- This is my 2024 movie review of Kill, the newest Bollywood movie that premiered at Fantastic Fest last year. Leave your kill reviews and reactions down below.
When army commando Amrit (Lakshya) finds out his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the ruthless Fani (Raghav Juyal) begin to terrorize innocent passengers on his train, Amrit takes them on himself in a death-defying kill-spree to save those around him - turning what should have been a typical commute into an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride.

Austin reviewing kill wow, all actors in this movie are newcomers, most of them built their career from Indian TV shows, so, it is nice for them receiving international recognition
Kill was released at "Fantastic Fest" (in US) last year. So, it already had the international buzz before getting released for the Public this year.
Ashish Vidhyarthi isn't a new comer though. He's done movies.
All of them aren’t newcomers Lakshya is.
The main character wasn't just supposed to be in the army. He was in the NSG(National Security Guard). That's an Indian counter-terrorism unit.
And they are trained to KILL
The nsg is part of Indian army lol it was special force.
Who told you, it's a part of ministry of home affairs, so it's not , yeep para sf , garuda , marcos are @@SurajMandal-lj6hc
@@SurajMandal-lj6hc It's not you abs0lute ch0mu. NSG comes under home ministry lavdasur!
@@SurajMandal-lj6hc I wonder how people spew absolute random and nonsensical stuff with such utter confidence. I am boggled to say the least. And what's with the lol in the end? Sold both shame & brains on the market?
Bud please at least look up stuff when you do not know about something. And no, being unnecessarily mocking doesn't come off as cool no matter how you do it.
NSG is a special anti-terror force, directly under the Ministry of Hone Affairs. It includes recruits from all sorts of forces but primarily Central Armed Police Forces. And no, it ain't a sub-unit of the Indian Army. It functions as a federal contingency unit.
austin got no chill in reviewing indian films..and i'm glad you watched this movie..keep going man👍
So good
The scene where the goons were going through pile of hanging dead bodies 😬Looked like a horror maze
Director of john wick bought the rights of this movie to make a Hollywood remake
We talk about that on movie mode! Definitely have some… thoughts lol
Another garbage remake smh
@@bronsonvigilante9178 😆
@@bronsonvigilante9178 Avg Jealous American hater...
What I think is that the title card came when the protagonist decided that now he is going to 'Kill' everyone. Before the title he killed no one.
I regret not seeing this instead of the total Borefest called Quiet Place Day One.
They are not just Army, they are NSG commandos commonly known as the Black cats. One of the elite, highly trained branches of the Indian armed forces. NSG is like the British SAS or the German GSG.
The funeral dialogue is even better in Hindi itself. It translates more precisely as "they'll get out of this train, but on 4 shoulders".
Hold onto your seat, hands down the absolute best bloody action movie EVER. Saw it 4 times on Wed, just got done watching it for the 1st time today, starts in 30 minutes.
bishnu shrestha fought with 40 robbers in a train from ranchi to save a girl who was going to be raped in front of everyone in train, he was a Indian soilder from gurkha regiment, He killed three of them in the fight and injured eight others. The remaining robbers got scared of Bishnu's brave attack and fled the scene. this movie is based on real event with just movie plots.
I just saw this movie at the cinema today, and I loved it. I haven't seen an original action film that good in a long time. I loved it when the main hero went into Super Saiyan mode and just went berserk on the bandits.
India have the same potential as hollywood industry we just have less audience for raw action or new genres but new audiences r now want new genres
Hope we can spread the word!
@@AustinBurke kalki already crooses 800cr in just a spand of 9 days which is huge it will cross 1000cr in 12 days definitely
@@AustinBurkeas an action film its really good. But its a little too long but also i needed more character meat. 8/10
We do but the problem is that a lot of filmmakers cave in to the masses and try to commercialize every single movie with some unnecessary jokes or a romantic sub plot. Hopefully this movie can change it.
@@AustinBurkeplease watch Animal
A lot of people compare this to John Wick or The Raid movies, but I feel it’s closer to The Night Comes For Us.
Definitely has elements of all those movies
John wick is garbage , only young people like john wick because they re ignorant about action movies history
Hollywood can remake this movie, but I won’t see it. I’ve already seen in it!
He was not just a common soilder, he was a NSG commando. you should google about it.
The hero , was in the NSG (National security guard) , which is a special force in army ......they are made to deal with such difficult circumstances that an NSG commando is said to kill a person without a weapon (with just bare hands ) within 5-6 seconds.......and the hero actually went to the training centre of NSG to prepare and understand their approaches in such situations.....
All the reviews I've seen for Kill say there was no one else in the cinema. There were only two other people in the cinema when I saw it. It's a shame because it really is an exceptional action movie and it really is up there with the very best of American action movies i.e. the John Wick series. It makes Bullet Train look like a bunch of shite.
Only 3 when I watched it
There was a a real incident where an army jawan had confronted robers in a moving train some years ago
Bishnu Shresta.
This movie was great. Just saw it last night and had a blast.
Just came out from it. So much more heart than any action film I've seen in a long time.
i am so glad and happy that you loved kill, The Title Card Was Placed At The Perfect Spot & Glad People Are Talking it, and you guys rightly said the thing about the villain gang was they also had their fair share of character development and a really good moral conflict, they are not just simple strainght arrow villains, they have honour, support for the piers etc etc and they are highly emotional charged up as well along with our lead, and thank god for that they wrote the villains really good as well, and the lead actor lakshya who played amrit took 9 months of training for the film and when you see his bare body without his shirt scene, he did not drink water for 3 days before filming that particular scene. and at the dharma productions youtube channel you can see a video on how they build the set & the train for the film. the brutal scenes where just so thrilling to watch and also they were innovative as well that made it special and they never repeated any stunts so everytime you see something unique and the thanks for mentioning the sound design as well, it was so well done with each kill and entry shorts loved it very much and the background score was just pumping you up for carnage that is about to happen, i enjoyed it so much, and also the camera work was really good. as they spend some time on the more shocking scenes which was nicely edited. this was Lakshya's debut film as the lead, The Opening 10 mins was needed to build the emotional connection between the couple so you get connected to them and when the twist happens, it hits you in the heart,
here is a few interesting details about the film and some final thoughts on your comments on the film, you made my day!!
150 litres of fake blood was used in the film and the core idea behind kill came from a real life incident experienced by the director when he was a student on the train and a family of dacoits gang had robbed his neighbouring Coach and his coach had 2 army soldiers with them, but the next morning they got to know about it and he talked to the army officers and they told him that if the dacoits had come to their coach, they would have beaten them easily
Every Knife Had A Name - So The Prosthetics Head of The Film, Needed to know the size of the knife 4 months before shooting the film, as he wanted to know whose cheek or eyes this knife is going to go, name of the person and how will it travel from the villains to the heroes and vice versa, and they had to map it 4 months in advance. A Total of 52 different knives were meticulously crafted and each member of the gang had fighting styles tailored to their individual characters ans story arcs.
the script contained every action movement down to its minute detail & it took 1 and half years to complete the script & sound design took 3 months,
some deleted scenes from the edit & script level -
this one they shot and cut it out, he killed a person with a door, but he did not die, he then had to pull him out, take him to a window and kept punching him till his brains popped off
in wash room sequence there where 2 more people he burnt alive, he kept the zippo lighter inverted and the fluid was flowing down, he kept the door open and when the came near the door, he pushed them inside and threw a burning object and shut the door and they were burnted alive,
the director had a huge back problem when they were shooting the film so he could not stand up for more than few mins, he would direct the actors then lie down of the bed beside the monitor and gudie the whole production but he never took a day off while shooting the film
Why The Villains Gang Feared And The Passengers Respected The Army Comment Was Because in India Our Soldiers Are Training in All The Different Fighting Styles And They Can Litterally Kill Bad Guys with the same amount of passion as shown in the film, and we know how tough army personnel are in india so that's why the passangers feel safe around them and the villain just fear them.
Indian Movies Have A Style Of Expressing Emotions, character connections and feelings in that particular moment through songs, it's like how american, korean, anime has their own unique styles of film making, the saw way we do and songs have helped a lot to make us connect to those characters and i agree that it does not work all the time, but the accuracy is on the much higher level, we are used to it so i understand for your guys it will be cheesey but in a good way but you will get used to it.
As SS Rajamouli - The Director of RRR said - if there is no emotion backing the action then you will not feel the action scenes in more deeper way. if the emotional states are high and personal then you will connect to the action even more, whatever the emotion may be. and that's what makes kill and even john wick so special for us
about the main villain guy who played fani, his name is raghav juyal and he is a dancer turned actor
Well said. Very informative. I loved this movie and recommend it to everyone. It's available on V.O.D.
There's a great Australian martial arts action movie "Life After Fighting" which has some of the best fight choreography of the year that I've seen and I've seen plenty of bangers this year that's up there as my top contender, but Kill, One Percenter, and One More Shot with Scott Adkins are definitely behind it as well.
Bishnu Shrestha *a Gurkha soldier who fought against the train Dacoits* 2 September 2010
Bro, i was shivering after watching it. literally i have never ever seen something like this before.
Thanks to watch indian cinema ❤
One of the best brutal violence action movie till date...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Guys this movie is inspired by true events but not of the director's, pls read about the legendary Gorkha who cut 40 goons in a moving train "Bishnu Shrest". Even the knife used is the famous weapon of the Gorkha regiment "kurki".
Bro you need to know more about NSG Commandos. They are brutal. It's like the American version of SEALs.
Correction:इंडियन version of seals 😊
Ryan* being bald was such a jumpscare for me 😂 looks great on him just not what I pictured
Did you mean Ryan? Ha
@@rewatchryan Yes lol I think I was talking to my wife about the new Zach Bryan album just before I wrote this comment and had a brain fart lol

its not john wick on the train its more like
Nobody movie, hero in his prime.
Truly a NEW ACTION HERO, #Lakshya, has arrived! Hoping for a sequel for this! [It's possible!]
Well put. Can't wait. See this in theatres please!
5:35 he is not just in the army, he is an NSG commando. Commandos are the elite soldiers who go through tougher training. That's what he says in hindi that he is a commando, maybe lost in the translation.
Awesome review thanks again. Tinseltown my favorite place to take the wife and kids when we have a movie night
This is inspired from a real event where a indian soldier fought 40 thugs killed 3 and injured 8
He was shown from NSG which is one of the elite special forces in India. Its kinda like Delta Force or Seal 6 from US
so you are telling me the two best action movies in 2024 are Indian movies wow bravo India cinema, i remember when redemption came out i hope they continue the good work.
Is the podcast on UA-cam?
UA-cam and all audio platforms :)
Now you should check out Animal next!
He was in NSG that's like special forces
yah easily the best action movie of the year. was surreal. essentially raid redemption on a train imo.
I think you should check BGMs made by Anirudh, if you want to experience more blood pumping music
When are you doing your spoiler video on Kalki?
Check out our Movie Mode podcast! We did a 90 one there, so I figured I would stick with that lol
@@AustinBurke okay
Stop systematically comparing every action film to John Wick, it's annoying. ACTION CINEMA EXISTED LONG BEFORE JOHN WICK. John Wick didn't invent anything. This generation is so ignorant that its only reference in terms of action films is John Wick. It's so distressing
The most active action movie of the year ❤❤❤ i really loved it just like john wick this was my favourite one
MAHOOL PICS. BEST BOLLYWOOD MOVIES.
This is real story
i enjoyed when the 2 older ladies started to fight back....😀👍
Well their son died
Blockbuster movie must watch ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What happened to the Horizon review?
Is the movie in english?
With subtitles only
I know this movie is shorter than 99% of indian movies but does it still have an intermission block?
That's the title-drop they are talking about. Instead of saying "Intermission," it says "KILL".
Happens ~40 min. into the movie.
@@KindlingEffectThanks bro🙌
Plz go see The GOAT on September 5th, make sure it's in Tamil not Hindi
Die Hard on a train.
It's the Raid on train
Not even similar in any way
Yeh story ek gorkha bishnu shrestha ki hai
So it was Bullet Train mixed with Monkey Man(-ish) in a nutshell
Similar! But somehow different! Lol
But better
Watch Animal movie next!
Piss like a race horse?😮 I loved it though. The movie I mean.
5:25 "we had an empty theater, but we had each other atleast" 💀
Better than Furiousa?
Better than furiosa bcoz action and the movie setting are more realistic
Different.
*Furiosa:* Cool cars & explosions, set in an epic grim-dark, sci-fi world that was originally created by Miller.
*Kill:* Brawls in claustrophobic spaces, set in the present times and inspired by a true story of a Gurkha soldier who fought and killed 40 bandits who highjacked a speeding train he happened to be on.
*Both:* Fun to watch.

I saw. Nothing special in it. Like another cheep masala type south indian movie.
@@NaveenJain-bi2wj Ya'll deserve expensive masterpieces like ADIPURUSH
It was meh.
1. People who are not accustomed to the blr/India mess culture, south Indian bar culture won't feel anything at all.
2. Fahad's ADHD character gets boring very fast.
I have seen better south indian movies than this.
