Hi Hick, nice videos. I just bought my first gun, and it is a Glock 22 (.40 caliber). I am 6'3 , 240 lbs. and I am so happy. I entered the shop confident I was to get a 26, 42 or 43. I discover my body frame can conceal the full size Glock 22 quite easily, and it is so comfortable . Patience was rewarded when selecting the gun. When I first shot my G23, I thought it kicked a lot. After putting about 700 rds through it, I can manage it really well. It almost doesn't kick at all anymore. It's a matter of taste, and just getting used to it. I did shoot the G27 and didn't like it. The size made it not so manageable.
Thanks man I'm about to buy my first firearm and It definitely helped me understand the differences, now I won't sound like a total moron in the gun store.
Don't be afraid to ask questions at the gun store, most that I have been to are more than happy to help you out and educate and they won't judge. The worst thing you could do is go in there acting like you know what your talking about.
Have all of them except the G20 & G29. Love them all but it's something about that G30 that just captives me especially when I shoot it. Love too try the 10mm Glocks next.
Dane Stetson It's pretty easy to modify a Glock 17 to full-auto. It still isn't a Glock 18, but maybe that's what he means. (Even tho that's illegal even in the states as far I know.)
He probably meant to say 17, and his finger slipped while typing. I know it's a little bit big for a carry gun (at least, by my standards) but it's more likely than him actually owning and cc'ing an 18.
I can't believe this video is 4 days from being 10 years old. Props to the whole Hickok gang!! Over the past several years I come to Hickok45's page to hear his thoughts on certain guns before I ever make a purchase.
They are nice shooters. I think for concealed carry, they are not as popular as they once were. Still very, very nice, but there are so many smaller, lighter firearms for concealed carry now, that the G30 appears to be more of a thick little brick by comparison. Of course, that's one reason it is such a great shooter; it has the weight and size to easily manage the .45 ACP. I don't want to talk you out of it.
@@hickok45 thanks for your input but I chose a New Sig Sauer P320 C in 45.caliber, It felt alot better in the hand than the glock,Also buying a new 320c in In March 2022,Are the updates on the triggers and safety already took care of or so I need to contact Sig Customer Service ,Thanks so much,,,Sincerely Steve Smith
I like Glocka as well. This video is a bit dated. I'd love to hear about your thoughts on more current Glocks. I own a 43x and it is a very nice compromise between small size for concealed carry and grip purchase in my opinion.
I never like Glock because of the looks. However I bought a Glock 24 this week. Took it out to shoot I have no idea whey I never bought one before. The brake down very easy and shoot great. I have several sw and on Beretta Storm which I love, but I will be buy more Glocks in the future. Just that good.
Ryan Tong The G18/20C eat ammo just like every other gun so what's so "ammo waster" about both? A G18 is basically a non-civilian version of the G17 w/ select fire (fully auto) that, by the way, can switch back to single shot. G20C, big 10mm, you gotta pay to play with big calibers.
Ryan Tong Fair enough. Currently, reloading is the way to go for the budgeted shooters. I shoot once a month (roughly around 100-200 rounds per session) and have enough 10mm ammo to last me for at least a year in a half so I'm not too worry about running out of ammo anytime soon.
The the 45 ACP is probably in my opinion the most ballistically inferior round that you could concealed carry because it doesn't penetrate like a 9 mm it's velocity is way too slow it's not even as concealable as a 9 mm 40 380. The guns that shoot 45 ACP you have less capacity than you would with a 40 or 9 mm and it's penetration is less than both it does however have a lot of energy transfer because of the weight of the bullet. But say for instance the 10 mm is a slightly smaller caliper with a lot more power and you get more capacity. Most people like the 45 because of its fictitious reputation of being like the baddest caliper made but in a gun battle I would choose a 9 mm of 40 or 10 mm over the 45 everyday because you have capacity so there is suppressive fire you have better penetration of bullets move faster The Recoil on a 9 millimeter is not a sharp
@@MichaelDMcCasland lol also buddy your 380 u feel is better than a 45 lol holds way way less even less than a damn 22 lmao has no stoping power even the 9s was to muvh of a risk cops changed to a 40 cause not enough power so buddy your 7 round 380 vs a 7 round 45 or a glock 21 which is a great gun btw 380 glock will jam after 100 shots new the 21 don't jam no matter cheap or expensive ammo but new or old and holds 14 bolders In it to even have the nerve to compare a 380 to a 45 in words of better if u wanna every day carry a 380 good luck protecten ya family and your self vs any other weapons other than a 25 22 or 32 u might have a chance

Thanks for the great video. I'm new to the world of Glock. The information was nicely presented. I'm trying to decide between the 21 or the 19. Thanks again.
9mm is cheaper ammo, so you can shoot more. is lighter, if you carry. 45 packs good punch, and recoil is very manageable. so, decide on the caliber, and then see what fits your hand better. I prefer the 19 to the 17 just because of the feel in the hand. if you go with the 45, try out both the 21 and the 30, there will be a subtle difference in the feel. personally, I love my 19, and my 30. good luck
Lyle W What's your opinion on the best Glock for 40. S&W? I'm torn between deciding on which of the two cheaper calibers to go for. 40cal and 9mm are what I'm between, and am wondering the most popular for each caliber. It seems the 9mm has the Glock 17 as the most liked from what I've read here. But not much for the 40cal.
Almost makes me want one of these abominations. ;) Actually that G30 looks sweet. Thinking about one... came to the ancient archive for wisdom from the master.
Excellent review, as always. I just think that for demonstration and instructional purposes, you should have a 17 and a 22 in there. Yeah, I know they aren't your favorites, but if a person were going to keep a flush-fitting magazine in a handgun in their car, dresser drawer, or as you like to say, on top of the refrigerator, why would they NOT want to consider a full-capacity offering, and gain a couple rounds with no sacrifice? Again, I understand your love for the 19 and the 23, and I share it, but skipping the 17 and 22, especially in an instructional and all-encompassing Glock video like this, is glaringly remiss. (I love your videos and have.....for MANY years.)

You can never go wrong with a Glock!
Nice Video!
Don't feel bad; I'm a "total moron" at the gun shop myself pretty often! :-)
hickok45 please do a s&w 586 classic line revolver review. s&w started making this revolver again in 2012.
Don't be afraid to ask questions at the gun store, most that I have been to are more than happy to help you out and educate and they won't judge. The worst thing you could do is go in there acting like you know what your talking about.
Good to see this video. Been watching your videos for years, have seen so many of your glock videos and today I bought my first 19 gen 3.
Nice!!!!
If I could only own one pistol, it would definitely be a Glock 19 Gen 3. I absolutely love that gun!
Amen brother ! Same hete
Move to california and that'll be the only pistol you can own!
Have all of them except the G20 & G29. Love them all but it's something about that G30 that just captives me especially when I shoot it. Love too try the 10mm Glocks next.
you got a g18?
The most informative & best clock demonstration ever, thank you sir.
*Glock
I have viewed many reviewers, hickok45 is a great place to watch GLOCK reviews
I conceal carry multiple guns...I conceal carry the glock 34 and a glock 18 and 19 and I also carry the m&p .40 I recommend all of them
I sure you don't carry a Glock 18 as that's the full automatic.Glock didn't make many.
Toni CounterLife Not difficult, maybe, but dangerous as all hell, not to mention illegal.
I love glocks its just hard to get one in new jersey in cali i had several
Got a glock 21 in 45. acp. Been working amazing. Such a joy to shoot at the range.
i got the gen 4 i love it
+Thomas Jervis That's the glock I am buying next, the 21. You got the Gen 4?
+Thomas Jervis
Smoothest shooting .45 ever. I had a 21 at one point, lovely gun.
I can't believe this video is 4 days from being 10 years old. Props to the whole Hickok gang!! Over the past several years I come to Hickok45's page to hear his thoughts on certain guns before I ever make a purchase.
I love that 21.. absolutely my favorite glock
Glock 27 is the best off duty weopon I've seen
You have an excellent pronunciation. I live in Brazil and I can understand you well. Congratulations on the video
I'm interested in buying a Glock 30 Gen 4,A hard pistol to find here in Nashville Tn.Whats your input on the gen 4 30 ?Thanks
@@hickok45 Thank You !!
"Homeland Security buzzing... Private Property" 😆 -LOVE IT!
🔫 (only emoji is a Revolver...)
It took me 10 years to get the "GlockFest" joke..
I laughed anyways!
Dear Mr H 45, I like your ramblings, I think you were a great teacher. Thanks for you and John's content.
I never like Glock because of the looks. However I bought a Glock 24 this week. Took it out to shoot I have no idea whey I never bought one before. The brake down very easy and shoot great. I have several sw and on Beretta Storm which I love, but I will be buy more Glocks in the future. Just that good.
this video is still being watched today. just saw someone comment 2 days ago
Hickok is a popular guy with a sense of humor.
Ya its on UA-cam people will watch it
Do they make a bolt action glock?
dafuq?
Not all polymer wonders are made by Glock.
Mailto Sage Your comment made my evening. I busted out laughing.
No they do not make a bolt action glock i hope you where just joking or you act like your 5 or 6 sorry dude
Mailto Sage What prompted this question?
Thanks Hickok45 and your son John for all your informative videos! I enjoy watching them so much.
The best Glock is the Glock 18 or Glock 20C.
Ryan Tong
Fair enough. Currently, reloading is the way to go for the budgeted shooters. I shoot once a month (roughly around 100-200 rounds per session) and have enough 10mm ammo to last me for at least a year in a half so I'm not too worry about running out of ammo anytime soon.
glock 43 is the only glock that I need.
my favorite pistol caliber is 45. acp all the way.
@@MichaelDMcCasland now that is my 2 cents like every one says opinions are like...A$$HOLES every body has one but honest best of luck not being rude just think saying a 380 is better than 45 for edc shows you gotta learn alot more on guns good luck brother not being rude I swear my opinion
@Uganda Knuckles thank you good sir lmao he knows nothing really even saying a 380 is better
Glock is love Glock is life
I looked through all the videos and haven't seen any Polymer 80 Glock videos.Im sure alot of people would love to know your opinion on them and how they compare to the OEM Glocks.I highly respect you Hickok45 I love the videos and have gained alot of knowledge from them.God bless bro!!!
Person who owns one handgun:Ya I’m into guns
Hickok 45:I’m ‘bout to end this mans whole career
Watch out. You buy one, get into guns, then you say "hay I kinda want another". Then before you know it you have too many to even afford to shoot them all.
Love my 26, surprisingly good shooter for such a dinky pistol. A consideration that might have been missed: ammo cost. It's much cheaper to practice with your 9 mm than any of the others.
The 26 might be dinky, but at 25 feet it hits really well
Thank you for the world of info ! I am a Glock fan,- but a fairly new shooter. I saw the difference in the recoil for each caliber. Am purchasing my 3rd Glock,- and all these considerations have enormously helped me !! Thanks so much !!
You are a GREAT instructor! So glad I’m following your channel!👊🏻
Glock heaven rewiew.
I think I know which one i'm buying as my first.. glock 17 mos.
First 8 words went by... Gave it a like
14 years ago!!! Wow...thank you guy's for all these great years
My favorite Glocks are the glock 30, 29 for the ultimate stopping power 👍
Hickok, just so you know, I recently got a GLOCK and on the registration card where it says "What made you choose Glock?" I wrote, D) Other:_____HICKOK45 from UA-cam_____
glock 17 gen 4 ftw
great video! after watching it, it made my decision easier on which glock to purchase which will be the Glock 23 gen4. Thank You! picking it up tomorrow! keep it up, sir! huge fan of yours!
I love this video it is probably why I bought 2 glocks I bought a 22 then traded it for a 23 and I have a 27 great guns.
Why trade th 22?
@@shake1602 I saw this video thought it was better to carry which I think it is I still have 22 mags for it that I use as backup.
@@jshkendra Fair enough
@@shake1602 Plus the gun store that I bought it from where pretty rude to me the one day and it came with night sights that where not on straight. In fact the gun store that I traded it in said the same thing.
Watching this video 8 years later and still one of my favorites 👍🏻
Hickock has mentioned in other videos if he had to have one, it would be his Glock 27 .40SW.
Mr. Hickock 45, I know this is an older Video but do you use the tip of your Finger or do you Rap your around the Trigger Fully? Thank you very kindly and have a Blessed Day........🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾
Brownellls has a great video on that exact topic.
I prefer the 19 to the 17 just because of the feel in the hand. if you go with the 45, try out both the 21 and the 30, there will be a subtle difference in the feel. personally, I love my 19, and my 30. good luck
.45's cost almost twice as a 9mm. Shooting off a 13 round mag of .45's would cost you around $6
But not much for the 40cal.
vgman94 go with the 23 or 27 I love the 40 the perfect round IMO and not to expensive to shoot!
Glock 21
Do you recommend glock 19 for a police officer?
NYPD uses 'em.
Gangvevo The Glock 17/22
I just like how the 17 shoots, for me I seem to shoot dead on with 17 .
Same here glk 17 👌🏽
Y’all ugly omm
I’m a G19 Type Of Guy 🩸
Sir Which Caliber, Ammunition, Bullets you prefer ???? for self defence which is the best ??
Almost makes me want one of these abominations. ;)
Actually that G30 looks sweet. Thinking about one... came to the ancient archive for wisdom from the master.
I know it’s 2020 now but I shot a Glock 30 gen 4 for the first time a few days ago and it’s one of the smoothest shooting guns I ever shot
@@foyfamily6960 The new 43x fit your hand like a glove and is short...
@@Ken-bj1sc I shot one at the range it’s actually snappy I like how the Glock 45 shoots a lot better i also like the 26 better
guy's a good shooter
I would hope so. He used to be a professional competitive shooter.
He’s beast I don’t know anyone that shoots targets like him
Excellent review, as always.
Facts !!! 19,23,26&27 are top 4 best glocks hands down
