    Thank you so much!! We have a top loader LG Washing Machine, same model number. Our machine has been making a grinding, slipping noise upon agitation. After three weeks of being tossed around by the LG company seeking tech help, Tech finally came this morning, did a few tests &, said everything is fine. However, we still have a malfunctioning washer. You have saved the day! AND our washer is still under Warranty, less than a year old.

    I work for an electronic / Appliance repair company. We worked on a customer's Lg washing machine almost exactly like this one. Had the same problem. We ordered the agitator plate. But when We installed it, the gearbox/transmission made a horrendous noise, so we ordered the gearcase. Now, after the new gearbox was installed, we ran a test cycle on it, and when it came time to agitate the plate, it still did not work. We thought we received a defective gearbox so we ordered another one. Nope, same problem. The shifter motor or clutch motor was working fine. It turned out the rotor was the culprit. When we loosened the nut, the agitator plate would work, but when we fully tightened it, it would lock the gearbox, and the agitator stayed locked to the drum. Somehow the center part of the rotor slipped inside the hub so the inner part of the stator was rubbing up against the gearbox.
    The actual fix is to replace the Stator, but thinking about it, a temporary fix would have been to get a hammer and a small socket and pound it in a little to move it back into position.
    Basically, the stator is a heavy flywheel without a locking key. There is nothing but friction stopping it from sliding up and down the shaft. The gearbox has splines and so does the stator, but if the splined part is just press fit into the stator, what's the point?

    I’m having the same issue, but it kind of seems like the bolt snapped into two, one side being stuck into the machine.
    Does the bolt screw into the machine?
    Or does the boat simply tighten it without going into the machine?

    Thanks for this information as i never thought to look at the plastics teeth for damage.
    My LG wt1201cw “nut comon” keeps getting loose even after being tightened with a pipe wrench and a 2lb sledge hammer.
    It also started to spin way too fast for the last three minutes before the cycle end. Any suggestions what could be wrong. I just ordered a new nut because the old nut threads seemed to be damage similar to a engine oil pan bolt.

    My lg washer agitatornplaye came off. I notice the shaft/rod appeared work. Should it have a fairly sharp gear-like texture on it? In the agitatornplaye it looked like metal had been wearing because there was a gray substance because it was wet. I screwed the plate back down because the screw that holds the plate on the shaft had became disconnected. Not sure if this will get by or if I’ll have another problem? Any ideas love to hear.

    • @scrapman502

      make sure the drum is seated all the way down on the gearbox. It's either a spline fit or hexagonal. If you have not removed or replaced the drum or gearbox, then your gearbox may be damaged. Maybe you haven't pushed the agitator plate all the way down. Try using some lithium grease on the splines.

    Our problem after seeing this video we noticed that we had a stuck penny on the Adjetador… after removing it our washer is working fine.

    • @scrapman502
      @scrapman502 2 роки тому +1

      Funny thing, Pennies and dimes usually slip past the agitator and get stuck in the drain holes. When enough of them accumulate, it puts the drum out of balance and the machine shakes violently when on the spin cycle. You might want to remove the drum, flip it upside down and inspect the drain holes. If you're lucky, the coins will just fall out. you may have to tap them out with a screwdriver. The last time I replaced a drum, I pulled out about $1.90 in dimes and pennies. The Nickels are too big to slip past the agitator place and just roll around forever. I have some nice one-sided nickels, some heads only, some tails only. Perfectly smooth and flat on one side.

      your Shifter is probably damaged. either the shifter motor isn't working, or the plastic shifter mechanism is broken. it slides a plastic gear up and down the gearbox on a shaft and engages the motor's flywheel. (all plastic parts)
