    Interesting. I’ve had a 2001 4.4 for years. I get 18mpg town driving. Mine has every option available when it was new including the ‘comfort’ option which has extra seating control, rear heated seats and auto exit steering wheel movement. I also have an invoice from when someone bought it at a year old -£52995… in 2002 that was a load of cash.

      That was a huge amount of money for a brand new X5 back then! I’ve always wanted a petrol version because I feel they sound a lot better, I think I have the original invoice for mine actually in the paperwork file, may have to dig that out and include that in a future video!

    I have a bmw x5 2005 and I'm having problems with the radio the buttons have stopped working?

      Try and disconnect battery and put the terminals together , hold for 60 seconds and reconnect the battery , might solve the issue if not it may be the ribbon in the stereo that connects the wires etc or an internal issue , does it work with the steering wheel controls still?

      The controls on the steering wheel work fine that's the only way I can change to other channels

      I have the E70 4.0d was thinking of a downgrade to E53 as it more reliable engine M57 vs N57. Any thoughts .. not had issues yet in 3 yrs just EGR and valve cover leak. However timing chain could go on these but only done 80k miles now.

      Yeah I mean if your X5 is running good and you haven’t had many issues in 3 years then continue good maintenance, there is of course the risk because the N57 is very well known for failing a lot more than the M57, to be honest I think if you did downgrade essentially then you wouldn’t miss much from your E70 to an E53 other then a bit of power, infotainment system is a bit different but I’ve recently changed mine and very happy with it

      Sorry I didn’t make it clear in the video, I meant in general when buying a X5 E53 things to check out for on both petrol and diesel, diesel has turbo , petrol has vanished 😁Thankyou for watching the video I really appreciate the comment

    Vanos on a 3.0d ? M57 ?

  • @mitchfromtheinternet297
    @mitchfromtheinternet297 2 роки тому

    M57 with Vanos? 🤣🤣🤣 Even if you were right, since when does a fluctuating idle instantly indicated a Vanos failure?
    Put the spanners down fella.🙈

    • @ConversationWay
      @ConversationWay  2 роки тому

      Hey thanks for commenting, yes your absolutely right but it wasn’t a diagnostic it was just an overall common fault that can occur on X5 models and not specifically the 3.0d because it doesn’t have vanos, thanks again for watching 😁

      This is very true, people don’t understand that you essentially have to lift them rather than pull them
