God love you, 5 years on the road, you lovelies are living our dream. It’s so nice to see you both so comfortable with your chosen lifestyle. Cheers Marg & Steve
Wow, just found you guys, I'm a retired Motor mechanic after 55 years.on the tools. My wife Vilkki is a casual 2 days a week, pharmacy assistant. Been caravanning for 3 years. Just caravan parks at this stage. Keep up the great work, Well done.
Great tips, thanks. We put a blow heater in the ensuite and hang damp clothes in there with the door shut. Everything dries very quickly and becomes a very efficient drying room😊
That's a great idea, but a blow heater uses a lot more power. We camp unpowered most of the time. Your idea is perfect when you are on a powered site. 👍😃
So good to see you lovely people again and sharing your great little tips we mostly all know about these things but it just reminds us to keep up , thank you and keep on enjoying your journey 😊
Our pleasure! We need to remind ourselves that not everyone has been camping or caravaning for years, so basic info is beneficial sometimes. Thanks for watching 😃👍
Love the tips and commonsense ideas. Looks like you have been enjoying your trip. We have just retired and looking to do more although been caravaning for some time. A tip for caravaners with a pop top we had previously, I made a pvc electrical conduit tool to release awning and to pull down roof clips so you dont have to get a ladder out all the time.( I am a bit of a shortarse so necessity made me use my brain.) Good luck with your travels and thanks for a good video.
Great tips there, we are between vans at the moment, while we have a new house built (downsizing) the search for another van will begin around April, just fund your channel,
Thanks so much for your video really great tips for camping, I'm just doing my last job and I can then retire 😊 , using half an awning on a windy day was something I had not thought of, you can teach an old dog new tricks, hopefully I may see you on the road, cheers and thanks again Andy and scruff 😉🐶
Some great handy tips, thank you for sharing. My husband Geoff and I have a You Tube channel called Aussie Wanderers Safe travels. Cheers Jenny and Geoff
Question regarding polishing solar panels , wondering why as usually it’s a big no as polish is an inhibitor to production of solar input . Love your videos
Hi what sort of polish do you use to polish your solar panels, have seen others doing and wondering what its purpose is as my understanding you couldnt use like cleaning products etc for keeping them clean, Thankyou.
a question please.... I see you mostly stay in the unpowered section ...... how do you go for water? do you sometimes have water taps available ? do you have to fill containers and empty onto the van tanks? just wondering how it all works.... thanks
Hi Steve, in unpowered sections of caravan parks they usually let you fill your tank before setting up or when leaving (if needed.) When free camping we search the WikiCamps app for water fill points, we don’t have a problem finding water, but we are very careful to not use too much. Our water can last us over a week if needed. (170 litres)
Just ya channel and watched you cleaning ya solar panel. Was it a dry cloth you were using? If so wouldn't that scratch the glass? I always use a damp microfibre cloth
I’m really wanting to swap my heavy and warped laminated ensuite door out for the polycarbonate! ❤ Who does that? A cabinet maker or a glaziers that make shower screens please? I have seen the polycarbonate panels at Bunnings.
We did it ourselves. Have not heard of anyone getting it done professionally. Bought the polycarbonate from Bunnings. You need to disassemble the shower screen in the van as it’s too big to get out the door. Polycarbonate is slightly narrower than the glass, so seal well.
Our solar panel get cleaned when it rains LOL. Some good tips, we have spent many years onn the road both full time and part time and you came up with some great ideas that never occured to us :) What reversing camera are you using, we have one on our Coaster / Trailer setup but it used to lose signal and the rear camera has died so it is time to replace it and I want to find one that has good range so that it doesn't cut out (assuming yours is wireless but I guess it might not be).
Thanks for watching. Our rear view camera is hard wired, so can’t help you with recommending a good wireless option, although we hear that Safety Dave make good products.
We use WikiCamps app to find water taps. We don’t have a problem finding water, even in the outback. Sometimes you have to pay via water stations, but that is rare.
It is a bit tricky. The water droplet is the icon, but it is often just showing public toilets. The icon is not specifically for water taps, but if you click on them all and read details, many of them show potable water, or taps that are not clearly visible.
That’s great if it works for you, but i hate it when i have a mouthful of toothpaste only to find out i need to turn the pump on 😆 We find this way works best for us 😃
Hey I’ve got a much better and safer way to clean a reverse camera. Grab a broom or broom handle, wrap a microfibre cloth around top of the handle and secure it with double sided Velcro. I use this frequently. I just use a 1200x22mm timber dowel from Bunnings
Old school people with a good old fashioned imagination, good to see some of the old tricks 👍
From one old school to another 😆 Thanks for watching 😃
This is actually the most helpful video ive seen so far. Love the cable tie on the awning lock. Thanks for the tips
Thanks for the huge compliment. Thanks for watching, and tell your friends about us too 😜😃👍
I'll second that and subbed as well.
Thanks 😃
So cool guys. I'm 64 and have decided to buy a van and live-travel in it for the foreseeable future. 😀
That’s exciting!
God love you, 5 years on the road, you lovelies are living our dream. It’s so nice to see you both so comfortable with your chosen lifestyle. Cheers Marg & Steve

Wow! How coincidental. Glenn was a motor mechanic, and Vicki was (is) a pharmacy assistant! Welcome and thanks for watching. 😃👋

Of course! Only on 240v…..😊
I simply love that fold-down miniature wine glass table on the rear bumper that Glenn got for you Vicki! "Its all about the wine"👌🍷 (Matti)
Two uses 😂🥂🍾

Thanks for the video. Just wondering how you mounted the ammo boxes on the rear bar
Drilled a hole in the bottom, then used the Jerry can holder ubolts & nuts. 👍

Just getting into carvanning so look forward to what you to share
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your new caravan 👍
Question regarding polishing solar panels , wondering why as usually it’s a big no as polish is an inhibitor to production of solar input . Love your videos
Interesting? We knew wax was a no no, polish is more friendly as it doesn’t cause a build up.
These are great ideas. I am interested in your collapsible ladder. With our new van my 3 step ladder is too short. Where did you get it from.
It was an eBay purchase many years ago
Thank you!👍
You're welcome!
Excellent ideas
Thanks a lot
Top ideas, well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Glen & Vicki what apps do you use to find the great camping spots you stay at? Thanks Wendy
We use WikiCamps. Couldn’t be without it.
We just found you two love your tips we've pushed the sub and like button hopefully bump into you one day cheers
Awesome! Thank you! And we hope to run into you one day too 😃
Excellent thankyou
You are very welcome 😃
Hi what sort of polish do you use to polish your solar panels, have seen others doing and wondering what its purpose is as my understanding you couldnt use like cleaning products etc for keeping them clean, Thankyou.
I use Bowdens Own ‘Boss Gloss’ or ‘Fully Slick’ product as they are hydrophobic, just makes it a little bit easier to clean next time.
Very good tips. Pity we don't have a caravan to put them into practise, but some I can implement in our forward fold.
That’s still helpful then 😃 Thanks for watching
@@happycampersaustralia Oh yes...
Great video! Would love to know where you got the ladder from please :)
Purchased from EBay. Extendable ladder. 👍😃
What sort of polish ,on solar panels? Loved this short and sweet gem of an episode.
Glad you liked the video. Glenn loves the Bowdens range of products, he uses Fully Slick, or Boss Gloss on the panels.
Where did you buy the metal step for the back bar to clean the camera
Ovesco . They are a truck step.
Some great hacks there 👍
Thanks love the video great ideas I will put them to good use 😊
You are so welcome! 😃
Great video! How did you mount the amo boxes to the rear drawbar ?
Through the Jerry can holder mounts. Can’t put a photo on this reply, but we can email or PM
you a pic if you need it. Cheers
@@happycampersaustralia a photo would be great
@@michelleholcroft3966 Can you PM our Happy Campers Australia Facebook or Instagram, and we can reply on there 😃

I always use a damp microfibre cloth
It was a wet👍 chamois
That was awesome
Glad you enjoyed it 😃👍

EBay years ago
Hi guys love the show. Just wondering if you guys have done governors genarals corner
Surveyor Generals Corner? Corner of SA, NT and WA, no we haven’t
Thanks
Guys where do you get your fresh? Water from

In regards to water pump switch.
We when we use the water pump we turn it on and when finished turn it off
We never leave pump on when not using water
That’s great if it works for you, but i hate it when i have a mouthful of toothpaste only to find out i need to turn the pump on 😆 We find this way works best for us 😃

Glad you liked the video. Jet Boil can be purchased from any camping or outdoors store 😀
