  • In our opinion, this is one of the most unique and fun to shoot firearm available to Canadians. It shoots a low recoil 32 ACP projectile that is easily kept on target while still giving the shooter a pleasant recoil impulse. There are a lot of different versions, manufactures and calibers that you can find. You can pick these up from around $650-$800.

    I'm in the US and got the chance to shoot one of these in full auto last year. It's just way too much fun. Watching the cases flying out the top is I have to admit very cool. :)
    Yep, I want one.

    It would have been brought in by the importer as a non-pistol "commericial version" and submitted as so to the RCMP for classification in order to skirt the prohibition on .32 and .25 calibre handguns.
    If it was brought in as a "handgun" then it would be prohibited, not restricted. Having it as a "commercial version" or basically a carbine/short barrelled rifle (legally) allows it to be sold/imported BUT gives it a 5 round magazine limit as all semi automatic centre fire firearms are supposed to.

    Remember 32 cal pistols are prohibited here that's why it's a 5 round mag.

      +Russell Houghton (Russ303) good call, still drives me nuts with the Canadian firearm laws. Thanks for your input!

      So...that's why it's not prohibited even though it fires the ghastly overpowered .32! It's not a pistol. Check. Do they have a long barrelled, non-restricted with the phoney barrel shroud?

    • @hedsy
      @hedsy 7 років тому +2

      No. Restricted only.
      You can find these in 22lr with a 20rnd mag. It's nice because it is a restricted "rifle" not a pistol so there is no mag cap on Rimfire cartridges and it's not pinned to 5. Or 10 if it was a "pistol".

    I came really close to buying one of these a while back. Can't remember why I didn't now. Looks like a lot of fun!

    Very cool looking gun, in my country you can find it with the stock and 2 20 rounds mag for $400 used and new for $500, incredible price, at least for me :D

    Great video. Just pre ordered the new version in .22LR a caliber much more common than .32 or .380 up here

      I'm thinking of ordering one, if they don't sell out before I make up my mind. Does the 22LR version really have 20 round mags, not pinned or anything? That makes it all the more tempting.

    • @hedsy
      @hedsy 7 років тому

      Yes. They are 20rnd mags. Rimfire rifles do no have a mag capacity limit unlike a pistol. These are registered as restricted rifles. Welcome to Canada lol

    :40 .32 acp is not an intermediate cartridge. It is a small pistol cartridge.

    So if they sold it without the stock, and sold the stock separate, would it be a pistol? Because it would be nice to have 10 rounds.

    • @XraygogsTV
      @XraygogsTV 8 років тому

      +LEECHESANDCREAM It would then be prohibited because of barrel length. The only reason this firearm got by the RCMP was because someone decided to call it a "carbine"

      if it were a pistol it would be phrohib based on caliber. 25 and 32acp pistols are a no go here

    Here in the states we're not allowed to have it with the stock on it, because or out retarded short-barreled rifle laws. You have to apply for a special license, and then you have to have an adapter to be put on the back of the firearm, it's a real hassle.

    Thanks for this video. I just bought a VZ61 in .22LR from Ellwood Epps, they had two. I should receive it this week. Do you know of a way to stop the marring of the finish on the receiver done by the cocking pins?Tommy.

    Is the stock comfortable? The LOP looks way too short for a human being.

  • @takomerp
    @takomerp 8 років тому +1

    People here shoot the original .32 acp Skorpion by resting it against their cheek. It's unnatural, I know, but because of the low powered cartridge it didn't even give me a bruise nor was it uncomfortable.

    • @takomerp
      @takomerp 8 років тому +1

      Resting the stock against their cheek, I meant.

  • @Petr1331
    @Petr1331 4 роки тому

    You should rest the holster on your cheecks, that’s how was it meant. There is no recoil. Than you have no problem with sights.

    • @CanFirearmsReview
      @CanFirearmsReview  8 років тому +1

      This classified as restricted. One, if not the only 32 acp classified as such.

    • @Sagaris380
      @Sagaris380 8 років тому

      +CanFirearmsReview Oh ok. So did the RCMP declassify 32acp because I thought the ammo its self was prohib? or because you own a restricted 32acp then your exempt from that? Thanks. great review.
