I find it weird how a lot of people say that the Tau use sterilization and re-education, which potentially exist within the empire but only mentioned ONCE in a non-canon video game ending. Don't get me wrong there's plenty fucked about the T'au, but compared to cannibalism, slavery, literal genocide or being cut open on a table for the mechanicus I think most of us would still prefer tautok in comparison.
Ya, tbh that DOW ending kinda stuck in my head when I played it and I didn’t realize it was mostly not a thing for the tau otherwise so my bad on that one. Thanks for watching! Tau are definitely one of the lesser evils in the setting haha
@@KrakDuk Well nobody is truly innocent in 40k, the whole "there is only war" thing is kind of the basis of the setting. Necrodermis is technically made up of uncounted numbers of microscopic nanoscarabs, a kroot that eats it will be eaten from the inside out. Tyranids are currently working on a way to digest necrodermis however so they can incorporate it into their bioforms like they do with other minerals.
You forgot the most fun part about the Gue'Vesa: those damned humans and their untampered souls created a new Chaos God as "The Greater Good", which Shadowsun met in the warp once
Being known for having knees and ribs is one of those things... it's either completely unremarkable cause "Yeah its' called 'having a skeleton'" or it's terrifying serial killer shit cause it's not *their* knees and ribs. And I mean this being 40k... I feel like the latter is almost more likely than not tbh.
Not canon coz the Blood Ravens ending was the canon one for Dark Crusade. But I really liked the Tau ending where Imperial Guard who surrendered were inducted into the Gue’Vesa, while the rest were executed. Best part of that ending was an almost throwaway line, mentioning declining human birth rates. Implied to be a result of Tau sterilisation efforts, coz they didn’t trust the Imperials, but couldn’t go full exterminatus coz of their image.

Fun fact. Humans born into the Tau empire will also worship the Greater God as like a God unlike the Tau that to them the Greater Good is a philosophy. This worshipping of the Greater God has caused a new Warp entity, and the Tau themselves don't really know how to feel about it. Also, no, the whole thing about starlinzing(God, I'm bad at spelling, sorry, but I think you know which word I'm trying to say, right?) Is just Imperium propaganda. After all Humans are born into the Tau empire so they're not just converted Imperium citizens or warriors. Their worlds start out as that but slowly over time they become fully Tau worlds and of course humans are born onto these worlds and after generations they might not even know the Imperium exist at all and just do whatever it is Gue'vesa do on Tau worlds. Now of course if you mean that Gue'vesa cannot do the dirty with anyone other than a human in Tau society then yeah that's kinda what happens. But they are not stairlized(again, forgive me for my bad spelling)
Oh ya I read about the greater good warp god. That’s pretty funny and makes sense with how warp entities are described to work. I didn’t realize the sterilization thing was mostly imperium propaganda. Thanks for pointing that out, I think I was remembering older lore. There are however humans that are integrated into tau society rather than being born into it, for them the reeducation camps make sense for the setting. Especially considering how strong imperial indoctrination can be already. Thanks for watching!
@@KrakDuk No Problem. And yeah the reeducation stuff is probably true but we don’t know exactly. But yeah I just wanted to point out that fault in what you said about Gue’vesa and yeah I do agree with you. Gue’vesa are the best Auxiliaries in the Tau Empire. There’s a few videos by other 40k UA-camrs if you’re more interested in what it’s like for a Gue’vesa in the Tau Empire but that’s only if you’re interested. (Btw Cadians are also my favorite of the Imperial Guard regiments as well so yeah)
@@Pixel22-fs3tt ya I appreciate it, I honestly did prefer when the tau were less overtly evil. It was an interesting contrast imo, so them not just sterilizing all their human allies is something I’m fine with lol. And hell yeah dude, Cadia stands!
@@KrakDuk Yeah I also prefer the Tau to not be evil. I just interpret that all the evil stuff said about the Tau is just Imperium propaganda to be honest and yeah it Cadia still stands!
I wish they made Gue’versa models. If they can make brood brothers for gene stealers they can make Gue,versa for the Tau. I want clusters on the table top!
Ya I think that would be super cool to see. I heard they might be making a vespid killteam so that and the Kroot expansion may be hints of good things to come hopefully. Thanks for watching! I too would like my little friend clusters on the table
Brood Brothers are just alternate heads for the normal IG kit, gue'vesa would have to be entirely new since they can't have the same heads, legs, or hands as normal fire warriors.
It's a solid decade since I did anything with warhammer, but back in the day kitbashing gue'vesa together was pretty easy. Had a friend who had an army of catachan/tau combo guys way back in 2003! Surely all those plastic minis are still made? Or no?
@@ilmari1452 lol I’m pretty sure the tau and catachan kits are the exact same ones from 2003. Definitely the catachan at least, not sure about the firewarriors. Catachan gue’vesa is pretty interesting. I usually only see cadian styled ones. Catachan guevesa only wear pants, a fire warrior pauldron, and headband🤣🤣
Human radio man picking up a cluster’s distress call. “Come in, what’s your unit? We’ll send help!” “We are the 126th cluster, I am the 1st friend! By the greater will, the emperor has blessed us with your help!” *targets their location with artillery instead*
Damn, the new killteam debunks the vespid mind control helmet theory. The strain leader keeps the "drones" in check because they have so much bloodlust
When I first started getting into 40K, the Tau were my favourite faction. In a grimdark world where everyone's a bad guy, the Tau were a real breath of fresh air 😊
What the T’au could be (as a faction): The Covenant from Halo; many races fulfilling different specialized roles, with the Tau themselves as the main force. Plus gundams, cuz they’re awesome. What we have: Kroot, Tau, Vespids (barely), Tau, Battlesuits, Tau, more Tau in Battlesuits… GIVE ME THE PSYCHIC BEARS, BUG KNIFE BLENDERS, DISCO SLIMES (I don’t remember where I got it but they got slimes with powerful lasers… and act like everything is a stage play), AND EVERYTHING ELSE, JAMES WORKSHOP
Imagine playing a game with every possible Tau Auxiliary while the opponent player is absolutely baffled that the Tau have a lot more friends than expected.
Thank you very much! That’s a good idea, going over all the squig variants can be a fun thing to cover. I’ll put it on the list, thanks for the suggestion
2:19 if I had a nickel for every time wayward imperials painted their faces to match a race they’ve essentially latched themselves on to, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
Out of all the T'au auxillaries, the one I want to see most get its own figure someday is the Vorgh. Imagine being able to call in Godzilla to throw down with a Titan or Gargant
Great video! Only thing is that the Nicassar weren’t the first to join the Greater Good, they were the first to join and survive 🙃 The Proctoon were the first to join and then shortly after they joined they were struck by a mysterious plague that the T’au were “luckily” completely immune to The T’au then converted the now “tragically” empty world into the Core Sept world of Borkan So yeah, the T’au totally didn’t pass the smallpox blankets out to the Poctroon and then take over their planet, they’d never do that
Really wish that GW would make some more of these as actual models. Until then, however, I may try to kitbash some of these designs because the ones in this video look awesome!
Wish there's a Tau version just like darktide. Their weapons seem to be very fun to use in a Darktide-like gameplay. Unfortunately that'll be in the far future.
The galg should be that one guy that everyone knows his name but not his face and is constantly mixed up with other people in the school. For contex, for a long time the Galg were believed to be by both the fanbase (and some writers) a humanoid frog species. It was only after the Liber Xenologist book released art of them that it was cleared up, and the book made the confusion an in-universe thing by saying that some Rogue Trader mixed the names of two different Tau auxiliaries (among other mistakes)

@@Pixel22-fs3tt ya I think that works well
thank you for the dark eldar representation! nobody likes to draw us!
Ofc! I actually really enjoy drawing the dark eldar, their pointy bits are a nice departure from the usual round or blocky guys I draw.
Not gonna lie I giggled like a mad man when he said the humans wear 'blue face'
The vespid are bros that talk about charging their J/O crystals too openly.
Human radio man picking up a cluster’s distress call.
“Come in, what’s your unit? We’ll send help!”
“We are the 126th cluster, I am the 1st friend! By the greater will, the emperor has blessed us with your help!”
*targets their location with artillery instead*
As someone getting into Warhammer the more I learn about the Tau the more I like 😂.
I love your drawings, they're so charming.
Thank you very much!
oh man i was the guy in my highschool who had ribs and kneecaps but not anymore
10:11 - 10:22 I feel personally attacked, lol because its true. Good job, you get a like.
0:56 Hey, fan art is better than No art!
True! I love the 40K fanart community
The video is the best, if not THE Best video so far
As someone whose been struggling to find any attachment to any one faction. A halo covenant style faction with mechs shines dope
Found your channel today...keep up the great work😊
Oh hey that’s awesome! Hope you enjoy my videos, there’s a lot more to come
@@KrakDuk Great. Can't wait :D
"Humans are the best auxiliary"
Kroot: WHERE ARE YOUR MODELS THEN
Nice waching you again!! funny video and i relly love tau, whould love some animated lore of it
Thanks alot! I also like the tau, they’re actually one of my favorites. I’ll definitely make some more tau lore videos sometime in the future.
The Tau using literal Kaijus to fight titans would be hilarious
Damn, the new killteam debunks the vespid mind control helmet theory. The strain leader keeps the "drones" in check because they have so much bloodlust
When I first started getting into 40K, the Tau were my favourite faction. In a grimdark world where everyone's a bad guy, the Tau were a real breath of fresh air 😊
The goat has posted
Haha, I appreciate it. Hope you like this new one
What the T’au could be (as a faction): The Covenant from Halo; many races fulfilling different specialized roles, with the Tau themselves as the main force. Plus gundams, cuz they’re awesome.
What we have: Kroot, Tau, Vespids (barely), Tau, Battlesuits, Tau, more Tau in Battlesuits…
GIVE ME THE PSYCHIC BEARS, BUG KNIFE BLENDERS, DISCO SLIMES (I don’t remember where I got it but they got slimes with powerful lasers… and act like everything is a stage play), AND EVERYTHING ELSE, JAMES WORKSHOP
Imagine playing a game with every possible Tau Auxiliary while the opponent player is absolutely baffled that the Tau have a lot more friends than expected.
I will be waiting for the Admech video my friend. I decree it
Also diggin the content my guy, artwork ties it all together
Yessir Admech is on the way. Trying to make my way around all the factions. Thanks a lot! I appreciate it
A great vid as always, btw are you gonna do a vid about squigs anytime soon?
Thank you very much! That’s a good idea, going over all the squig variants can be a fun thing to cover. I’ll put it on the list, thanks for the suggestion
Great stuff you deserve more subs
Thank you very much! I appreciate it
good job digging
more then a few i didnt know about
So I'm just now getting into Warhammer, and all I can say is, I had no idea the Tau was even a thing until this video.
2:19 if I had a nickel for every time wayward imperials painted their faces to match a race they’ve essentially latched themselves on to, I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
Everyone remembers that one kid in high school who was known for their knees and ribs. Brings back memories.
Vespids have finally had a confirmed design in the new kill team box
SALAMANDER (last time i promise), in other news the Kaju is my new favorite xenos
I strategically put him in to get you to watch🤣 but ya I hope GW decides to expand the auxillaries some day they’re super cool
Thanks for watching!
3:32 Short?!
I would buy TF out of a T’au Kaiju. And blind space bears. That would be so cool.
Out of all the T'au auxillaries, the one I want to see most get its own figure someday is the Vorgh. Imagine being able to call in Godzilla to throw down with a Titan or Gargant
Great video! Only thing is that the Nicassar weren’t the first to join the Greater Good, they were the first to join and survive 🙃 The Proctoon were the first to join and then shortly after they joined they were struck by a mysterious plague that the T’au were “luckily” completely immune to
The T’au then converted the now “tragically” empty world into the Core Sept world of Borkan
So yeah, the T’au totally didn’t pass the smallpox blankets out to the Poctroon and then take over their planet, they’d never do that
Ah the 'Wormholes' quip got me.
Farsight enclaves are probably the only place in 40k that is truly a neutral good type of faction. Would like a vid on them one day
10:57 Is he trying to say chitinous? (pronounced "kite-in-us")
Chidinus😂😂😂😂
Really wish that GW would make some more of these as actual models. Until then, however, I may try to kitbash some of these designs because the ones in this video look awesome!
Wish there's a Tau version just like darktide. Their weapons seem to be very fun to use in a Darktide-like gameplay. Unfortunately that'll be in the far future.
Vespids are that super intelligent foreign exchange student that also believes in holistic medicine.
Good job!
Thank you!
I'm so glad he didn't forget the Glershitglorbs
Dying at "rib and knee boy" omfg
A tau aux codes would be fun. If i could create stats inwould try and make one
I woukd love to see an Auxiliary codex and a lot more models for them.
I teel like 40k end times will just be everybody sitting at a T'au bible study praying to the greater good that the ethereals shut up.
Strapping in for the series 'T'au and Friends'
6 seasons and a movie!
Really cool video, i hope gw can give Gue‘vesa models one day
I'm sorry, why did NO ONE TELL ME THE TAU HAD KAIJUS? I could have died without this insane 40k knowledge and would have never known.
Tau is the faction I play the most. Specifically my Kroot army even if I virtually never win XD.
Damn, didn't know the Tau could be that dark
The galg should be that one guy that everyone knows his name but not his face and is constantly mixed up with other people in the school.
For contex, for a long time the Galg were believed to be by both the fanbase (and some writers) a humanoid frog species. It was only after the Liber Xenologist book released art of them that it was cleared up, and the book made the confusion an in-universe thing by saying that some Rogue Trader mixed the names of two different Tau auxiliaries (among other mistakes)
"This kids are nerds" - mate.... We all are.. Us watching, you making, all of us hahah
The fan art's in this video are biblical
bro awesome art :3
Shit, I haven't thought about Rib and Knee boy for years; wonder how he's getting on, hopefully he's still Ribbin', still Kneein'!
votann really just playing DF in space
“Hey, fish-cakes, ever think that you might NEED that zealotry & dangerousness when fending off against, oh I don’t know, Orks, Necrons, or Emporer forbid Nids, Khaos, & The Cocaine-Fueled BDSM knife ears?”
