    Thanks guys. An informative video. I recently bought a 541 Corvair so it was especially relevant. I look forward to watching some of your content.

    Wife just found you guys. We also followed the "Sparky's" around Australia, and also just upgraded to a 457 (2011).

    Loving the trip and presentation style. My UA-cam TIAV replacement😮. Really like the van and have started looking at the coromals to purchase.
    Just really need to know your opinion on the dust in the van When travelling dirt roads.

      Thanks mate we really appreciate that!
      We love the van it's soo good. It does get some dust in but nothing too serious. We've now done the Gibb river road aswell and it really didn't get to much dust in at all. That being said we don't have anything to compare it too. I'm sure the modern day vans with the electric fan dust system ect are pretty good at keeping it out!
      shoot us a message on instagram if you have any other questions about the van, happy to help out if we can 👌
      Cheers

    Hi those vents in the door are for gas compliance so if you have a gas leak you don't die . Stay safe happy travelling.

    Loving watching your videos. Its great to see some down to earth families out there living the dream. I am planning a trip to WA next year and getting some great ideas from watching your videos. Correct me if I am wrong, but with your fridge switch install, I am sure it must be attached to the floor and not a wall to allow correct operation of the sensor inside? I installed one behind my fridge & I'm pretty sure the label has to face upwards & the unit positioned on the floor (or at least horizontal). Is yours working OK in the position you have it in? Keep up the great work. Cheers. Dave

      Thanks mate!
      WA is amazing! There's so much to see. 👌
      I'm not sure about the fridge switch! It seems to be working as it should, the little led comes on and off 🤷 I better look into it abit further tho because I really can't remember what I read when I installed it 😂 thanks for letting me know and cheers for watching!

    What do these vans sell for used ? And how much was the new hitch? Thanks for the videos

    • @WhileWereYoung.
      @WhileWereYoung.  Рік тому

      Hey mate, cheers for watching. You'll probably find them in the ball park of $30k depending on their condition and modifications. The new hitch set us back about $1k with installation.

    Filling the higher tank is slow ,increase the size of the breather pipe [diameter] to this tank will fix it ,all caravan manufacturers have no idea about the way liquids or air moves in closed Hydraulic systems ,you as a plumber should know this ,i had a similar issue with mine and it,s fixed now no probs filling up now and im just a lowly sparky.

    • @WhileWereYoung.
      @WhileWereYoung.  2 роки тому

      Yeah it's not an issue with the breather, the bottom tank wasn't put in from factory, it was cut in as an after thought the feed to the tanks isn't a hydraulic (pressurised feed) it's an open pipe that you just gravity feed water into. So it breaths through there plus a breather on the tank. If it was a pressurised system it would work fine as u said 👌 so basically I can either separate the gravity feed inlets or add a connection to force feed it in. 👍

    Hi mate , I'm looking for my first caravan , looked at jayco outbacks but I'm a bit worried about spending a couple of months in a pop top during rain and wind ect.. and now looking at coromal vans but don't know much about vans,,, budget is 10k maybe 15k

    • @WhileWereYoung.
      @WhileWereYoung.  Рік тому

      Hey mate to he honest we don't know a hole lot about caravans either this is our first van and it's been great. I guess with vans it all comes down to compromises like a full size van is more comfortable in the rain and wind but is harder to tow into different camps and cost you more in fuel. One thing at the start that was a little tricky for us was regulating the temperature in the poptop when we were up in Mt kosiosko and stuff but we were also really conscious about it because we had a newborn in the van. If it was just us we wouldn't have been overly worried about it. But yeah there's always some type of compromise between the different van styles.
      Our van used cost us around the 30k mark but u can pick up cheaper ones for sure (we bought at the start of covid when second hand vans were super expensive 😅)
      From memory the hitch was not overly expensive like around 1k installed? But don't quote me on that because I can't really remember now.
      Cheers

    That suspension is not idipendant it,s leaf suspension with a torsion bar incorporated .

    • @WhileWereYoung.
      @WhileWereYoung.  2 роки тому

      Oh righto fair enough 👍. Each wheel moves independently of the other wheel? As opposed to the wheels being joined together by an axle 🤷

    • @andrewmorgan4306
      @andrewmorgan4306 2 роки тому

      I don,t wont to be a know all yes the wheels move indipendantly ,but it has limitations , i have a 94 Sepreme full off road c,van which has a full indipentant suspension with a A frame trailing arms suspension with shock absorbers and it works exceptionally well ,any way have a great lap around oz ,i,ll keep watching and i like that you,re doing it on a fair budjet and don,t have all the bells and whistles as you don,t nead them too have a great time and live on the road.

    • @WhileWereYoung.
      @WhileWereYoung.  2 роки тому

      Yeah it absolutely has its limitations hahaa we've found those a few times, just figured it was called independent suspension because it moved independently, but your right it doesn't have the shocks and stuff which would make a huge difference I'd think! Cheers appreciate you watching! And also the feedback. We are Def learning as we go 👌

    • @bradleygray7435
      @bradleygray7435 2 роки тому

      You are 100% right mate it’s called independent knee suspension. Not at all a torsion bar setup. They tow great 👍
