  • This tune up is on a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, however this process is identical on vehicles equipped with the 5.3L V8. The main thing to pay attention to is the Ignition coil pack style, they have a “round” and “square” version. Make sure to buy OEM spark plugs and always work on a cold engine.
    Parts used on vehicle
Spark plugs- AC Delco Iridium 41-162
Spark plug wires- Duralast Gold D801138
Ignition coil packs(round style)- Duralast C1512

good job overall. BUT..i alwayd use fender protective covers on a customer car..especially a high end car..you will inevitably scratch or drop a tool on the paint..which would piss me off if it was mine....be professional. 2: using an electric wrench is the quickest way to strip or cross thread...use for taking out only. you shoukd have showed how to get to the right rear...I usually pull the oil stick bracket bolt and move it aside...then it is doable..tight..but doable. 4use a piece of fuel like..3 inches to the top of the plug..and they will find their way back into the holes..and you wont damage if u cross thread bc you cant app too much torque w the rubber...5..if you got a torque wrench on that right rear..youre better than most :) 6 good use of dielectric grease..often overlooked. i give you a "C" bc my mantra is just like the hypocratic oath..First do NO harm. the best skills in the world dont overcome damage to a customers vehicle...otherwise...B+

Glad I read this comment I was definitely gonna use Denso plugs. I use to use them for my 98 F150 and they made it run/sound amazing. Very responsive throttle. What happened when u used them for the Caddy?

Iridium spark plugs last about 120,000. If they go out or are going out the coils & wires won’t be far behind. I recommend doing the job in its entirety for best results

@@mack606you dont need to change the coils unless there faulty. Wires yes you must changed them.

@@rhurtadorh32 I agree. This is reason to change the spark plugs early, like 5 to 10K before recommended interval. This way the spark plug gap does not widen enough to stress the coils, and plug wire insulation.
If in doubt, do an electrical check on the coils. If they are good, use them.

🤌🏾🫵🏾If it makes you feel better the old spark plug wires are red the new ones were black at 8:11 you’ll see the new coil and wire so I must’ve changed the back one it’s simply easier on the driver side didn’t want to be redundant

Lol you didn't want to be redundant? So you don't show the hardest one. The reason why most people will watch the video... but you'll be redundant on an the other ones... gotcha@ultimatediyguy395
