, ribs, top of foot, and knee. The one on my left ribs hurt worse than the one on my right but it was a dark black bold lettering of my late fiancé writing “Rob loves Cindi”. I got it the day I got back from his funeral and situation could have made it more painful. I saw white but I was also crying. Which I had to take a break because I didn’t want to mess him up when I started bawling. It was painful and emotional. Still doesn’t compare the the butt to thigh tattoo.
my neck from bottom to top area wrapped all the way around reaching behind my ears ...yeh, it hurt. bad. plus the dude was like 280lbs or more with ham hands and demanded I stay upside-down sorta for majority of the time. (2hr sessions, 3 different times) felt like razors slicing me wide open and he tattooed inside the wounds..ahhh
Tattoos haven’t bothered me - foot, wrist, Achilles’ tendon all were “normal” pain levels. But behind my ear was intense. It was more the way you have to lay with your head turned, my other ear suctioned to the chair and the buzzing of the machine made my brain tickle.
I got my entire back done a few years ago and I thought that was bad, then I got my knee done and that was hands down the most painful tattoo I've ever gotten.

Nightcore Lover tattoos don’t hurt, they’re annoying.
Im watching these to kind of get a feel for where I want my first tattoo, and its actually been super helpful! I figured out my placement and what I want and I am super excited to get cracking!
I love how Mark and Ryan were Rivals on season 5 of Ink Master and now they're like best buds
me: I want a tattoo
me: *watches this video*
me: I dont want a tattoo

Toh, un altro italiano.

Why is lil van on the video with a puppet? Ik I probably sound dumb, but I’m curious lol
I think he was burned or something
Because he want to compete with little homie
Poor thing
I sort of get the puppet thing i guess but the mouth movements of the puppet being so out of sync with what he's saying is really hard to take for some reason
He just does that shit I guess idk why but if you wanna know who’s behind it his Instagram is @evanlovett
Paul booth always just chillin saying some philosophical shit that only legends can understanf
"The taint, the gooch, the grundle?"
Number one best quote from this whole series
I wish I could just be unconscious while getting a tattoo, haha.
I wouldn't remember the pain, and I wouldn't bother my tattoo artist with involuntary twitches.
I get why that's not possible, but it sure would be nice... :'D
Why is this not possible?
@@almappes3396 All kinds of laws about awareness and consent, I'd wager.
And also, I'm pretty sure a tattoo artist wouldn't legally be allowed to aquire and use the kinds of drugs that would knock you out like that.
Maybe get an artist who uses uses numb spray. (don't just use it on your own beforehand)
@@almappes3396 antistesia is dangerous, many people go under and are not able to be brought back. The whole point is to put you as close to death as possible then bring you back. The medical field still doesn't fully understand how antistesia even works.
Because it would be a few grand just for the anesthesia
I don't know why but i love how the last dude called all the parts of bones guys 😶
Haha I call everything "guys". No idea why, it just happens.
Pass me that guy there
Ever see one of these guys?
Yeah, one of those guys
🤷♂️
Yeah they always like going like....like you know...
Finally found Lil Van !! its the tattoo artist Evan Lovett . you welcome.
Is that who he is?
"it felt like I was tattooing lightning in my body" was such a good phrase kinda poetic..
Favourite bit was where the three dudes repeatedly talked over each other.
The dude at the end seemed really chill
My rule of thumb is the closer you get to a joint or the less fat there is, youre probably going to feel a bit more.
I agree!! I stay pretty lean and have a fair amount of muscle...0 insulation on the muscle hurts like a mofo.
Agreed. The doughie bits literally cushion the pain.
If lesser fat hurts more then why many people said tattooing ass hurts?
Good gauge is pinching yourself, you can compare how some places hurt way worse than others
Then why is the butt so painful
I love the Anthony Dj Josh dynamic!
It’s always amazing seeing my tattoo artist on these. You’re the best chris!❤️!
If I was into tattoos and had money with something meaningful to me, I'd pay whatever it would cost to go to the US to be a client of Guy Atichson.
when i got my sleeve done he got into the armpit and i was told it was gunna hurt but it actually ended up tickling so it def depends on who you are and whos tattooing you
I can't get why ANYONE wants a tattoo or a piercing on his/her genitals.😶
Can someone explain it to me, please?😅
Kid you're to young to know
Some people like pain! Literally, some people genuinely enjoy pain. That's why some people get tattooed (other than enjoy getting art on their body). It's adrenalin.
@@blueblue2338
I'm 17. And curious.
And this is really-really painful.
I can't imagine myself to get a vagina tattoo, but I'm not afraid of pain, and like tattoos really much.

Oh, I see...
Thanks 😇😅

the vage itself cant get tattooed. wouldnt know how that could possibly work.
The whole video was so funny because everyone was talking about how depressed the pain made them
My tattoo artist literally has everything from toes, to the back of his head, and his face, and he even told me the palm suuuuucks.
Out of all my tattoos, the one one my ribs was the worst! I’ve been tattooed 8 times on various parts of my body since I got that one, and it’s still my most traumatic tattoo memory.
It makes me so happy to see all these ink masters on here 😍😍
I love Robbie, like him or hate him he’s real and genuine.
Where thigh meets the butt is rough. For me it was sore for so long after getting done, but towards the knee ditch hurt more up front
I love when newbies get their first tattoo and say ohh tattoos dont hurt really confident ... yet their tattoo is so tiny its a blink an you will miss it..... ask me after a 4+ hr session an then tell me if you still feel the same
My first tattoo was like 5 hours for the half sleeve outline 😂 the worst part was the top part of my shoulder near my collarbone
Okay I feel attacked😂
eh. I've my entire back (tops of shoulders to ass crack) done, and mostly eh, it didn't really hurt. Like the last guy said though, there were spots (for me, about the size of a dime) that sucked balls hard, but overall the rest I was mostly nodding off for.
I got my first 2 in one night and they were both about 4-5 inches long, didn't really hurt but they were on my biceps
Have my arm, hand, fingers, neck done, and everything was fine except the throat and wrist.
Glad you put Guy last he summed up everything like a G😎🤙🏼
"No brain, no pain" bro lmaoo 😂
Laughed out loud when the hand tattoo guy said ‘yeah this was tattooed on my soul’ 😂
8:42 thank you bradley cooper for answering the questions way better than the previous artists. btw i love your movies
The last dude got the best word in.
“Where the butt meets the thigh is a whole mother kind of sadness” I CAN CONFIRM! As well as the V-Line/hip bone! OUCH
1:00 ....I love it when these trio are put together....they just clicked.
I experienced the same i have neck finger ribs sleeves and buttocks and upper back thigh where it meet butt I died and came back lol
@@mdlusopp Yea it’s def something special lol
I agree with everyone who said ankle. I got my whole ribs tattoed in one 6 hour session and it was nothing compared to ankle bone.
@DJ WTF are you covered in? Dandruff? Baby Powder?
Christopher McHenry it’s bleach
The real machine is more painful that the ones that people use in jail... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
kwayne14vega cause the real machines make shit stay 😉
prisons probably using a single liner so no skin resistance at all
My lower back and shoulder blades was the worst pain I’ve ever felt beside the spinal fusion surgery pain upon waking up in the icu.
This was spot on. Great line up!
my neck from bottom to top area wrapped all the way around reaching behind my ears ...yeh, it hurt. bad.
plus the dude was like 280lbs or more with ham hands and demanded I stay upside-down sorta for majority of the time. (2hr sessions, 3 different times) felt like razors slicing me wide open and he tattooed inside the wounds..ahhh
Got picks ?? I wanna see no jomo
I’m not sure what it is but getting Tattoo’s is very therapeutic for me. Maybe that’s why I have 80% of my body covered in ink 😁
And of course, left the best for last! Guy Atchison! The one guy I always want to get ink from and still haven't! 😞
Doty personality is so chill she seems so cute
Robbie Ripoll, made me laugh so hard, not the video but him talking about it had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recently got my first tat on my ribs. First session was 4 hours, going back in soon. Was pretty sore but I can't compare it to any other tattoos 😂
I was surprised when I saw the Willinghams, I know them personally!
we need to start implementing anesthesia before tattooing
Just knock me out❤
Anesthesia can kill you lol... hence why it’s only used when not using it would be just as bad
