Jayco do come with support poles according to my dealer for the later models . I made some poles with broom stick and rubber end caps for my earlier unit . Cables can be inspected for frayed strands . Also for max stretch ie no adjustment left . Some pulleys can be seen worn or detach .

Cheers mate! One of the springs popped out of the channel that it runs through causing a bit of a chain reaction, bending the channel and then snapping one of the cables
What you have here is a worst nitemare with a windup . Same thing happened to me on a maiden trip with a Jayco swift. Fortunately, a gentleman loaned me a tent for the night . Now I carry a small tent in case it happens again. . The equipment in the van is still useable and this will get you out of trouble . Try the mobile caravan repair guys . They are a bit more accommodating.

G'day Guys, had to happen soon or later with a cable set up, I remember being at Coral Bay and a single mum with a few kids had the same probs, we managed to find some 2x4" stakes to hold it up to buy time to sort something out as they were staying for awhile. Dont you have 4 poles that goes in each corner. This universal for all windups. How dangerous not to use the poles.
Poles don’t come from factory in either Jayco or Goldstream poptops.
No its a common problem getting in to repair places for c'vans. Its a two month wait where I am south of Sydney.
