  • Overview of some of the highlights and low lights of our recent barn build. This is a wish list of what we would have wanted to see a video on before we built ours.
We enjoyed the process of building this barn but it was MUCH more work than we would have expected. In this video we give you an overview of how the build went and ideas of what you should avoid if doing this for yourself. We are no experts but we offer this as simply a guide to what we did. You are welcome to copy anything you like.
We used a "biscuit" in the bottom of our hole for our posts and we also put in 2-4 bags of quick crete. We might have used another method if we would have had more time to research.
We used a 2x10 front window from menards (cheaper) on the road side. Normally would use Anderson but just couldn't justify the additional expense in this use. We used 2-10x14 garage doors. For us, one was insulated and one was not. We also have another door that is 8x18. We used 2 man doors from Menards for our exterior steel doors.
We used LED lights that our electrical contractor suggested. We used pelonis heat pumps from Menards and used a Hotdawg LP garage style heater we purchased through our HVAC contractor.
We used a hoop from ProDunk and is their only wall mounted unit. We wired for a few exterior lights (3) and several interior ones. We have 6 in the court end and 5 in the storage end as well.

You built a second barn right next to it? Why not just make one barn that is wider?

Perfect video guys. Im working on a gym right now that is going to be 40x45. Couple questions i have for you. Does those 3 or 4 AC wall units work well for ya in the summer time? Lighting, lighting i am worried about? What lights do you recommend? If you have a email that you wouldnt mind sharing with me that would be great. GREAT VIDEO

It stays cool inside the facility in northern indiana without much ac. We could have EASILY gotten by with 2 units. We thought we would use as heat much of the year also but the LP heater is just more efficient.
Lighting, we used 6 led style hanging hard wired lights. Our electrician bought off amazon. We could have got by with 4 and avoided the area right above the hoop. It is pretty light in there. We have a friend who did cans (many) and it isnt enough.
Email is in the details of the vid if you want to reach out.

Great video! Curious - what's the ceiling height?

It is 16' with scissors style trusses. At the peak, it might be 20'? Not sure exactly. Walls are 16' though. I would do 18' if doing a flat roof style truss.

Missing the floor the most crucial part to make it a legit indoor court , also you did great but why not put the hoop in the center with a even reveal to you court space so both 3 point wings have room and your not running into the wall on accident, other that that you killed it I know it’s way harder than it seems, great job ! ❤

      I meant 3 point corners

Hoop in the center would take up more space. We are only about 2' off the wall. Would stick out way more and we would have less room behind the 3 point line if we used another style. This wall mount hoop is the best way to max the space. Our land only allowed for a barn that was 32' wide max. We had to cut something to utilize the space we had.
We do run into the wall on occasion. It does stink. Wish we could have afforded two lots and gone much bigger but I we didnt have more cash to dump into this project.
The floor was tough for us. As long as you keep the humidity down, this floor is nice. A real wood court floor would have cost us well over 50k. Just tough to justify that knowing my heavy use will only be as a court for about 10 more years. The crete will allow for options down the road.

    Nice! Total cost?

I have another video on the full cost breakdown but without land it was AROUND 120k ish. That DOESNT include any contracting fee. I did that myself. I would guess 150k in my area would be what I would pay if built for me. Every area of country will be different of course.

Earth is Flat ✅. Job 38:14 (KJV) It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

Yes it is flat imo. Genesis 1 proves all science is a lie! Light doesnt come only from the sun. So many issues biblically with a curved ball shape that is hurling around. Makes no sense.
