  • The 1.19 snapshots have introduced some gamechanging mechanics involving minecarts. In this video we explore a potential use in what is to become Minecrafts fastest shulker box unloader that does not delete the box.

    Awesome work!! Very cool unloader! I did want to clarify some things, though.
    The unstacker shown at 0:25 was made by Hexatron!
    Also, Firigion made a video explaining the mechanics of the cart yeeter, however most preliminary research was conducted by Crec_0 and 2no2name. I independently made the cart yeeter design.
    Nit picky stuff, great video regardless :P
    Also, I did want to add, I sincerely thank you for the cart related videos recently. Makes me super happy that there is an increased interest in cart tech!! I hope the community continues to grow :)

    3:31 hey actually you could have gave the fencegate a constant power and closed it using your hand. That way it'll have "Powered: True" and "Opend: False" block states. That way it'll stay closed as long as that constant is powering the fence gate even if you power it from any other direction.
    I hope that this explanation was... explanatory? Sorry my english isn't all that good

    Have you tried this on mixed content shulkers like from hermitcraft? I was curious if the hopper minecarts behave as item stack filters as they fill up, not sure if that's a useful behaviour, but could be an interesting side effect?

    • @vlad2305m

    • @lozzo11omg111
      @lozzo11omg111 10 місяців тому

      @@Gamerswell That's a fair question. I feel it would be more of a problem behaviour than a useful one. As the hopper minecarts fill will 5 unique item types you could either see a severe decrease in unloading speed for very diversely filled shulkers, or a large decrease in speed for unloading subsequent boxes of a single item type.
      I guess it depends on what you use this kind of shulker unpacker for. I feel a real use case is quickly emptying mixed shulkers for sorting, so it would be interesting to see how it handles that.

    • @GaminWithBK
      @GaminWithBK 10 місяців тому +1

      @@lozzo11omg111 i think this problem would be limited purely by hopper space so 5 per cart. If you have enough carts it shouldnt slow it down at all. The slow down would only be from having not full stacks. The entire process should still run at the same speed regardless. Could be wrong but thats how my mind sees it

    EDIT: After messing with it a little, theres is a god awful noise that happens because of the amount of minecarts in 1 area aswell as my game crashed for the same reason. The hopper clock seems to have complete control over the entire build so just put in an amount that fits your needs

  • @Temari_Virus
    @Temari_Virus 2 роки тому +2

    Assuming the each shulker box has enough items so that it always yeets a full hopper minecart, the unloader should in theory unload at exactly 2304k items/hr, making it a 256x hopper speed unloader (not taking into account the delay before it starts yeeting). For comparison a hopper speed box yeeter is 15552k items/hr. I think the fastest box unloader before this was a 16x hopper speed one, so while it's not quite at the speed of box yeeters it's still extremely impressive, and I get the feeling someone out there is already working on a faster version

    • @cubicmetre
      @cubicmetre  2 роки тому +2

      I should of clarified that box yeeting is not really a box unloader, because it deletes the shulker box. A box unloader takes items out of the box without destroying it. I'd say that is a useful distinction to make given the functional differences and tradeoffs between the two.

    -No worries, what do you need ?
    -Some redstone, blocks, this and that, and a shulker box
    -Duh, a shulker box for a shulker box unloading system, you don't say !
    -No, i mean, for the wiring...
    Idk why i thought this was so funny ^^

    For your powered gate issue early in the vid… @3:00 Couldn’t you power both the fence gate (closing it afterwards) and rail with a redstone block or something? The fence wouldn’t update when you powered the submerged activator rail… right?

    Instead of flat rail I solved in a my design just adding an istant dropper line of 1 hopper, 1 dropper and 1 dipenser. Powered from the second from an observer. So in the one over the minecart will be only the shulker box that is dospensed in that moment.

    insane unloader but are there maybe faster shulker box replacement methods? beacause that also seems to be a limiting factor when the machine has ramped up to full speed

    when i saw him use a shulker to power the rails but not stick to the fence post i was outraged, and i thought i clearly know the answer. which i thought was stairs, however i was sadly wrong but then decided to see if other blocks that can work just as well. and discovered that melons and pumkins including carved and jackolaterns do the trick

    Does a weighted pressure plate not have a random cool down? I thought I saw a video recently, might’ve been from here or ilmango, where wooden pressure plates have a random cool down before they release

      The chest boat is kind of useless because hopper minecarts are much easier to work with and much faster.

    Wouldn’t you be able to put a block next to the fence gate being powered, then manually close the gate, so the gate won’t open when you deposit the block under the rail

    have you tried powering the fence gate using lever, then open it by hand? it should be immune to redstone now

      I tried this in specific for the ianxofour bartering farm, unfortunately I haven't found a matching speed sorting system design and at the moment I had to cycle the water stream for all the sorting slices do their works - and that creates new problems for all the unstackable items.

    At 3:30 cant you still use a fence gate if it is under constant power? Just power it permanently and then close the gate manually to ignore the powered activator rail block.

      Yes I found this out after I recorded that segment, however I also wanted to use walls because they keepo the carts tighter constrained due to their larger hitbox.
