In this Gear4music demo we take a look at the Behringer Deepmind 6 synthesizer.
The Behringer Deepmind 6 Synthesizer is a compact yet powerful polyphonic analog synthesizer, building on the success of the original Deepmind synthesizer.
The Deepmind 6 Polysynth retains nearly all of the features of its predecessor, minus the WiFi for truly powerful, analog synthesis. The 6-voice, mono-timbral configuration allows you to create deep and complex sounds with ease and also retains the four world-class FX engines, produced by the world's leading audio professionals including TC Electronic, Midas and Klark Teknik.
The effects engines of the Deepmind 6 are based on over 30 diverse algorithms, ranging from Reverbs and Delays to Phasers and Flangers.
With its smaller size and powerful engines, the Deepmind 6 is ideal for live performers and studio use alike.
Despite the demo, this synth also makes incredible pads and psychedelic sounds. We're talking movie quality epic tier pads.
I'm so glad i as a musician that loves synths and programs my own sounds, writes my own music doesn't need psychedelic drugs or sounds.
@@georgegeorgio1751 what a weird comment. Give yourself a pat on the back, you sound like a square (and not because you don't do drugs.)
@@cn1506 I take it you approve of drugs?
Well I do.. and these synthesizers really enhances the experience
how do we know it's non-sinusoidal
Sounds great.
I love this synth
I love this synth as well. Wana gift it to me
@@Adol28 I'm still pretty attached to it if I'm honest 😁
I wanted the 12, but there’s something appealing about the compactness of the 6. That and if fits perfectly on my ikea Elvarli shoe/synth shelves 😁
And here I was thinking that I was probably the only person using shoe shelves for synths. 😂 Reading your comment while thinking the same thing. I have the Roland JDXI and the 37 key size is really just the perfect combo of easily portable and just enough room for controls / keys. I love it so much that I think it's likely I'll end up with a bunch of these size synths.
lmao shoe-shelf crew, i too love them for this
The DM12 desktop works out great with an Arturia Keystep.
Same here. Besides, you can always hook up some sort of a 88 control keyboard and voilà. 🙂
Awesome. Thanks for doing the hands on thing with the 6. It is nice to see how the dimensions look.
Does this guy just have giant hands? :)
I'm still wondering how a three octave keyboard and two wheels fits in 65cm (25.6"). I haven't read anything to say the keys are smaller than full sized though.
I’ll be getting the 12D and after that I’ll have all the roland clones from behringer
Bravo!!!!
Does it have a catchup function whereby the parameter doesnt jump when you start moving the faders or knobs?
what nice sounds
I need one
Can you record and layer tracks or only via mac / pc
hi, does the sequencer start and stop playing when i hit play on logic ? thanks :)
I have a quick question, will a talk box work this? Sorry I am new to synthesizers and don’t really know much about them
A talk box will work with anything that has an audio output, including the Deepmind.
i would love to use this and start a prog rock band lol
Has it stereo outputs?
How do the keys feel? It's one of the few 3 octave keyboards, which is why I'm interested in getting one (for travel, DJ table, etc.).
I played one a couple of years ago, and the keys were the worst, cheapest I have ever encountered
They really arent that bad
better than peak..wish this had more knobs..sounds like it doesn’t need them although.
aftertouch test,,, where pls..
Does this have a chord memory like the deep mind 12 and can it accept a sustain pedal?
Yes, it has the chord feature and sustain pedal inputs. (The features are the same as Deepmind 12, but it only has 6 voices and 36 keys. Biggest difference is it can't sustain more than 6 notes at the same time. However, the Juno 6 couldn't either.
Does this keyboard has in-built speakers?if not then what speakers I should buy to connect to this keyboard?plz guide
Hi! There are no built-in speakers so you'll need a set of speakers or headphones to hear this.
If you're playing at home or in a studio, check out our studio monitors for really clear sound.
www.gear4music.com/Studio_Monitors/Type.html
If you're playing on stage, or you need a bit more volume, you might want a bigger keyboard amplifier.
www.gear4music.com/pianos-keyboards/accessories/amps
Here's our range of headphones too!

Sounds like you should get a Casio and save about $400
If you just to play and listen, headphones. If you want to perform or record i recommend multitrack recorder and monitors.
Houw's the build quality? I've messed with some newer synths in stores and was absolutely horrified by the Yamaha MXs. They felt so much cheaper than any crappy toy keyboard.
Very solid. Like a tank.
Thanks for the demo. Is the screen on straight? I saw some where it was crooked, and how's the overall build quality?
Lol
Crooked? I've never seen anyone claim any Deepmind had a crooked screen. Or any build quality issues. Why wouldn't they just send it back? It's rock solid, for anyone wondering. They have a 3 year warranty.
@@Zinfidel1 lol, yeah didnt you know crooked screens come standard.
Is this a Roland troll
I have a question. I have never had a synth(So, please don't get mad for asking a stupid question). Do you need a headphone or a box to hear the synth's output?
Yes
Yes there are no built in speakers on this one
lmfao
@@SpaceLab-ei5sq grow up
@@BloodBoughtMinistries because I laughed? Okay, I guess everyone starts somewhere but built in speakers aren't really high on the list of desirable features to have ona synth
wish thing thing had a decent elektron style step sequencer
This could be a nice synth for a beginer? Or the minilogue is still a better option for that?
Yes, good for a beginner, as long as you are willing to deal with a little menu diving and learning all the parameters. Minilogue is simpler and easier, though. The Deepmind will continue to serve you well even after you become more skilled.
Then there's the Deepmind 12D to consider, only 50 bucks more for the module version of the higher polyphony variant, if you already have a keyboard controller. Kinda kills the point of having a lower priced version if the better one is barely any more expensive, comparatively.
mmmmm niiiicceeee!
I'd recommend the keyboard version over the desktop version as connecting a separate keyboard is a nightmare
Why is that? Is it that hard to get it working with midi?
How is a USB cable a nightmare??
@@WrvrUgoThrUR It's a type D input, same as most keyboards and a USB d2d cable is almost impossible to find and even if you find one, it won't work.
@@kronossonork6994 USB MIDI keyboards and Behringer DeepMinds are also "USB device". If you connect them to each other using a USB cable, they will not communicate. They can only communicate with a "USB host" using a USB cable.
Presumably you can just use 5-pin midi though? No need for a USB cable.
Yes but can it g funk?
Yeee that IS the Question lol
Can it djent?
If it has a sawtooth osc and a filter, then im sure it can
does it have built-in speakers?
Dude!
@@FrozenPlasmaOfficial_YT
😂
...and a radio
No. Thank god !
Still happy with the Roland juno 6 in the studio , that synth sounds real annalog
if you have a juno 6 why are you even watching this video?
@@lucasc5622 Interest.....juno6 is the master for production and a lot of toys from the past are in the rack on the wall. For a customer of the studio I have to watch the Deepmind to give advice. Thats the reason....maybe you understand
YEZZZ 3:00 🔥🔥🔥🔥
0.50 = Minecraft
Can it record ? If not what's the point?
Idiot
Tim obviously has never tried to make music with synths.
Another Casio Candidate. Go ‘way you no have synthtelligence!!! “Does it record” Pfft!! 🤦🏽♂️ amateur.
Of course it can record, how do you think we are listening to it in this video? Every synth on the market has an audio out.
No shit Sherlocks. Without bringing a computer it can NOT record. Wow such angst. .
sounds Typical
A fucking waste of money. How dare they start the cost of this at £600. Crap.
