Yeah, those who played F1 fantasy would know. He scored a net negative of points across the whole season because you get -20 for a DNF and he had more than any other driver, even if you add Sargeant and Colapinto together.
It is true that he crashed, but he at least had some good results every now and then, which puts him above those two. But yeah, he's definitely had a season to forget and I think that Sainz is gonna end him next year.
Colapinto! He had no preparation for the second worst car on the grid. He asked for full wets in Sao Paulo but his race engineer refused. His first three races showed his ability. Ricciardo had years of experience and was hopeless most of the time this year (Good at Red Bull, but McLaren paid him to leave!)
Still dont know why Colapinto is on the list, yes he crashed the car but he was promoted with very little experience in F1 Cars and instanty challanged Albon in quali and races and scored points, personally Ricciardo should be here as he did nothing this year after being hyped up at the start of the year that he will be back to his old self but in reality he was nowhere near it.
I think zhou was rather unfortunate to be on the list. The fact that he doesnt get the upgrades bottas does still plays a factor in his quali. Ofc he lacked confidence in corner entry but his race pace is actually good, in fact he also had the 2nd most overtakes on the grid this season, arguably i would put k mag or logan Sargent on bottom 4th instead of zhou. I really hope Zhou can get the cadillac seat and see him in a more competent car

I'm much more forgiving on Colapinto. He showed great pace at times, races at expectation (mediocre) and showed he is still a rookie at challenging tracks/conditions.
Are u seriously saying Kmag lower than Ricciardo and Bottas as well then? Kmag got slapped up by Hulk but the latter had an incredible season and Kmag was very unlucky many times throughout the season and he really stepped it up at the end of the season
Finally a UA-camr who sees the problem with Colapinto. Personally I wouldn’t rate him as low, but I believe his crashing cost him a genuine chance of a seat in 2025. Crashing is just a big issue with the cost cap nowadays. He has huge potential but unfortunately kind of ruined what was otherwise a pretty promising performance with his mistakes.

I don't get why everyone is burning rookies for crashes. They do have the least amount of experience in driving an F1 car, plus they almost always have to drive crappy cars during their rookie season. For sure they tend to do silly mistakes more often than an experienced pair of hands. The problem is, they don't get the time to learn, progress and learn from their mistakes. Look at Colapinto, made a few top-tier performances following by a few crashes, yet the crashes tend to rank heavier than his top performances in everyones mind.
I think stroll has genuinely managed to place in my top worst 5 every season since he started in F1. He always had a few opportunistic/lucky results that made people rate him maybe too high. Now that those kind of results hasn't happened all season. It's painful to look at this stats

How could you put Daniel in that thumbnail with Perez and stroll. Also, bottas was in no way close to this list, he would have scored points early season in a tractor but for pit stop errors. Magnussen objectively had a much poorer season than bottas, demolished by his teammate. All actual listings are valid though.

Thank God I'm not the only one. I've been stressing saying that Perez was easily the worst driver on the grid after Logan left. The way I see it is that if you can say "yup, they're gonna do a bad job." And consistently be right? You have no place in modern F1. Even these other drivers like Zhou, Stroll, Franco, there was always a chance they could have a strong race here and there. There was no such chance for Perez, the best he could give you was a cracking fight against an RB for P8.
The first 4 that came to my mind where Perez, Stroll, Sargeant and Ricciardo. I don’t get how Ricciardo didn’t end up in the list. In my opinion he gets protected way too much for what he did years ago and that’s why he doesn’t get the same criticism like others would if they performed like he did this year.
My 2C: I don't think Logan deserved #1 on this list when it's clear Williams has issues with managing their drivers and both he and Franco did better their first 2 races than the rest of their time with the team. Something about Williams is *taking away* success from their drivers, and Albon's frequent crashes are symptomatic of the same issue while also being evidence that some experience before moving to the team may help. Hopefully Sainz can turn things around by being such a well-established and centered driver that the team won't mismanage him. Perez had a great deal of support from RBR and appears largely responsible for his own failure over multiple years. That seems more egregious than an inexperienced driver in a bad team failing to figure things out despite them.
Checo should be the worst. I know he wasn't the only one who had a rough season, but his highlights were just a few ok races, and otherwise he was outright terrible. He scored 5,75 points per race, so he had an average finishing position of 7th. The stats are even more shocking if we start counting from Imola onwards: 2,61 points per race 😬. So yeah, we can factually say that Checo made that Red Bull look like a midfield car.
Bottas even being debated to be in the top 5 worst is insane. Did he have the best season ever? No. But what was he supposed to do with a car that was on average the worst over the season. Outqualifying zhou 21-3 says enough in my opinion.
I love the honesty here including Franco as one of the worst on the grid. He only ever met what expectations you could have (For example, in Baku Williams had what, the fifth fastest car and where did Franco put it? Right where the car should have been in the points). I forget which crash it was, probably Qatar, but it was the only one of the season where it wasn’t his fault so I don’t blame Franco for that one. However if we’re being fair, everyone blamed Logan for all of his crashes despite most of them being the car giving up or someone else hitting him (see Zandvoort 2023 and Miami 2024, noting the car going on holiday lost him points), so if we do Logan dirty like this then Franco has to be done dirty. Franco just fell way off at the end of the season and he was REALLY costly, doing the same amount of damage as Logan in half the time. To me this season was a one-off for Franco as he knew he needed to impress F1 bosses to get a second shot (so yeah there was actually a lot of pressure on him) and we have to say as the pressure mounted his performances dived off a cliff and ultimately were worse than Logan over the same races. His highs are, I would say, notably higher but his lows are much lower. And for all the Franco fans on here, for the record yes I do believe Franco is better overall than Logan. I challenge you to be objective though, and see that Williams gained literally nothing, absolutely nothing, from replacing Logan and using Franco. They didn’t gain a spot in the Constructor’s and got double the damage bill from the second Williams driver.
Aldas who do you think was worse overall between Latifi and Sargeant?? Cause Latifi scored much more points in often worse cars but he used to crash even more I think.
I can say that Bottas isn't really that amazing driver. But even that same race that Zhou got points, team ruined that race for Bottas. Changed hard tires while that Bottas and Zhou having good phase with medium. And Zhou was almost on same situation as Giovinazzi. Giovinazzi could not win Kimi that well at all to show his skills. Zhou had the same as he could not beat Bottas that consistent. Basically it needed more luck than anything else. Even team itself ruined the both drivers on this point.
All of these lists, you see Daniel and Valterri out of the 5 worst, Checo has been on all. I think these two have been hard done by 😢 I get their time was coming to end but sighhh
daniel Ricciardo should be on this list as he sucked this season. shouldn't have been driving. Also Perez won't get dropped as Tsunoda will not get promoted and Lawson i don't think will get a seat from only 6 races
People placing Zhou above Stroll is genuinely insane. Zhou has conclusively performed worse against Bottas than Stroll has against Alonso, in pretty much every metric that holds value (and Bottas himself has had a far weaker season than Alonso) So much of this simply just comes down to people loving to hate on Stroll, while being much more indifferent or favourable towards Zhou. Zhou, unarguably, performed worse than Stroll throughout this season, and frankly even had a worse deficit to his teammate than Sargeant had to Alex Albon
Zhou only performed badly in qualifying against Bottas this season. He was much closer in the races despite having a lower specced car and one that is already clearly the slowest car on the grid. He also hardly made any unforced errors. Zhou has also been the driver closest to scoring for Sauber prior to Qatar (China, 9th in sprint, Bahrain, 11th in race). Stroll is in arguably the 5th or 6th fastest car on the grid, has been clearly behind Alonso and made numerous fairly rookie errors, notably crashing randomly in China, or beaching himself, or crashing into someone and blaming others. And this was not just one season, he's been like this for the last few seasons already.
Zhou only did bad in qualifying, in the races he was much better and closer to Bottas and when it mattered scored the points for the team. Lance however had a car that could score points but he didn't score any after Hungary and kept making essentially rookie errors throughout the season.
