When Gordon mentioned putting a sign, it reminded me of when my grandparents moved house and their new one had a sliding glass door at the back. There was a pattern on the glass at around human eye height, so it was easier to tell if the door was open, but my grandparents also had a cat who'd never been in a house with a glass door. @@debc4567 Yeah it’s against the health code you should never touch yourself in anyway when working with food or you have to wash your hands again before continuing
It's the calmest ones that explode the biggest. Also I find it crazy that there's no comments saying Gordon was harsh on JP in the last bit. He tried calmly talking to Van (in order to help him, even), but gets pissed when Van jeopardizes the safety of other people by running in the restaurant and still doesn't listen to him. I think he has every right to be pissed at that point, if he had Gordon's personality he would've lost it when Van insisted on serving the wrong table.
@@kaichisendou totally agree, van is just an arrogant nob who thinks he can get things wrong and have it be no big deal. If Gordon wasn’t up to his eyes in head-cheferry and actually knew what van was doing I’m sure he’d understand why JP was mad.
You could tell Gordon was highly impressed by Heather’s dedication. There’s a lot to learn from in that clip. First, you see her trying to hold it together until she looks at her hand, then begins to panic. Immediately, Gordon directs her attention to him, gets her hand under water, and calms her down, giving her the moment she needs to regain control over herself. Which once she does, she immediately snaps back into that wholly professional mindset. She was helping her crew until the very last second, as she went out the door. That’s impressive.
I would like to remind everyone that, he might not be the chef but JP is the Maître d'Hotel, he's not just a waiter, it's a very prestigious title and a very important role, responsible for the entire front of the restaurant. You won't find a lot of real Maîtres, even in France, but I can tell you JP is it.
Too right. And to work at a Michelin star level for perfectionists like Gordon Ramsay takes a massive amount of trust and skill. People like that are like gold dust.
Yup! You mostly find them in high end restaurants, or restaurants with such a high number of plates and clients that you need a guy to lead the waiters. It's a very important job!
He yells because he's passionate and because it's entertaining, especially in HK since it's supposed to essentially be chef boot camp. But he's always compassionate when he needs to be, it's prob why myself and so many others always come back for more Gordon Ramsay.
@꧁ Western girl ꧂ well not ONLY because it's entertaining lol but they've brought back squads in the past to have competitive services and stuff and Gordon doesn't treat their mistakes nearly as harshly. Maybe it's just cuz he respects them more by then and knows they'll correct it but still, it's an interesting difference. I've also read articles that indicate that off camera he's really not like that lol so I kinda think that it's largely just part of the Gordon tv image. It's why I personally find HK the most entertaining cooking show ever lol. I think it just manifests most especially on this show where he's trying to find/create the strongest chef of the bunch.
5:33 love how Gordon takes it so seriously and not berating her for getting an injury, rather treating her like she was his daughter and speaking gently to keep her calm and making sure she’s okay. Such an amazing guy.
People literally try to tell me “these shows are just him screaming in people’s faces and talking down to them, no one should be treated like that, you can’t talk to another human being like that. Nah dude, this is him trying to put reasoning into their heads, they are smart people but he needs them to learn from their mistakes, not only on Hell’s Kitchen but Kitchen nightmares where yeah, he’s gonna critique the food, but he WANTS to help the crew be successful.

He was laughing at the joke, if you look carefully.
@LuisLopez-sq9fb hey
I'd hire her if I had a restaraunt good enough.
Well the burn wasn't that bad tho

@@NateO123 I doubt he’s yelling for entertainment, but yes I do think he’s passionate for what he does.
